CRISIS ADVERTED! Love the speed control! Slowed you down to turtle pace and that worked like a charm! Thank you so much for all these wonderful doubles tutorials you post. They're really quite good. It's just unfortunate that I also lack any real skill for patience!
Arghhhhh!!! Have watched this so many times AND YET cannot get that left hand correct (the "easy" side)!!!! I thought I had it BUT when I look carefully at the placement of your hand on the hoop behind your back, I find that your thumb and pointing finger are in the direction of your right whereas it is my pinky that is in the direction of the right (if that makes any sense). So frustrated that I can't figure this out. It's as if I am making it more difficult than it has to be. Any insight you can provide would be most helpful as I am on the brink of eating a mega-sized candy bar followed by a liter of soda. Yes, yes, it's one of those kind of moments right now! ALAS!!!!!!!!
Lisa Willoughby I had the exact same problem what helped me understand the hoops momentum was swinging wide in the front so it made more sense what to do with the back. I was getting really frustrated right before I understood what was going on then my brain just finally clicked. the pinky lead one was way easier for me too lol. I usually don't even involve the thumb I sorta just use a claw hand and it seemed to help lol.
Thank you Christen for your note! What you wrote to me was exactly how I finally figured out what to do with the "easy" left side! Seriously, it took me what seemed like forever to figure it out but I continually watched myself in the mirror and how that right hand was moving and like you, my brain just finally got it. Still working on making it look really clean and effortless --maybe within another year that will happen! LOL big time!!!
OMG that pesky left hand!!!!! I've always done hip reels pinky-led, so I cannot figure out the pointer led behind the back part yet! I am determined though, because it's the only part of your front waist wrap video that I can't get.
ok I'm going to try and explain the pointer finger lead hand. practice this without a hoop. the hand does a funky penguin move behind the back. imagine a capital letter L. your making that letter with your hand behind your back. the hand and fingers will be the bottom of the L and your lower arm is the top of the L. your have to stretch your wrist to make this letter. it hurts at first. so......your pointer finger leads the hoop behind to your butt. then you want to push the hoop up with your pointer finger so the hoop is touching your neck and back. this is when your making this capital letter L with your hand and wrist stretched.then you want to weave the hoop in front so.. take your pointer finger and lead from this L by touching or tracing a line from your lower back (wrist facing the wall knuckles facing your back) to hip,(wrist facing to the opposite side of the hip ur working on), to the top of thigh (wrist facing forward)and NOW YOUR HOOP IS IN FRONT to weave in front) SO YOUR LEADING WITH YOUR POINTER FINGER( AFTER THE PENGUIN/ CAPITAL L / STRETCHED UNCOMFY WRIST)TO THE BACK TO HIP TO TOP THIGH....if u want me to make a slow mo dm me on instagram..hope this made sense and helps! good luck!
Thank you! I will keep trying! I was thinking I will try with my poi too in case that helps. I know poi helped me get the 3-beat on the mini hoops, so maybe they will save me here too! I'm not on instagram, but I'll keep trying and will report back. ;-) I just tried again and the problem is that the hoop is getting caught on my inner forearm like a cradle grip, if that makes sense.
ok try poking your elbow and arm out further away from your body. Once u get it you can move closer to your hips. Also if your working on your right side.. stick ur right hip out to the left. That will give you more space for the hoop to move. Maybe when the hoop is coming around to the front your arm is bent and it's getting stuck. Try straitening your arm. I do my reals with almost straight arms. Let me know if you still have problems
Muito bom
How do you do the this but with turns please? Xx
