THANK YOU!!!! This strat worked like a charm! My girlfriend and I tried forever and all manner of different strats to kill this level on inferno and never came close. Our last failed effort involved using the prominence and trying to zerg the mothership but I digress, thank you for posting this :)) Only 2 more levels to go (33 & 34)!
Thanks for this video, i used this strategy to complete this mission on inferno, having a co-op friend made the missions on inferno so much more manageable, mission 48, 52 and 53 in particular.
Tbh I cleared this second to last with less than 9k can’t remember and I had much more difficulty with Inferno lol. It definitely lived up it’s name sake? Also I found that I was able a majority of the weapons before the halfway point on hardest. Occupation is a great place to get the last few high tier stuff from my recent win there. Omg with 4.6k armor I passed Inferno (lvl. 52) and this level. I died at the end of 53 when the commander said to get away that the mother ship was gonna fall and I stood there looking at the screen waiting to see what would happen. "Mission Cleared" Woooo Hooooooo!!!!!

Maybe I was wrong, but the next time I'll try to keep it focused on the gameplay, and keep my own notes down in the description. But thank you so much for bringing the next game to my attention; I had no idea, and it's definitely something for me to look forward to.
The only thing I can think of is detonate the first set of C70s and then make sure you let the mothership descend all the way. When you see the weak point open, detonate the second set. That's how I did it. The C70s will still be floating in mid air, so you don't need to worry about them falling from the sky when you blow them. Just wait for that weak point to show and then blast it.
@hongpingmike In the video description it lists my weapons as C70 and C70, so I could drop the first set of ten, then the second set of ten. This does leave you defenseless if you position the bombs wrong, so you've got to get it right on the first try, or you'll have to start over, because you will not have any way to shoot the mothership.
@SpunSeaLion This game benefits from you starting on Easy and then working your way up in sequence. Every piece of weaponry and armor that you find adds to the total. So by starting at the bottom rung, your total armor count keeps rising. And since you'll be overrun many times in this game, you WILL need the armor. You start with 200 armor. I couldn't finish the game on my own on Inferno until I had more than 9000 armor. Each armor icon adds one armor point to the total. Good luck. =)
@Sampson678 This is one of the most satisfying games to finish on the 360, and having the achievement for finishing Inferno actually screams that you're a hardcore gamer. =)
@Strike1x It goes from Easy, Normal, Hard, Hardest, Inferno. Inferno is no joke without the right weapons. Your armor count can go to zero in a few seconds if you get surrounded by spiders. But it is the most fun difficulty in the game to me.
Okay, I looked it up. TBA for NA in 2013. You better believe I'll upload it! It'll be a straight long play style, unlike what I was doing with EDF:IA - no annotations, pure gameplay instead. Thanks a ton for the heads up; I didn't even know about it!! Should be fun though. Yeah, I guarantee I'll do it when it comes out. =)
@Ianosh85p Place the first and second set of bombs in the area shown in the video. Detonate the first set. Wait until the ship comes down and you can see the glowing weak point. Detonate the second set of bombs to destroy the ship. The second set of bombs will not fall out of the air even though the cannon that they were on has fallen.
One of the hardest battle I ever to do on Inferno. I had to use 2 controller (one as a decoy). Right when I landed the last shot on the boss I died and kept thinking, "GOD DAMMIT I CANT DO THIS AGAIN." But then the level said Mission cleared and I was like =D
@sterlingxblue You have to place the bombs in the same place I did in the video, so that they're close enough to the center of the ship. Yes, I did wait on purpose so that the ship would descend far enough into the blast radius.
@EarthDefenceInferno The first time I finished this game, I did indeed get gunned down and die, but the Mothership was already crashing. Much to my surprise I got the Mission Complete screen. It was epic having the hero be sacrificed for ultimate victory. I plan on soloing Inferno on EDF:IA without bots. As of 8/2/2011 I'm still farming for money so I can get the Daddy Warbugs achievement. I've only gone up to 2-1, despite owning the game since launch. Grind, grind, grind. =)
@EarthDefenceInferno Like I've said - I've finished up to 1-5, but I have not started chapter 2 yet. I'm working on grinding out the Daddy Warbugs achievement at this time. I have all of the armors at Tier 8. When I make the video set, of course I'm going to use different armors for different stages. It wouldn't be as much fun otherwise!

