I'm so excited to watch this! But I'm kinda waiting for the rest of the musicians reaction since they love akmu so dang much 😂 **cough** Hugo and Gwen **cough**
I really love akmu. even if they try a new concept, they still seem to have that akmu feel. Chanhyuk is such a talented musician, and both him and Soohyun are such a perfect blend. (Also, if you could, please react to Red Velvet - Red Flavor ~)
You think it's a very adventurous song about two siblings going on a trip to find a dinosaur but many people have said that they cried half-way through without knowing why. It's because Dinosaur is a representing word for debt collector. The song is about Chanhyuk's childhood fear of debt collectors barging on their home as children and yelling at his parents to pay up because they were a poor family as children and were in a lot of debt. That's why in the song, there are lyrics saying that if the debt collectors appear again, they would yell louder than the debt collectors. It's a sad song that has a very bouncy vibe to it.
You know, that kind of ties in with those weird bubbles in the beginning coming through the air ducts. They look intriguing at first but why a dusty dark green color? Because they're pollutants entering the household? Like the debt collectors polluting their childhood?
Even though they're fans of AKMU, I am still as strict with their music as I am with any other group. A lot of them stan BP but i won't be making them react to AIIYL. Please read the description.
gOOD I wasn't the only one that felt like crying at that same part hahah God I love AKMU so much 💖 #AKMUisMyDarling ~~ (pls use that hashtag on twitter!) This actually reminds me of a track from their Play Album??? just a little... I'm waiting for the subs to know what the song says :') I feel like it could be about not being afraid??
Wow. I got goosebumps when you said "why do I feel like crying?". It totally made sense if you really understood the meaning of the lyrics at that moment (I understand that you don't understand, but it was so surprising that you actually felt the moment). Suffering from things such as bullies or debt collectors, they are singing that they are going to cry out to them next time. I hope that you can get that message. The flow of the song and what it implies are very subtle.
You can tell how much a genius Chan Hyuk is and how his inspiration reaches out everywhere.. the song context is about the fear and uneasiness AKMU experienced from debt collectors destroying their livelyhood when they were young. In the lyrics it begins stating how their family lived happily in the 빈지하
I really like the song! Their voices, the harmonies between them, Suhyun's high notes on the chorus... It's like... beatiful... I don't know just give me a good vibe xD
I'm crying my eyes out every time I listen to this... idk why exactly xD maybe here 'uhuuhu' does this ...bc it's so melancholic kind of ... and the whole MV reminds me of an fantasy anime like Digimon or something and I'm living for it ;;
I had the same thought as you when I first watched the video and listened to the song! But the song has grown so much to me since I watched their live performances on this song, because dang, it's so awesome istg
thank you for reaction so quickly. i hope u check the lyrics. u can understand dinosaur is something(or someone) make them scared when they are child, who just know the small peaceful world (family). akmu everytime make their lyrics have deep meaning.
IT'S SOMETIMES SO HARD TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE MV or lyric video because i try so hard to catch what's happening in the music that my other senses low key shut down x'DDD
I had to stop watching the video to "hear" the verses. Also I don't appreciate the visual themes of the video very much , yet?, so I found them detracting. Time to look up the lyrics.. listening to Kpop can get so complicated (&fun)!
These two are amazing! I've watched their live and Su Hyun was singing the "Woo" part live. But I read somewhere that they're not going to perform on music shows for this comeback.
I'm not a big fan of EDM, and to be honest I wasn't that interested when they said Dinosaur going to be somewhat EDM-y, but in the end I've been playing this song over and over lol I love how Chanhyuk still put their acoustic style although they made it into an EDM. It doesn't disappoint. This EDM still has AKMU vibe all over it
It's about overcoming fears. The Dinosaur is all the fears they had, at the end of the song Suhyun sings a line about roaring louder than that Dinosaur. I hope this made sense.
Chanhyuk releases song descriptions for every song he writes btw. This is talking abt their "dinosaur", so basically when they were young they lived in the basement of a building/house type thing. In Asia, if you're dirt poor, that's where you live. She says "there's mouse holes in the bathroom doors" because they lived in the basement and it was likely terrible. But she goes on to say they were still happy. In the last few verses she talks about a dinosaur that "screamed at her family" and "wrecked their window" and in Asia loan sharks will bust in your home and wreck things up to scare people into paying debts. So likely to a young child they looked like dinosaurs and terrified and traumatized them to see strange men terrorizing and screaming at their family, busting in at a moment's notice.
