Do not get down! I can say at least personally, you provide a pick me up once a week. I still intend to follow in your footsteps (minus more kids) once my kids get through school. Anything mechanical is going to have issues. You are making it happen and overall making progress.
The tracking feature for Patreons is totally awesome. Its not just tracking of their location. But it has great captains logs with awesome stories. They are currently stuck in the Maldives waiting for paperwork with plenty of drama. Hopefully able to continue cruising today or tomorrow. ❤️The honesty of Ben & Ashley. Its not a sanitized of over dramatized TH-cam channel they are the real deal.

You have one of the finest, most reliable Diesel engines ever built as near to bullet proof. I have retired w/ over 60 yrs turning wrenches w/ most of that time working on Diesel engines of many different makes. I am 77 yrs. old and watch you often since I found you on U-Tube. May I suggest that you set up a vented jury can with a supply line and proper fittings to get fuel from the bottom of the can to the primary filter after removing and sealing the supply line from the main tank. Don't forget to get another line called a return line for unused fuel to return to the jury can. This line is usually located after the injectors. This will depend on the system your engine has. You will be looking for a second line from your main fuel tank. Not rocket science. This will give you piece of mind when in a bind. Those engines love clean fuel and mostly that is all they need. Another thing if you have not done this yet would be to install what is known as a Racor filter ahead of your primary filter. These are a top-of-the-line filter and catch a lot of water and crap. You guys have a lot of grit and I hope you can continue your life journey for many years to come. My wife and I have been married for 53 years and you four have seen more of the world in your young lives then we have in all of ours. My mind loves your adventures undertaking and makes me wish I could be with you when a problem arises. That life is not a piece of cake and some times survival from a thunder storm helps to bond a relationship. I got long winded again, may God keep you all safe and healthy.
Good days and bad… we all got ‘em. My bad day today was getting ready to relocate an office from Missouri to Kansas. My good day… I’ll still be working, but in Kansas… and watching your videos.
Huge hugs to you two xxx I see you being so brave by challenging yourselves with your epic family adventures. Lifes roller coaster of highs and lows can suck, so I’m sorry to see you when it gets tough. But seeing you come up the other side with such a positive outlook and a ton of love is heart warming xxx
This is so ironic. I'm reading Julie Bradley's second book, Crossing Pirate Waters. They leave Thailand taking your same route. Here we get to see it in person. Safe travels!!
I can absolutely relate to the feelings that come up under the kind of pressure these delays must bring. And hazards that radar does not see must be daunting. I bet realizing you are finally sailing eases that, if slowly. Since i am seeing this I know that you are ok and that Nahoa is again a Sailing vessel sailing. My favorite sailing family is afloat and the world is spinning right again.
Great video, keep the spirits up and hope you will get lots of 🐟. Happy to do you hear that you are doing fine we were a little bit worried about your passage at this time. Greetings from the Seyshelles 🇸🇨 👋

