Another plus point to Kriega is that I had a motorcycle accident a month ago and the paramedics had to cut off the strap. I contacted to see if they could fix it and they promptly said to send the backpack back to them and they will fix it for me.
I have a R25 and love it, I'm thinking this back was a bit sportier looking, otherwise I appreciate it's size and waterproofness. I keep an expensive computer on me all times so fully waterproof is becoming a necessity
sorry to revive a dead post, but am looking at getting a waterproof Kriega rucksack. They now have the R22 in addition to the R30, almost the same price. How did you get along with the R30? am looking for a do it all rucksack, daily stuff to 1-2 week + touring on my Tenere, so it will involve unpaved roads too. Do you recon itll be comfy stood up (not fully loaded)? Thanks
Can you fit a full face helmet in this? doesn't look like it but worth asking. Also is it overly bulky for daily commuting, looking into all the Kriega backpacks because of the quality and harness system but the 15 and 20 are just one big pocket, i like the idea of smaller compartments where i can put my phone, wallet, keys in one section and then lunch in another and then throw my laptop or change of cloths and shoes into the main compartment.
No, you cannot fit a full-face helmet inside. As for commuting, it is not bulky at all in my opinion, especially since you can cinch down the side straps a lot. -DrewZilla
No, those tan straps are fixed to the bag, but yes, you can wear it as a Lemmy-sized guy. You would just adjust the top shoulder straps to the longest position. There are 1-, 2-, and 3-dot markers on those straps to help you determine proper fit. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-r30-backpack
Is the exterior ripstop nylon waterproof only the internal white liner? Basically I want to know if the bag remains waterproof if the exterior nylon picks up a nick or a tear. Thanks guys, love your channel and reviews
The exterior and the two outer pockers are heavily water-resistant but not waterproof. The white inner liner in the main compartment is seam-sealed waterproof and free-floating. The exterior can pick up a nick or tear, and as long as the floating inner liner isn't punctured, the contents of the inner liner will remain dry. If the inner liner is damaged, it's easily replaceable, as it's just held in place at the top opening with Velcro. Hope this helps! -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-replacement-liners
Hi there haven't got a chance try on these bags in my country, few concerns before purchase online: 1) Can the harness remain the shape, A) when wearing even not buckle with quad lock system? B) when adding the us 5 or 10 drypack fully packed? 2) Does the white dry pack in main compartment flies out overtime when grabbing things out of it?
1) You'll want to use the buckle while riding, but yes, the straps will still be plenty functional if you do not clip them in. The heavier your load, though, the more the strain on your shoulders will be without using the buckle. 2) I haven't experienced that at all. You get used to using the bag and navigate around it. Hope that helps! -TeamZilla Chris
Generally yes, though it depends how big the race hump is. If you ride in a 3/4 to full-tuck position, you would just adjust the straps so that the bag sits a bit lower on the back. -DrewZilla *bit.ly/Kriega_R30_Backpack
For longer off-road rides, the R30 is a pretty large pack. I'd recommend the R15 or at the max, an R20. Both the R15 and R20 can work pretty well with a Leatt neck brace, but it all depends on your physique. -DrewZilla

David Silva that’s awesome! Glad you’re ok too
Same as my US-30, electronics can be safely placed in the water resistant outer pocket if you first stick them inside a Ziploc bag.

Just got mine today. So far so good. Thanks for the review

Could you swap the tan straps for black? I am "Lemmy sized," would this backpack expand enough for that? Thanks!

Great review. I'm going to procure a R30 soon.

RevZilla, Magic! Thanks guys!
Does this model have a laptop compartment/sleeve?
Hi there

Thanks so much,
Will it sit ok with a hump? Excuse me
Generally yes, though it depends how big the race hump is. If you ride in a 3/4 to full-tuck position, you would just adjust the straps so that the bag sits a bit lower on the back. -DrewZilla

Has anybody experience with this pack with a leatt neck brace in longer off-road rides?? Thanks

Could you fit a helmet in it?
Even this R30 is a bit small to accommodate a full-face helmet. -DrewZilla
RevZilla went with the 25 and the us10 for my chain. Will just use the helmet strap to attach to the bag. Thanks
You're welcome!
Yes.. just with my klim Krios pro.. it’s a very tight squeeze through the opening though
