She also excels in reception and floor defense department, and not just in scoring, which CCS players are generally known for. Also, i think they are playing the long game and looking to the future - since Staunton is just 23 years old, she still has long years to play, barring any unforeseen injuries, so maybe the management is planning to hire her services for the years to come. That way the chemistry with the team is already there. With the recent unavailability of Alyssa and Tots, there's the opportunity to use MG and Pons, both really reliable scorers. I also like that other players like Ella DJ and Dij Rodriguez were inserted during the game. In a season that's expected to be long, its important to be able to rotate players, and even starters, early on for the coaching staff to get a feel for the right mix of players in the court, to rest the usual starters, to avoid predictability, and to improve the overall team competency. Any player that is subbed in can deliver the points or contribute to other aspects of the game. The FFF also played well, including their import, but of course in any game, there is always a winner and a loser, and CCS got the better of them this time.
