The north end of Carolina Beach is the home of Freeman Park. With the right car, or I should say Jeep or truck, you can drive out on the beach for a fun filled day at the beach or camp out overnight. There are bathrooms in two different locations throughout the park and it stretches all the way to the inlet that separates Carolina Beach and Masonboro Island.

Where can you park if youre not driving onto the beach?

Hey Emily, there isn't any public parking lots right there at the entrance to Freeman Park for someone who doesn't have 4 wheel drive to go out on the beach. There is some street parking that's a possibility and a few public parking lots closer to town. You'd then have to walk a bit to get to Freeman Park but it's best to have a Jeep and just drive out on the beach. :)
