Thanks for this guide. I was jumping off of the higher building and getting nowhere. Finally got it after a couple of tries. The key is to sprint then hold Left Trigger right before you jump and continuing to hold the left trigger after jumping.

Honestly, your making getting this Achievement much harder than it has to be. You Don't have to run and you Don't have to line yourself up Perfectly. All you have to do is jump off that roof and press LT.
Just FYI, for everyone, it explicitly states in the very beginning of the game that sprinting has no effect on jumping ability. I just completed this achievement without sprinting at all! That said, thank you for this guide! I was going crazy trying to jump from the tower! :)
@@TheNateBeSoGreat you can only use the grapple axes on surfaces meant for them, like inside the well. I saw no such surfaces on the shack. Besides, it's easier to jump from the tower's first broken window, to the left of the well here, in the shadow: 1:00.

Actually, if I remember correctly, you can use the grapple axe to get up on the roof ledge where this achievement is performed. If you jump and instantly throw the axe, the game freaks out a bit and you're able to pull yourself up.
1:00 It's quicker/easier to jump from the ruined window of the tower - you simply climb up from the side and then jump on the windowsill. Push and hold forward and immediately press jump and immediately hold LT. All this climbing on that roof, lining up the jump and sprinting is nonsense.
Excellent spot to learn how to swan dive in this game. For pc players: press your right mouse button while in the upwards portion of your jump. So, jump and THEN quickly also click your right mouse button.
I kept trying to dive from the Tower roof (which makes a lot more sense) but everytime I droped she wouldn't swan dive. You can fall safely on the well but there's no way you can do it from there. Thanks for the video, it was helpful, though you can jump on the rock to the side of the house and then jump to the roof of the house from there also.
The right spot to do this achievement is actually the blacksmith. Round the side there is a hop up to get up on the roof then jump from the roof on to the top of the blacksmiths fire pit thing and its an easy dive from there

Took me a couple of attempts, but as in earning the High Dive challenge, I found pressing A then rolling to B worked (XBOX One) worked a lot easier than using the LT.
None of this is working for me. I've jumped in that friggin well a hundred times. She never goes into a dive. Sometimes she'll go into the pencil position, arms wrapped in and straight, but NEVER a dive. This is why I hate game companies.
I can not get Lara to dive. She does it in one of the caves but cant get this or the diving challenge. I have everything else at 100% with game done. Any ideas?

When you jump, the game reverts to walking speed.
I've done the swan dive from that roof into that well countless times now and I still have no achievement for it! So frustrating!!!

Did it by just walking over and jumping, the dive didn't register, but I don't remember doing it before. Also, it glitched and I fell off the map, lol

I like how its not an achievement on 360 but it is on xboxone, along with 100% the game, kill a boar with a Molotov and best seat in the house.

It's much, much easier just to scramble up the roof of the shack in back and jump across to that building.

It does NOT work if you sprint. You have to run without sprinting for it to work.
