I've made molds before and you did a fantastic job with it! You did good with rubber banding them together. Things will sometimes leak and you just kind of have to improvise around it, so you did beautifully! Keep in mind too that after casting so many that your molds are going to wear out and they'll start to get rougher as you cast them, so you'll either want to hang onto Mama Blob, or set your best Blank Blob aside that you can use to recast them. I can't wait to see ALL of the universe together!

She also got a little ME notebook and the first thing she did was draw her own version of her logo. What a fabulous plan! Glad you didn't just chuck the first mold! Having 2 molds is fabulous! BTW consider setting aside a casting from each mold. Unfortunately silicone molds won't last forever and having an early cast from each will allow you to continuing creating more molds as needed. You can 'finish' each casting just like you are doing and then clear coat to have them ready to mold once you need to!

I literally thought she is going to create another universe, like planets for each category of characters. eg - a planet for insectimals, another planet for fruity animals and so on....like multiple nophalofegas.....that will be so cool...just to know the home and story of every set of characters. loads of love can't wait to have a morialaxy😉
I've worked with the gray clay before! The reason it was so hard is because you have to kneed it, and it warms up in your hands and becomes soft. Also if for whatever reason you run out of time and need to pause on your creation, you can put it in a plastic bag, spray a little bit of water inside the bag with a bottle, and then seal it, and it'll stay wet and moldable. As for the smell... uhm, you get used to it? pff
this is!! my jam!!! oh i loved this whole episode so much! i sculpt little characters, animals, items, etc. and make molds like this out of silicone to maximize production and watching you go along and do it all was so much fun. can't wait to see how it grows in the next episode!

And the cool part is Moriah has Soo many characters that she could make this like a mini series and every so often make a few more. Or even make some in her spare time without a video and post it to Instagram. Like this could be the never ending Series. Especially if she plans to make these blobs like a collection sorta thing and like make every single character and update it when she invents new characters too.
Moriah, you should paint a keyboard with each key being one of your characters that start with that letter! For the keys without letters you could just do plain colors or any character.
When I read the title.. my mind just went to: *How does she have time to make a WHOLE NOTHER UNIVERSE* Also, The time she takes out of her day / week to make these videos- give her some credit guys

Mama blob is giving me Adipose vibes (Doctor Who Adipose, not the real thing), and I love her 😍 Edit: Also, I have done two part moulds before, and if you want to go again, I have tips: 1. The only thing silicone sticks to is itself, so using something like vaseline as well as mould release on just the silicone part is not a bad idea. 2. I would also have wooden walls to help press the mould together when you pour in the plaster. I just mean two square planks that you put on the flat sides of the mould that you can then tape/ rubber band up. It just helps hold it together tightly. 3. Don't be afraid of using super glue for your mould making box! You can essentially dissolve it with a solvent like lighter fluid afterwards, I would use that with the hot glue as reinforcement.
The stress of watching the time bar get smaller and smaller yet she still hadn't pulled out any paint or added any color zero sparkly cute eyes, and the button nose. Knowing I'll have to wait 7 DAYS. I could watch her for hours. I love how her mind works while making her creations and of course, the commentary is top-notch. Ahhhhhhhh.
Moriah, I got here early( so you might see this) to tell you how much I love you and love your videos. You got me through an EXTREMELY hard year. So bad that I had to quit going to school. This is gonna be a series that will take foreeeeeeeever 😮 and I love it 😍
And the cool part is Moriah has Soo many characters that she could make this like a mini series and every so often make a few more. Or even make some in her spare time without a video and post it to Instagram. Like this could be the never ending Series. Especially if she plans to make these blobs like a collection sorta thing and like make every single character and update it when she invents new characters too.
Moriah, you should paint a keyboard with each key being one of your characters that start with that letter! For the keys without letters you could just do plain colors or any character.
When I read the title.. my mind just went to: *How does she have time to make a WHOLE NOTHER UNIVERSE*
Also, The time she takes out of her day / week to make these videos- give her some credit guys

This was such a fun video to watch! I’m so excited for next Friday to see how they turn out! I also think that Moriah should build miniature versions of some of her characters and then build a little house for it that matches it’s theme. Then she could make a whole little village and put it on display!

i knew as soon as you started talking about smoothing imperfections that you were making a mold!!! this is definitely a much more complicated way to make a mold than I've seen before but it's really cool

You probably have a million ideas to work and here I go adding to the list. I would love to see your version of ocean creatures.. . A cute octopus, a puffer fish, a whale, a seashell with occupant, a clam, a sea urchin. These are just ideas that I think would be so cute in your style.

watching this video in the future so sad at all the comments that are learning from this and dont realize she could have just made a much easier partial cut mold instead of a complicated 2 part mold, especially for such a simple char... ;-;

Edit: Also, I have done two part moulds before, and if you want to go again, I have tips:
1. The only thing silicone sticks to is itself, so using something like vaseline as well as mould release on just the silicone part is not a bad idea.
2. I would also have wooden walls to help press the mould together when you pour in the plaster. I just mean two square planks that you put on the flat sides of the mould that you can then tape/ rubber band up. It just helps hold it together tightly.
3. Don't be afraid of using super glue for your mould making box! You can essentially dissolve it with a solvent like lighter fluid afterwards, I would use that with the hot glue as reinforcement.
We are literally doing clay in my art class,it's so interesting to see how Mariah does her clay work and how we do it in class
The stress of watching the time bar get smaller and smaller yet she still hadn't pulled out any paint or added any color zero sparkly cute eyes, and the button nose. Knowing I'll have to wait 7 DAYS. I could watch her for hours. I love how her mind works while making her creations and of course, the commentary is top-notch. Ahhhhhhhh.
Moriah, I got here early( so you might see this) to tell you how much I love you and love your videos. You got me through an EXTREMELY hard year. So bad that I had to quit going to school. You are what makes me get through the day on Friday. ❤️
