I think you should’ve covered the shadow section of Sonic x Shadow generations after clicking past the initial jpeg of a title screen. It’s not technically a title screen since it’s where you choose whether to play Sonic generations or Shadow generations, but I still think it was noteworthy
Think you're underselling the HD Sonic Unleashed title screen a bit. It seems boring at first but once you press start it shows the Earth split into pieces, and when you select continue it seamlessly transitions into the world map, that's what makes it appealing really

Yeah and what they didn't mention is that the background on the title screen represents the last track you raced on. It's a really neat touch that I think earns it a few extra points at least.
first off, why colors ultimate? shit port, literally chose the ugliest version. second, you completely missed the OG Sonic adventure logo and skipped to SADX. Sonic adventure has one of the best title screens in the franchise and you showed SADX and colors ultimate gimme a break

There was nothing to noteworthy on sonic adventures, so I talked about the dx port instead. I didn’t skip over anything I just chose not to talk about it.
Personal favorite of mine is Sonic '06. The animated Kingdom Valley background with the bright blue sky and castle plus the instrumental of His World playing in the background is iconic.
fun fact: in the original Genesis version of Sonic 1 (and, consequently, every emulated version of it, like Mega Collection for example), has a bug with the title screen where everything is misaligned 8 pixels to the left. one of those things where when you notice it you can't un-notice it. you're welcome
7:11 i like the fact that because it's a racing game involving karts the ring that's usually in the logo is a steering wheel this time 12:20 i think you need to take into account the HD Sonic Unleashed title screen updates as you keep playing. showing the fractured planet that slowly goes back into place as you keep playing. if we're going to acknowledge the new game plus title screen for Forces we should acknowledge the progressive title screen for Unleashed
SXSG title screen looks like Modern and Classic Sonic were running in for a cool timed photo, and then Shadow just rushes in out of nowhere and accidentally gets included in the photo.
This may be a hot take but I do really like the Unleashed (Xbox 360/PS3) title screen due to the fact that it kinda gives off Star Wars vibes and how the world adventure plays makes it feel like your watching a movie but otherwise good vid dude!
That doesn't even answer the question the thumbnail asked, "what happened to Sonic's title screen?". By that title, you assume the creator will investigate on the downfall of Sonic title screens and then give a speculation on why it happens, but nooo, all he did was give his personal opinions on each title screen and that's it. Would be better off renaming this video "rating every Sonic title screen".
2:17 I just noticed Sonic’s expression compared to Tails, Tails looks excited while Sonic’s like “Do i really have to do this again with an annoying fox”
The best part of the Mania title screen that I don't see too many people mention is that the first few frames with that red light is the power LED from a model 1 Genesis, and the electricity is supposed to be the system powering on into the game's title screen.
Interesting rundown. You seem to have omitted the original (Dreamcast) Sonic Adventure which had a more simplistic title screen without any "Sonic" elements, but instead some simple but effective texture work hinting at the "adventure" part, which was a big aspect of SA's design philosophy and Sonic Team's vision in bringing the franchise to 3D.
I was gonna say before you got to it, but yeah, the Sonic 06 title screen is really aestheticly pleasing. The music, the colors, the environment, the slick logo, the significance of Kingdom Valley in the story... Sonic 06 in general had a lot of potential to hit all the marks if the game wasn't so rushed.
My only complaint with Shadow 05's title screen is i wish they did a bit more with the text on the side, having it alternate between "ultimate lifeform" alongside some other phrases important to the game like "find the truth" and "her last wish" as a quick example
The Sonic 1 title screen's ring and the ribbon are lifted directly from the 1980s Dr.Slump: Arale-chan's opening animation. The emblem appears 8 seconds into the anime opening. They weren't even subtle about it. You could even argue the wings behind the emblem were lifted from Arale-chan's cap that has very similar 3-feathered white wings on them on each side of the cap.

Good video but I really don’t like how certain games skipped and some Game Gear games being looked at but not all the unique ones, there’s just no rhyme or reason. Knuckles Chaotix has an amazing title screen with lots of animation that you would’ve loved. Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure also have good title screens. Heck even Sonic Labyrinth has animation in it. Hey now, don't slander the Shadow Generations title. The image itself still looks pretty good. Also if you open up the game, you can select either game and they have yet another title screen for specifically Shadow's section while also bringing back the old title screen from original Sonic Generations. You're selling the whole experience short.
Sonic Frontiers Title screen is one of worst ones in whole franchise in my opinion, just white text with boring font. Even Tail's Adventure has a better Title screen
The giant ring with wings on it wasnt unique to Sonic. It was something Sega was doing with some of their games at the time. IIRC they also did it for Wonder Boy 3 Monster Lair and also something similar with Alex Kidd The Lost Stars

The sounctrack is awesome, I like the characters, i like the graphics and cutomization, also sanic is in it, and the levels can also feel fun sometimes. So it is actually not as bad as everyone says.
The thing about Sonic’s model in DX is that they had a slightly different looking version of it. Nothing major is changed. But for some reason, for the Director’s Cut, they decided to make him unnecessarily shiny for no reason. Like, Heroes shiny. His blue isn’t the problem, but the fact they shined my boy like a pair of leather boots. Everything else you said about the screen is correct, though. Way too much blue in way too many places, and they got rid of the killer logo from the original.
I'm surprised that you took SA:DX title screen instead of iconic original SA one with clear highlighted letters and a background where you can see the major locations crucial to the game and even hints at the plot (Lost Temple in Mystic Ruins and destroyed Station Square).
After recording the script and editing the video, I realize that we missed it and should’ve talked about so if we do make a follow up, I will definitely make sure to bring it up
