The Indar 1 workshop was designed with the goal of introducing students with the process of parametric design and digital fabrication through hands-on experience. The programme lasted ten days, during which time the students learned about the basics of minimal surfaces based on a research and design procedure and participated in a one-to-one construction process of a pavilion. First, the fundamentals of parametric design were taught in the Grasshopper environment. Then the students were divided into groups of four and each group presented alternatives. Finally, a design was chosen as the final project and the material studies and the construction process began. During these ten days, the students worked tirelessly from early dawn until late at night, and they were involved in every step of the construction process., including the preparation of construction documents and the construction of the pavilion. The pavilion that was built was placed as a memorial in the central foyer of the Shahid Beheshti University, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning.