AKMU is one of those artists that can take on any genre and still make it their own. Not to mention that they always deliver. That's what I appreciate about YG. The label lets them have creative freedom when it comes to their music and we've been blessed multiple times because of that.
Omg same. I love akmu but I wasnt a huge fan of the song when i first heard it. I only heard it again after i watched the CMR vid and absolutely loved it. And im loving it more, the more i listen to it.
I know you probably won’t see this but I really love your reactions! You are honest if you don’t like or really like something and give reasons why do you do or don’t like something. You are also very stunning and I love seeing how your facial expressions change when you hear something new or interesting! Your eyes give away how you feel to me and I love watching your and the other musicians reactions with my mom or dad whenever they can’t quite understand why I like the music. You and the others explain things that I love in musical or just purely emotional and biased ways and it helps them see why I love the songs or artists. I didn’t mean to drag this out but again thank you! You and the others really make my day and help me understand the production behind the music! Please tell the reactors to stay healthy and make sure that they eat and sleep enough and the same goes to you! I’d be heartbroken to know that you are pushing yourself to keep up with this channel and keep up with school. Take care of yourself and love yourself. Everyone on this channel is beautiful in their own ways and has their little quirks that make them special!
thank you for your reaction💜 oh how I am in love with this song and with AkMu..also I watched live performance for this song and also My darling 💜💜hoooollllly......that was perfect!
umu..now u r one of the best reactors. u pay attention. give musical information. expressive. its so genuine, honest and objective. i really love it! ur character is my style too. =P keep it up!
Yaay thanks for reacting!!:) I can totally relate, I kinda had mixed feelings in the beginning (also bc I found it strange to hear the word dinosaur😂) but after listening to it a few times I love this song😍
I think the build up and pull back for the riff is on purpose and really important for the feel of the song. Thinking along the lines of debt collectors and how they as children might have handled it, the tension seems to build up to a breaking point, but then it doesn't drop; instead, it launches into the beautifully sung melody. I feel that this speaks of their strength and brilliant resolve in choosing to handle the bullshit of life by transforming it into beautiful music. Is it possible not to respect and be moved by such a thing?
I FELT LIKE CRYING TOOOO OMG THE SONG AND THE MV STORY IS SO GOOD EVEN IF THEY SHOWN DIFFERENT COLORS THEY BOTH STILL CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER AND JUST OMG They had a dream that they kept chasing even though they knew it didn't exist (is not a fantasy) anymore and they were laughed at for trying omggg 😢
Chanhyuk releases song descriptions for every song he writes btw. This is talking abt their "dinosaur". Chanhyuk and Suhyun grew up in really poor conditions. When they were young they lived in the basement of a building/house type thing. They'll literally just bust in with no respect for privacy. So likely to a young child they looked like dinosaurs and terrified and traumatized them to see strange men terrorizing and screaming at their family, busting in at a moment's notice. It's so sad and amazing that they grew up in such terrible conditions and are still so humble. And then they go on to say "if I ever see you again I will roar louder than you". For most of popular kpop the lyrics are literally any generic pop song. But seriously, for akmu's songs if you don't go and find translations to lyrics if you don't know Korean and you don't look for the meaning behind the song you're missing out on so much. Every single song they've composed has meaning and it's really great. I wish more people would appreciate AKMU.
Yes I'm so glad I'm not the only on who almost cried when watching this the first time. I got so emotional the first time and had chills but also I felt light and peaceful after it.
I also felt like crying exactly at the same point as you did!! If you read the lyrics later you will see why they look "stressed out" ... In the lyrics, "In my childhood, there's Dinosaur that appeared in my dream (...) I had no idea. Dinosaur freaked me out who was young (...) if I see it again, I'll shout out louder than you." Dinosaur here represents what scared them in their childhood. It could be mere imaginary monster a child might be afraid of but also an unknown world of adult that gives fear to a child just because they don't know it. In the lyrics, they also said that when they woke up with fear after having deamed of Dinosaur, parents hugged them to comfort. I think that element of family in the memory of their childhood remains in music, which I think made us have teary eyes out of blue.
At first I also didn't vibe with this song compared to their previous tracks but listening to it more, it got stuck in my head to the point where I catch myself trying to sing the chrous' "oooh ooh" part and end up sounding like I'm dying. Also reading a bit more into the lyrics got me too
This MV story has a Terabithia feel to it. They were having a hard time in the real world, but that fantastic place with the ancient creatures made them discover strenght within them, like an inner dinosaur that is stronger that bullies or any other adversities.
