that low F at 1:02 is deceptively hand-busting. kudos!

Came here for it, scrubbed ahead to watch it, and impressed he nailed it. Justin even improvises this live and often doesn't play it exactly like this, assuming because it's so hard.

Yep! I play a lot of TOOL on bass and that riff is something I still struggle with. It's what I look for with any 46&2 bass cover. Dude killed it!

This has got to be one of the most accurate tone recreations out there

The Wal basses have the preamps requiered for the tone

@@FidelIsaacVargas this is a wal clone, and the original song was recorded on a single pickup MM stingray, same with Pushit and H.

Been playing for 15 years and had all sorts of gear and preamps, this tone is unbelievably great 👍
Very few people have been able to get that tone on youtube

Excellent job! I'm curious about your signal chain; after the pedal board, are you mic'ing two cabinets, and mixing them with one of the demeter VTBP-201(S)'s DI's and a Sansamp BDDI XLR out? I saw there are two BDDI's in your rack, so I'm assuming one is either a backup, or is being run into one of the other signal chains?
I really dig your toggling of the dirty amp in and out of the mix - I was unaware that Justin might do that live (IIRC in the Dunlop TV rig rundown his bass tech said that both amps were always run all the time - at least live). In any case, it sounds great!
    Spiral out!

      Thanks!
I'll be doing a gear breakdown post TOOL catalog.
But for a "snapshot" yes I run a dirty and clean side (via the a/b box in the vids) I mic the 10's on each side. The 15 is dirty with a 2x10 to boot on top. One Dem is clean the is other dirty , run Sans thru FX send return (one is direct).
The final result is in the mixer just to the side of the rig > IEM
I'll go into greater detail upon my rig rundown -A lot to discuss
      Thanks again:)
