I was cast as the cat funny thing is I wanted to be an extra because I cannot sing for the life of me and well my director said with enough character work you can act like you can sing and by gosh she was right! So don't get yourself down if you can't sing try what your heart desires and with enough hard work you can pull it off (had to dance with a senior girl during together 😂 I was a freshman at the time)

I'm auditioning for this part in my school play and I'm so freaking nervous. But I think I can do it. And if I don't get the part I'm glad I at least tried and someone else who wanted it got it :)
We did this a few years ago. The best part of the whole production process was during a runthrough in our drama, the girl playing the cat was off to the side in a sportsbra with a friend ductaping around her chest in order for it to be flat. Surpriseingly it's didn't cause any weird looks or distraction from the runthrough. God I love my Musical Theatre program....

I played the Cat two years ago and the part at 2:26 is so hard!! I was on stage singing the entire song through for the first time and everybody was watching because we were rehearsing something with everybody right after, I never practiced that part and my voice ended up cracking and I almost burst out crying!! It sounded terrible. I ended up singing that part an octave lower because it was RIDICULOUSLY high for me. Still loads of fun though!! I just loved belting out "it's a crazy little game called lunch"!

In our Honk, the Cat was this little seventh grader who was half the size of Ugly. XD But she was amazing so it didn't matter! She had an awesome voice! And Ugly was of course amazing, one of my best buds! XD
@KrazyPuffball21 Well, It depends... Ida has more solo songs but this is a crucial role. This role can make or brake the show. Make sure to really sell it and everyone will LOVE you ;) But the cat has alot of solo lines in almost every song!

I'm auditioning with this piece, though I can only get the ensemble part because my dad doesn't know if we're getting orders to move before the play or not. But this is such a fun song, and it suits my style well.

In 5th grade, we did this at my theatre. I was Penny and Maureen (the first Maureen quit, so I played 2 parts!) I love this show so much.

It depends... Ida has more solo songs but this is a crucial role. This role can make or brake the show. Make sure to really sell it and everyone will LOVE you ;) But the cat has alot of solo lines in almost every song!