I kinda felt like this song wants to convey the message that you should stay true to yourself and your passion, even If no one supports you and that is freaking beautiful.
Its funny because for me it had sad undertones with the bouncy and happy feel. I'm not too sure hpw to explain it but like the sad tinge you feel when you're reminiscing your young memories because the fact your remembering means that era left and you no longer are a child in the literal meaning (though you can always be in heart). Yet it is happy because you can always look forward to the future and remain hopeful. There also seems to be a little thing that feels 'missing' the the song and maybe it is reflective on life? (Like how you mention there is a lack of a melody) perhaps it was intentional or I'm weird... This just captures life for me in a sense. I can be laughing and SEEM to be having the time of my life but there are sad undertones even in the moment I'm laughing my head off. I try to distract myself with my fantasies and create escapes for my sanity. Perhaps that is the purpose of their 'dinosaur'. It is their fantasy to escape bullying - for chanhyuk, and the regular life just indoors- suhyun. Am I reading too much into this or does anyone else feel this way? @_@;;
I'd like to see your friends reacting to this as well. And many people have said that Suhyun voice was auto-tuned for the high parts, should show the live version of them doing this song. It always amazes me.
I love this song! Surprisingly, EDM fits them pretty well. But am I the only one who giggles when they say "dinosaur?" I mean, out of all the English words to choose, they picked....dinosaur. I don't know what the word means in the context of the song, but just listening through it casually, dinosaur felt...cheesy?? That's not quite the right word but I can't think of a better one.
Did you read the translated lyrics? It's a word that likely symbolizes either something scary and larger than oneself or something that is of the imagination of a child.
No, i didn't read them yet! My comment was based on how the song came across the first time I listened without any idea of the meaning of the Korean lyrics. But it's AKMU, so I figured there was some deep meaning
Brittany L Chanhyuk releases song descriptions for every song he writes btw. So likely to a young child they looked like dinosaurs and terrified and traumatized them to see strange men terrorizing and screaming at their family, busting in at a moment's notice. They had a hard childhood.
How about reacting to Lee Jin ah ?? Like her "Random "or "i'm full " or "time slow down" .She is making very unique music with piano. And she has a very special voice. Maybe you can go to check and make your musicians react to it .thx
I think the story in this MV is about how they grow up and they remember the times when they were kids and played together like chasing dinosaurs :) I really like it that way although it makes me kind of sad
I think this song is about looking back at one's childhood fears (dinosaur) with fondness. There's a tinge of melancholic nostalgia for those fears. Yet the use of EDM makes me think that they're rooted in the present. So, it makes me think that they're also saying that they are not going to look back with too much sentimentality. It's an interesting take on growing up.
This song is definitely one that grows on you :) that being said, I don't think the musicians would have a good first impression of the song, like Yunyi. Based on their Melted/Last Goodbye reaction, they seem to think of AKMU as artists who are cheerful and cute and as Umu said, acoustic, but I think what truly defines them are relatable lyrics expressed in unique concepts and their sweet vocals!! Also, they are still very young and they compose their songs so I totally don't mind seeing them experiment with different genres. It would be different if their company gave them an edm song with generic lyrics and beats.
My personal theory is that the dinosaur is a throwback to their childhood where they would use these really outlandish fantasies to escape from the bullying and stresses of reality. Also the music itself feels a lot like the music I used to listen to forever and a half ago. Like I know that he's being influenced by the current edm trends but I remember listening to owl city in middle school and this song reminds me so much of an owl city style in some ways that I can't help but feel very nostalgic.
umu if you end up showing the others this song you should know it's about akmu's family's economical struggles and how there were people how went to their house to ask for their debt and that scared chanhyuk! the lyrics are so good and emotional
I am a huge fan of Umu's work but you can tell she's a bit nonplussed all the way through this. It's actually a really dark song but no-one was expecting that. I guess we all thought , "dinosaurs, oh yes they're like Barbie dolls for 5-year old boys, so this will be a whimsical song", but it turned out the Lees were thinking of the actual terrifying predator animals. Underestimate AKMU at your own risk! And it also makes me appreciate how Umu is still one of us despite her fame.
I think you should make the other classical musicians react to this song while also giving them the meaning and the story behind the lyrics! Cause its really a beautiful song loll Btw love your videos! Keep up the good work and God bless you alwayss 😍😍😍
Hey umu!!! can you please make Classical Musicians react to the ENTIRETY of exo's new album??? I'm really curious to know what they think of the album more than just Kokobop because the album is a fusion of so many genres and it's really complex!! please^^
i read somewhere that the dinosaurs are the objects of nightmares that chanhyuk had as a child, which were manifestations of the debt collectors who often came by their home and scared them.
