Then I saw a documentary about how you guys saved the club. You stood up to soulless corporate interests and WON. That made American "soccer" history but it also made American sports history full stop. This just doesn't happen in American sports but you MADE it happen. Being from Liverpool I always felt like Ohio would be a state I'd like to visit, whose people I would understand, good people, salt of the earth people, and I always remembered you for having your 3 biggest cities being with C; Cleveland, Cincinnati and of course Columbus. And the Crew had fallen on hard times - just like Everton. And you are a FOUNDER member of the MLS just like Everton are founder members of both the football league (1887) and the premier league (1991). They wanted to take that from you but they DIDN'T. You fought for your club against all odds, againat all American sporting convention, and won. I've followed you guys on and off ever since. So happy for you. Columbus Crew have a pedigree no-one in US soccer can match. Enjoy!

It was a tough journey while creating the biggest comeback in Eastern Conference final history and rivalry history. No doubt about it... Columbus will run it back again and they won't give up easily. If Orlando hadn't changed their identity too much and over respected the Crew and hadn't tried to be the team that they aren't facing us in the playoffs, then I full think Orlando would have hoisted the trophy this year. Fundamentally, Orlando lost that game solely because they'd been coached to try to disrupt our game by playing physical, and that was not only unnecessary it disrupted their play and eventually earned them a well-earned red. Orlando was good enough to beat us without the shenanigans, as they proved both regular season and when they went back to their game when a man down. See you next year in the playoffs.

LAFC fan here. Man I love Hollingshead but he was getting cooked all game. Did not play well at all. Not saying he’s the reason LAFC lost but that second goal was on him although that assist was pretty epic. Take away that controversial penalty away too and it’s a different game. It wasn’t meant to be though. Long ass season for LAFC too. They’ll learn from this but Columbus wanted it more. They played with way more heart all playoffs. Congrats to the crew
Penalty wasn't actually controversial. Despite Taylor Twellmann being unaware of it, IFAB took out the "off the body first" portion of the law, now it is primarily, making the silhouette bigger. His arm was definitely away from the body, so call was cut and dried.

LAFC fan here. Man I love Hollingshead but he was getting cooked all game. Did not play well at all. Not saying he’s the reason LAFC lost but that second goal was on him although that assist was pretty epic. Take away that controversial penalty away too and it’s a different game. It wasn’t meant to be though. Long ass season for LAFC too. They’ll learn from this but Columbus wanted it more. They played with way more heart all playoffs. Congrats to the crew
Penalty wasn't actually controversial. Despite Taylor Twellmann being unaware of it, IFAB took out the "off the body first" portion of the law, now it is primarily, making the silhouette bigger. His arm was definitely away from the body, so call was cut and dried.
