I have seen them live twice and they have the same energy and enjoyment of performing as their videos always smiling just so much talent on stage do not know how Leonid keeps them one of his talents
the best thing, bar none, about this band ... are the smiles. they reach out from the video and grab you by the heart. its always just a big basket of smiles and joy. its evident on your face as well Jeff.
Jeff: Another great reaction; another great song that I have not appreciated enough. I notice that boy-wonder guitarist Rox Bro’ Alexander P. Is also featured here. After his performances on My Old School and Stormbringer he’s got my attention. Leonid really knows how to pick and choose doesn’t he.
These guys just keep hitting them out of the park. Konnie is a hell of a player. Now you done did it Jeff, I'll probably be up late listening to music. Ok, I listen to music all day anyway 😁😎
Chicago started in 1967 and ToP started in 1968. Both sound very similar. If you'd like to see L&F play a ToP song, search for So Very Hard To Go. You'll be impressed.
it wouldn't surprise me that James Pankow was the horn arranger. He did most of it and his is very distinctive for sure. Still one of my favorite groups of the 70s - 80s. Steely Dan and EWF being the others.
Jeff, what you’ve got to do is open two TH-cam windows, then get the original Chicago version of this, or any other Chicago tune, then in the other window get the Leonid recording of the same tune, and play them at the same time, synced up. It will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!! They will be exactly the SAME!!!! Same tempo, same vocals, same horns, same rhythm section. YOU’VE GOT TO TRY THIS!!!!!!!
I would imagine that anyone who is a performer, aware of the virtuosity and brilliance that IS Leonid and Friends? Who gets a call from Leonid? Is invited to perform with them? Has to considered it one of the highest honors that could be accorded them. I don't work in the realm of music but rather art, mentoring young men of high talent and virtue (sms) and writing. "No brag, just fact" - I draw to me by a similar alchemy - "magically" - as does Leonid, men and women of similar ilks. Only the best of the best talents can pass or rise up to and meet Leonid's standards. Long may his and his assemblage of premiere performers' flag wave.
Jeff, you asked…here it is! Alive Again is from their 1978 album Hot Streets. This recording is significant. When Terry Kath tragically lost his life to a stupid self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, the band AND the public thought that this was the end of Chicago. Terry was the heart and soul of the band and their brother, lost forever. This tune was a battle cry that after a significant period of mourning, the band was back with a new guitar player - Alive Again! Thanks Jeff for your incredible works on your channel! I’m looking forward forward to hearing you upcoming reactions to my requests, Return to Forever live and Paul McCartney tribute at Lincoln Center!😮😮
Hey! I just wanted to say thank you for all the great content. Unfortunately, I'm going to unsubscribe. I have a good reason - a serious ear infection in January left me completely deaf, and being reminded of all the good music I'm missing here is kinda hard. I wish you, Iron Kim and the channel all the very best.
The horn arrangements you speak of are all Jimmy Pankow... true music genius.
Leonid pull's these lead singers of quality like a magician pulls rabbits out of a hat. What an amazing group,
both instrumentally and vocally.
Some of the best vocals I have ever heard
Mikal on lead vocal... perfect! Another fantastic performance. 👍👍 LP - "Hot Streets" 1978
They’ve nailed this one too😂🎉🎉🎉
Michael had some big shoes to fill when Serge couldn’t return to L&F. He’s equally amazing. Happy you like this one too!!
"Alive Again" is off Chicago XII 'Hot Streets'. This is 1st album after Terry Kath passed away, released 1979.
I don't understand.
the beginning of the end of Chicago. soon to be ballad band.
It doesn't get mentioned as often as it should, but the audio engineering on these L&F videos is as good as it gets.
The lead guitarist slays this piece. Just awesome.
Brilliant performance once again! Top notch

Another great song by leonid and friends ❤. Thanks Jeffy👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

This song came from the Hot Streets album (1978). The first album the group made after Terry Kath passed away.
"Happy Man" by this group is amazing.
I have to look that one up now! Didn’t know they remade that one, too.

@@CactusCatt I already did. Man it was killer.
Come back hit after terry died... Fantastic
Thanks, Jeff. Another clean rendition. 👍
Written by James Pankow in 1978. Showcased Peter Cetera as lead vocalist.
Wow. The vocals are fantastic
FYI Jeff. The guy on the red guitar is one of the Rox Bros.
Ohhh right! Thanks for the reminder!

Awesome.. I saw Chicago in the early 80s when they visited Melbourne played this.. I was 13 and the band blew my mind. This cover is spectacular.
Hot Streets album 1978 "No tell Lover" released as single off record charted at 14. " Love was new" (Robert Lamm) one of my favorites
Every time L&F performs in KAnsas City, we buy tickets as close as they’ll sell ‘em. Always an epic good time and world class musicians.
This song was a single off the "Hot Streets" album Chicago's First album following Terry Kath's death. Leonid's bunch sounds exactly like them.

Horn section! ❤
Love This Song!!! Great Song to have on your Wake-Up ALARM!!! Thanks Jeff and Requesters!

Leonid bringing Chicago "Alive again" so apropos. Thanks Jeff!!! I did not know that song either. But great!!
Jeff- if you are a fan of Chicago's you have to react to "Woman Don't Want To Love Me" covered brilliantly by Leonid and Friends!!
Perfect!
Absolutely
Woooooooow😮❤
Music mix is amazing. So are the video cuts.
Correct
I think this song was written by Robert Lamm as a tribute to the recently departed guitarist Terry Kath, in 1978.

Hot Streets
Jeff, I really hope you get to see Leonid & Friends when they come through SoCal during the Fall Tour. You will NOT be disappointed!
I will for sure
I have to admit, this kid has better vocal range than Sergio.😎
As good not better
@@janicemartin7560 let’s agree to disagree.😎
Hey Jeff, just announced, L&F at Saban Theater, Beverly Hills on 11/16/2024!
Omg!!!!!! I’m there!
The song came from thr Hot Street album it was the first album after Terry Kaths death.
Not the most interesting composition in the Chicago catalogue, but wonderfully redone by Leonid.
You should listen to their cover of EWF Boogie wonderland, it's amazing.
Jeff did a reaction hours after it was dropped on YT. Check it out here on this channel.

@@StrateleStudios Thank you Jeff. It's been tough, but I have wonderful support in my family and friends 😊.