Literally her vocals can raise the dead it's scary. My ears literally crave her voice wtf
I'm so excited to watch this!
But I'm kinda waiting for the rest of the musicians reaction since they love akmu so dang much 😂
**cough** Hugo and Gwen **cough**
sameeeeee, i hope the rest of her friends in this video. Oh i miss Hugo so much
Nightingale Infired **cough** yunyi and kevin **cough**
Nightingale Infired same here! i'll be waiting for the gang's reaction too!!
Nightingale Infired I asked them to react to it,still waiting
Omg!!!me too!!!!
I really love akmu. even if they try a new concept, they still seem to have that akmu feel. Chanhyuk is such a talented musician, and both him and Soohyun are such a perfect blend. (Also, if you could, please react to Red Velvet - Red Flavor ~)
Zeru Desu - Exactly what you said! 😍 😍 😍
The last time I was this early the dinosaurs weren't extinct
haha your comeback is on point
Han Tran - as Lauren said, I don't usually care for those "The last time...", but yours was masterfully done! 😍 😍 😍 😍
Arent certain reptiles closely related to dinosaurs or havent evolved much since then or something like that.
Technically yes, but I"m referring more to dinosaurs collectively XD
You think it's a very adventurous song about two siblings going on a trip to find a dinosaur but many people have said that they cried half-way through without knowing why. You know, that kind of ties in with those weird bubbles in the beginning coming through the air ducts. They look intriguing at first but why a dusty dark green color? Because they're pollutants entering the household? Like the debt collectors polluting their childhood?
GURL you don't even know how RELATABLE YOUR REACTIONS ARE
you should let your friends react to it too, they're akmu fans too
Even though they're fans of AKMU, I am still as strict with their music as I am with any other group. A lot of them stan BP but i won't be making them react to AIIYL. Please read the description.
ReacttotheK what is AIIYL 🤔
gummy smile it stands for 'As If It's Your Last'
gummy smile as if its your last
Sky and Tea ohhh... haha.. thanks! 😅
gOOD I wasn't the only one that felt like crying at that same part hahah
God I love AKMU so much 💖 #AKMUisMyDarling ~~ (pls use that hashtag on twitter!)
This actually reminds me of a track from their Play Album??? just a little...
I'm waiting for the subs to know what the song says :') I feel like it could be about not being afraid??
IchigoYuukiTsu yesss, i was thinking the same thing, but the songs i thought are from the 'spring' album, 'idea' and 'green window'...
Wow. I got goosebumps when you said "why do I feel like crying?". same reaction on that part 4:31 where i also feel like crying and i don't know why or what's about w/ dinasour to be feel like crying
These two are amazing! I've watched their live and Su Hyun was singing the "Woo" part live. But I read somewhere that they're not going to perform on music shows for this comeback.
I'm not a big fan of EDM, and to be honest I wasn't that interested when they said Dinosaur going to be somewhat EDM-y, but in the end I've been playing this song over and over lol
I love how Chanhyuk still put their acoustic style although they made it into an EDM. It doesn't disappoint. This EDM still has AKMU vibe all over it
I read somewhere that the song is about how it's okay to believe in your childhood dreams despite the adults, but I'm not too sure.
It's about overcoming fears. The Dinosaur is all the fears they had, at the end of the song Suhyun sings a line about roaring louder than that Dinosaur. I hope this made sense.
It made sense. I just recently went back to their MV and someone who's Korean explained the true meaning of it which made it even more deep.
Yeah, I read it as well. I don't know much Korean, so I guessed it based on what I got. But it's such a good deep song.

Yes I'm so glad I'm not the only on who almost cried when watching this the first time. I got so emotional the first time and had chills but also I felt light and peaceful after it.
Not the first time I heard this song, but I LITERALLY get goosebumps EVERYTIME I hear them sing
Me! I felt like crying too IDK WHY! This song is up beat but I feel like the lyrics are like emotional or smt!! I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS SONG! 💕💕
this song like warm sun at afternoon and sweet windy. it give you calm feeling in summer
"Why i do feel like crying?"
I literally crying in the middle. 😣😣
The "huuu" part killed me i thought it was an instrument at first but i saw SUHYUN SANG IT LIVE IM SHOOKT!
