Recently found your channel and even though I like longer videos I've really been loving your snappy sense of humour. Been going through some of your older videos and loved the Dracula / Hammer Horror pieces. Even though you pack so much comedy in your short videos you also have a talent for the more serious pieces. I've never been a fan of watching horror, but I find the technical and filmmaking side of the genre fascinating. So much good work with more to explore. Great work.

I noticed it. But I mostly recognized Jeff Conaway from Taxi and Maxwell Caufield from Dynasty/The Colbys. Fun fact: in real life Maxwell Caufield is British (so he might have been familiar with Red Dwarf) and he's been married to Juliet Mills (Nanny and the Professor) for over 40 years.

Some of those Red Dwarf episodes post-date the film, but there were several Star Trek episodes that pre-dated both of them. E.g. the 1968 episodes "A Piece Of The Action", set on a planet that based its culture on 1930s gangster movies, and "Spectre of the Gun" in which the crew are placed in a simulation of the 1880s Tombstone, AZ gunfight at the OK Corral.

Funny you should ask that particular question. Just last night I was again finding myself amused over a serious, if you can call it that, movie's connection to the spoof someone might've made of it only and hilariously, that spoof was created decades ago. I was sitting in the theater watching the rather violent remake of "The Magnificent 7" starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt in 2016, when suddenly several rascally thoughts turned my frown upside down. In the middle of seeing farmers gunned down by the bad guys I realized Peter Sarsgaard's head villain with his fancy suit, especially that vest, political connections at the state capital, even his watch fob in the same place was Hedley Lamarr which would make Denzel-Black Bart, Vincent D'Onofrio-Mongo and Chris Pratt "The Waco Kid". I was watching "Blazing Saddles" and still get no end of pleasure knowing this movie was spoofed by a time traveling Mel Brooks in 1974. It's a shame the 7's director left out Lili Von Schtupp, the movie might've been better. Take the test, find a still of Sarsgaard without his hat and a still of Harvey Korman's Lamarr and put them side by side and I'll bet folding money you'll never look at Sarsgaard's Bartholomew Bogue again, without imagining him humping a small "Lady Liberty" statue.

I would say the similarities especially in the 1940s or Old West themes might have more to do with the available background sets on location then anything else. Though of course Star Trek next Generation or other such shows might be what red Dwarf and this movie will both spoofing / drawing inspiration from?
My understanding for TNG was however as I said, helps to be produced in a place where you happen to have the props for an old western or 40s era spy movie already at hand.

I think i watched it on TV as a kid. O_O
The premise could actually be a an intertaining and okay B-movie, made by somebody who know their limits. o_O

The humour on these videos is better than the films.

It's a Trap! Akbar did try to warn Lando about show business. But nooo, the guy wanted to be in Alien Intruder and later in Rise of Schmuckwalker. No one knows really why. Money? Revenge over Hollywood's hell? Karma? Billy Dee must talk.

Films I see connections in that may not be there? Star Wars and Phantom of the Paradise. I'm not saying that George Lucas definitely based Anakin/Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine on Winslow/The Phantom and Swan, respectively, buuuuuuutt....

This is not as weird as it seems. My theory has been that Russia has been filling out its military from the prisons. Serve the rest of your sentence or help the Motherland. Of course they don't tend to be good soldiers and go from just fighting to looting, raping, torturing and the various depraved acts against the civilian populations which landed them in prison in the first place, but they took the place of a desirable person. If they get killed, they are off the justice system's and society's liabilities.

90's straight-to-video schlock movies are just too damn dull to be enjoyed on any level. I watched Rats: Night of Terror from beginning to end after Robin's review. I can't even make it thtough ten minutes into a film like this.

This movie could have been more interesting had it been made by more competent film makers

Another Alien (or more Aliens) ripoff is Demonic Toys. I swear that runaway-girl is a copy of Newt.