I love how the Commander says that the Ravagers can't see the EDF retreat from battle, when in the the fifth mission when the gunships attack, he yells "Retreat!!!!" And you clear the mission by running away lol
@EarthDefenceInferno The plan is to do a video walkthrough with annotation commentary. I'm not sure when I'll be able to start. Like I said, the furthest I've gotten is finishing 1-5. I really want to get some of those achievements out of the way. I swap out armors depending, and to keep things fresh. Overall, my least favorite is Jet, but that might be because my bot allies like to shoot, blow me up, and knock me down while I'm doing things. I'll judge a little better when I'm on my own.
Using bombs was fucking genius, anyway i used a variant of this so i could survive with less armor I used Lysander Z and C70 bombs At the start grab your troops and get away from the chopper so the hector's cannons dont damage it Take down one dropship and any hector that activates, destroy the other dropship and the remainder of hectors on the map Now grab the helicopter and place the bombs on the cannon This is the only tricky part of the mission, now you need to drop down but you need to avoid the laser beam from the cannon, it isn't too hard once you get the timing right, just jump as soon as it fires and you should have plenty of time to reach the floor and get out of the way before it fires again, also you can see an scorched X so roll out of there Reunite with your troops and look for an open field, focus on destroying the cannon with the Lysander while the soldiers destroy the gunships After that just wait for the mothership to get down as shown in the video and detonate the bombs, you can make your life easier by taking the outer cannons from the mothership while you wait, they only take 1 shot from the Sniper
I didn't know that there was going to be another EDF game, but if there was, of course I'd record it, mainly as a long play. I did Insect Armageddon, but that was a bit different in comparison to this one.
@Weet1231 Pick up Armor icon drops from enemies. You start with 200 armor. Each icon gives you one point to the total. You can tell how much farming I had to do to get it up as high as it is in this video set. o_o;;
I'll make the decision when I get it, but more than likely I'll alternate between both classes for the campaign. My only hope is that there's not a ton of grinding to get everything the way there was in IA. That was aggravating...
Strange, I detonate my 2nd batch of C70's when the weak point is visible and lowered and all I get is "we did it blah blah" green balls of doom come flying out and I feel like it has more health than it should.
You've got to drop all 20 of your C70s on the very edge of the leg you're on, closest inward towards where the weak point is, otherwise it won't work. I've heard that from other people, but I've never had any problems doing it. Good luck!!
@EarthDefenceInferno On EDF:IA, I've had it since launch, but I'm working on getting the achievements out of the way. I only have single player ones left, and I've been farming in Ditchslap. I finished 1-5, but I haven't even started 2-1 yet because I want to get the "buy all weapons for all armors" achievement out of the way, and that's going to take a considerable amount of time. I've got all for Trooper, almost done with Tactical. Ways to go with the other two.
Ive tried this a thousand times, most exactly as shown in the video, but with several variation on when to fire the 2nd set. No matter what I do, the 2nd set of bombs will not damage it enough to finish it off. Such bullshit. What am I doing wrong??!!
@matrixandraia how did you set the second set of bombs without destroying the first ones first. each time i try, it only let me set 10 bombs and I cannot set anymore until I blow up the first set... pls. tell me. thanks
the graphic are better? i didnt noticed, i just thinked that playing on a portable console made the ugly graphic less noticeable (but im not complaining, thats what allow them to have huge army of huge monster) i consider the new unlockable class a small bonus, the main reason to have it on vita is for the ability to play it everywhere
@eternalnate inferno is a job if you love the game you spend made 10 -20 hours farming ants to build up your armor to beat some levels I bought this game a year 1/2 ago and have beaten inferno yet on all the levels.

@nitoro81 lol I was easily able to do this with the dual lysander Z's, but if you're not that great with sniper weapons then I would just call this an alternative method. ;)
I bought this game when it first came out but got frustrated with inferno so i traded it in at fucking gamestop and got like $5. Now i can't find it anywhere. makes me sad, this game was soooo fun!
So, I left all 20 bombs on the side of the Mothership and then jumped off and detonated the first set. The second set will stay in the air where you left it, and you detonate them when you're on the ground and the Mothership opens its weak point. This is a cheap, budget game, so of course the wouldn't fix the physics for type of thing. XD
It works I got through it one mission left and this is were grinding for armor meant something inferno on inferno I only have 8300 health I need close to the max on the reader to stand a chance have the weapons to beat it though so grinding for armor
Now i have done it, and planted the same amount of bombs as you, C70s on inferno, Just it transforms to cannon mode now ive done that.. It didnt do it for you :S
As of August 20th, 2024 - yes, working my way through EDF6 on Easy. It's slow going because I'm looking for good farming stages. Playing a stage here and there on Hard for weapons. I'm on stage 95 out of 147 because I take time to farm once in a while. I'm loving it. And yes, I will upload Inferno when I'm ready. =)
@matrixandraia it wasn´t easy but it also wasn´t that hard, nearly everyone who played this has 1k, it was awesome when it unlocked but i wouldn´t count it to the hardest to obtain.

@SuperMangoLOL No, I didn't "hack." That's what you get on Inferno difficulty. On that difficulty, it isn't much. Play it and see.

Do you wait until the ship is fully descended in mode 2? I can't figure out when to use the bombs during the 2nd phase.

i really wanted to beat this on inferno but it seems really hard...i guess its just the fact of getting better guns by playing it on a lower difficulty.
