    Seán O'Riada, Ciarán Mach Mathúna & Tony MacMahon did more for Irish Traditional Music when it wasn't popular or profitable to do it. Jasus these are powerful reels. R.I.P Peadar Mercier ♪♫ ♥

    Brilliant passion played music. I don't know what some people's problem is with the dancer. To me she's just in the zone loving the music. Why should there be some set dance routine? Its folk music for heavens sake!
    Thank you for uploading :)

    Joe Cooley was such a rarity that he could inspire the players around him to reach undreamed heights.Tony McMahon also has that power.I am referring to treading through the realm of genius

      Brilliant stuff!! It cannot be argued that tony McMahon was one of the finest, if not THE finest concertina players ever, but for me the bosh ran player gives this tune an added dimension

      @@shepsmaster McMahon was better known as an accordion player the bodhran player is great not the ''wet rag'' sound we often hear.

    The dancer was certainly getting into it. First off comes the jacket, then it looks like the skirt was coming off after 2:16 or so. After that, oddly, the camera seems to forget about her!

    Subtract the dancer & the bodhran and you're laughing.

    • @seanearnest
      @seanearnest 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I found the volume of the bodhran distracting from the melody instruments. Its thunderous WHACK! could just as easily have been done without, in my opinion. Also the dancing was not my favourite, insofar as it segued from 1-2-3's bearing some semblance of traditional dancing into an amorphous who-in-the-hell-knows. I think you'll find it isn't cheek I have but just an opinion different from your own. Get used to it. This is the Internet.
