@HealthCoachKait - My wife gets mad at me for eating so much protein (and veggies). I still eat big portions at meals, but either very low carb or no carbs at all. She says I should be eating smaller portions too. When I eat smaller portions, protein and fats, I'm still hungry. So, If my wife is correct, what am I doing wrong?

I eata can of sarindines and an egg 🍳 an avocado 🥑 or olives 4 or 5. At most meals. And leafy greens spinach Celery and a mini cucumber 🥒 and mini 🌶️🫑 peppers and ohh can't forget about celery and sometimes nuts (pumpkin seeds or Brazil nuts) along with a hand full of berries. Sometimes 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate 🍫 (organic cacoa nibs). To get my protein fats and fiber. If you're full initiated I generally don't snack I do take supplements though like omega-3s and a multi and a few others.
I am on a 16 and 8 intermittent fasting I stop eating around 7:00 p.m. and start back up eating between 11:00 and 12:00 the next day skipping breakfast. only doing two meals a day. I don't count calories anymore or macros or anything like that. This intermittent fasting thing is the way to go to lose weight. I work out like 10 to 15 minutes a day literally. My inflammation is going down in my body I'm losing weight I've lost 30 lb already.
I do get up every hour to move because I sit in front of the computer but it's only like for two or three minutes just to do some stretching.

I've struggled with weight my whole life and I'm now diabetic. I've been to a number of nutritionists who have suggested the Mediterranean diet. Which is an okay diet, but I was always hungry and I always fell off the wagon. I started a high protein diet about a year ago. I've lost 75lbs from my heaviest weight. 40 of those pounds have been in the past year. 35 of those pounds took almost two years to lose. High protein is the way to go.
I actually have a hard time eating all what I should be eating in a day because I'm not hungry at all. I usually eat breakfast at 730 and would be starving by 10. Now I eat breakfast and I'm still pretty good at lunch time. Only eating because its the only time I have while at work.

Do you think this principal applies to people who are at a good BF percentage? For example I'm at around 15% bf fat now and I have almost completely removed high fats out of my diet for the next few weeks/ months until I get to around 10%. I have also lowered my carbs a bit but their timing as well with a heavy focus on lean protein and I feel amazing.
BTW my favorite protein is ground bison with mixed in heart and liver. Its unbelievable.

Hi, please do your research. Eating 100% grass fed beef results in far fewer deaths. One grass fed steer can feed a person for over six months. Eating vegan kills hundreds of life forms in that same six month period. E.g. worms, rodents, bees for pollination of crops like avocados and kiwifruit. Even driving a car, or going on a bus or train causes deaths especially at night e.g. moths.
Please don’t fall into the vegan self-righteous trap and wreck your long term health in the process. Take care. Regards Glenn

I’m surprised you’re suggesting adding butter to coffee, often called bulletproof coffee, and suggesting that will prolong your fast. I have been an intermittent faster for 18 months and most of the science supports a ‘clean fast’, which means only water, green tea, black coffee with nothing added otherwise anything added to those beverages will break a fast, even fat. You can refer to Dr. Jason Fung‘s book, ‘the Obesity Code’ or Gin Stephen’s book, ‘Fast, Feast, Repeat’.

It’s not like that though because the human body is more complex. Eating fat activates the metabolic pathways that allow you to burn fat more efficiently.

@@HealthCoachKait I've been eating a strict low fat diet (under 10g a day) for about 3 months and I'm losing weight so fast it's scary.
This is like the only thing that has ever worked for me. High-carb, low-fat. And I'm not starving myself either, or fasting. I'm eating whenever I want, and unlimited amounts of calories.
2 cups of white rice, and 1 can of black beans with some soy sauce and hot sauce is my staple meal.

@@lauramcniel3305 I've tried high-fat, zero carb in the past. It doesn't work. Well, it works for a while - you lose weight - but your energy levels take a massive dive from ketosis and you're forced to live on stimulants like caffeine 24/7 to be able to function. It's impossible to sustain long term.
It's no way to live. Being carb deprived makes you extremely unpleasant to be around. You snap at the littlest things because your cortisol is spiked through the roof all the time, and your sleep is trash.

Remember not all fats , carbs, protiens and calories are not the same. In carbs there are complex carbs that takes slower to digest snd more so when eat it with proteins and simple carbs ( like rice, pasta breads and donuts) that raise sugar spikes faster ,but true will be less of spike if eat the carbs( simple) after eating the protein. The protein is like a speed bump for the carbs especially the simple carbs.
Another way to change the carb is to freeze or refrigerate it then reheat or toasted to become risistence starch to gain good bacteria for the gut.
That's with majority of carbs ( simple) like pasta, rice bread and spaghetti and such!
This way is less painful for the gut. It helps me a lot.😊