Once you get to the Maldives, suggest you do some scuba diving. One day, I went out and sat in the sand, on the bottom of the sea. (At about 70-80 foot deep, near a reef.) Leaned back and looked up. The view of the fish life was astonishing, wonderful. Then, 5 or so giant manta rays swam and danced above me. Swooping and swirling and diving close by, curious. Absolutely magical.
Guys, I love your videos and I am rooting for you guys to make it and continue this awesome journey. Keep at it and wishing your wonderful family the best. Watching this video, I felt like I wanted to help Ben with the fuel tank issue. You guys have been through a lot.
4:59 That Hand signal means "Come Here", it is common all over south east Asia. In the west an open palm is welcoming, so the palm is turned to the sky and does the exact same motion, welcoming someone to come to you. However, since also in the west, if done with the palm facing the ground, it's usually meant for unwelcoming, and to shoo something like animals or insects away, and is disrespectfully done to a person, so for sure, this gesture can be confusing to people from the west. See all the Halogen lamps on board, come night time, those lads will be hard at work. They probably wanted to sell or trade some of the squid and fish they catch. 🙂
Try to use a plainer and get the lurer down below the surface. So your running a top plug and a bottom plug. Cheers. Looking good. Glad your making passage. Calm seas looks nice
The memories which you're making for yourselves! The memories of past sailing of which you're reminding me (and others!), sailing with family and learning skills which have helped in life since first riding the waves. Thank you!
I believe the steel cylinders are a fuel supply. They can stay out longer. Try not to get one stuck between your hulls. Because of their shape they don't show up on radar very well at all. You can see lots of them on the beach in southern Philippines getting repairs.
The Zatara crew are ahead of you…winds low….lots of fishermen in small boats with motherships close by. They more worried about their nets etc. Home it’s the same…Vic got its first cruise ship Mixed weather in Vancouver…..and I’m hosting a neighborhood bbq on my front lawn today….it’s my retirement party, lol….mayor and rcmp attending….wishing I was sailing, lol. Missed you guys so very much last week and so happy you're back on Nahoa! Keep up the hard work and awesome content! By far the best channel on the tube! Love you all and safe travels!
Great to see you on your way. That was lovely seeing the fishing boat from India and the wave. Must be such a blast for you guys! kids seem happy or was that well edited! Willa got her sea legs o.k too. Great stuff, may you continue safely. 👌💯
There is very heavy ship traffic between Rondo L/H and the southern tip is Sri Lanka. Recommend staying at least 10 miles south of that thumb line and you will not have much ship traffic
15 yrs living in Thailand and now 6 yrs in the Asian Sth West Visayos Group that down waving means "Come Here" Same as you waving for someone to come to you. SurfingLife with Malcolm
@5:35 the waving in Indonesia mostly means 'come come', even police officers standing in crossing sections guiding traffic, waving above their head means 'come come'. these fishermen must be bored and just wanted to talk.
Need to rig up a Willa cam and have her provide some video footage from her view. Love watching your videos and dream of one day renting, then owning a catamaran. Safe travels to all!!

This is an outstanding life. Not everyone can do what you do. Life in the ocean with raising your kids in the boat is something that average people can't do . Admiring life! Have a safe journey to Maldives. All best for you.... from Indonesia
The hand waving meaning [at 5:40] means, "Come here" and not "Go that way"; essentially it's the same as the Western "Come Here" index finger beckoning sign. In Japan at least.. Perhaps they wanted you to go over to them to interact/trade?
Fishing Cam is an awesome idea. Have you ever considered having a camera mounted just underneath the boat while at anchor to see what swims by on any given day/night. That would be a fun glimpse into the wonderful world upon which you live. Thanx for the content as always, really big fans of you and the family.
On your next boat, It would be very cool if you got a Schionning Arrow 1360 like the boat called Duet. That's what I want. They have it set up where there is an office on the starboard side all the way forward. It's a supper sweet set up and there would be plenty of room for your kids just the way that they have it set up. This type of boat is perfectly set up to go fast and still carry all of your gear.
The first fishing ship you saw is for sure from Aceh, and you 're probably sailing north of Banda Aceh (I live there). Their hand sign means they're asking you to come closer to them. They just want to interact with you I guess.
~5:10, it means come here or go. I'm in the Philippines for 2+ years, traffic cops make that same, looks like they are waving at you when it's your time to go. Never get used to it... looks funny lol
That boat was from the state of kerala,India. If you noticed the boat was called Annimarya or Ann-maria with the crucifix in front so catholics which is most typical for keralite fisherman. You guys shoukd have traded for the awesome fish curries
Your love of sailing out beats any fears you guys might have about sailing around the world with two small children. What if something happens with the children, getting sick, high fevers or something else. How do you deal with it? When my kids where small I can't count how many times I had to take them to the Drs or the Hospital because of one thing or another. You guys take a lot of risks. No fear.
I follow about five cruising channels (yours is right up there) and my takeaway is this. You have to REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want this lifestyle cause man ... these boats are such money pits! Not only that but it seems like the work to fun ratio is at best 70%/30%. But on a positive note (😉) ... kudos to you guys for making it work for you cause you have to follow your dreams whatever they are.