Dude, I know right?! THEY ARE HAPPY BUT WHY AM I CRYING?!
It has a very nostalgic feeling to it, doesn't it?
Ive never clicked so fast!! #NotificationSquad
I also felt like crying exactly at the same point as you did!!

AKMU did a live on V live today, and they sang Dinosaur!
And Soohyun was singing that uhu~ riff thing all live. It was crazy!
umu this song is so precious and has a diffirent story if you look it further...i really love AKMU..chanhyuk is a genius
I felt that i would cry in the end too, idk, i just found the vibe beautiful, it gave me a good feeling💫
and that ohhh ooooh oooh (LOL) PART OF SOOHYUN. IS PERF AF. I thought it's just an effect until I watched the live version
Thanks for your reaction Umu, you were so happy 😆😆

omg i literally got teary at the same part where YOU got teary!!
you should watch the live performance. it is amazing! It shows that suhyun voice is magical! even chanhyuk's voice is superb!
Please ask your friends to react to this too.. They love AKMU so much and I love to watch them react to AKMU!!

I'm not too sure hpw to explain it but like the sad tinge you feel when you're reminiscing your young memories because the fact your remembering means that era left and you no longer are a child in the literal meaning (though you can always be in heart). Yet it is happy because you can always look forward to the future and remain hopeful. There also seems to be a little thing that feels 'missing' the the song and maybe it is reflective on life? (Like how you mention there is a lack of a melody) perhaps it was intentional or I'm weird... This just captures life for me in a sense. I can be laughing and SEEM to be having the time of my life but there are sad undertones even in the moment I'm laughing my head off. I try to distract myself with my fantasies and create escapes for my sanity. Perhaps that is the purpose of their 'dinosaur'. It is their fantasy to escape bullying - for chanhyuk, and the regular life just indoors- suhyun. Am I reading too much into this or does anyone else feel this way? @_@;;
They explained it in the making video how it's about childhood fears referred to as Dinosaurs. And how they face it is the main theme
I hope you let the others react to it too! Love me some AKMU. ^~^💙
They had a hard childhood.
I want the rest of musicians to react to this since they love akmu so much
How about reacting to Lee Jin ah ?? Like her "Random "or "i'm full " or "time slow down" .She is making very unique music with piano. And she has a very special voice. Maybe you can go to check and make your musicians react to it .thx
I cried while I was watching this video... The meaning is really deep
I thought I was the only one who's gonna cry watching this...
Classical mussicians definetly they have to react this
Agree! Musically complex or not... it's so tastefully done... and it's AKMU! 😍
I think the story in this MV is about how they grow up and they remember the times when they were kids and played together like chasing dinosaurs :) I really like it that way although it makes me kind of sad
this song has a deep meaning abt their family past.. this is really wonderful.. u have to check it out
PLEASE, I REALLY WANT TO SEE THE REACTION OF THE OTHER MUSICIANS 😍💙 They seemed to have liked (loved maybe haha) a lot of Akmu ajabhUgogWenbsskj 🌝
please do reaction to AKMU singing Dinosaur Live coz it's so epic, too bad they won't perform it at any music show :')
Dinosaur symbolizes their childhood fears. This song is about overcoming your childhood fears
yaaayy!!! thx for uploading!!
i love your reacts!!!! please do ask classical musicians to react too 😍 i love u guys!!
When I'm listening to the live version, I'm like oh damn, Suhyun actually sings that chorus herself!
i'm glad that i'm not the only one that cried watching this mv.
YAAAY! They're gonna react to it!!
i must be a peasant bc i loved the song the moment it started, and now i'm just binge-watching dinosaur-related content lmao
I cant wait for the group reaction to dinosaur!!!😊
You have such an expressive face. I hope the others will react to this as well. :D
umu if you end up showing the others this song you should know it's about akmu's family's economical struggles and how there were people how went to their house to ask for their debt and that scared chanhyuk! the lyrics are so good and emotional
And it also makes me appreciate how Umu is still one of us despite her fame.
she is really adorable kkkkk
I think you should make the other classical musicians react to this song while also giving them the meaning and the story behind the lyrics! Cause its really a beautiful song loll
Btw love your videos! Keep up the good work and God bless you alwayss 😍😍😍
classical musicians should react to the live version. its so good. her voice. amazing!!
Hey umu!!! can you please make Classical Musicians react to the ENTIRETY of exo's new album??? I'm really curious to know what they think of the album more than just Kokobop because the album is a fusion of so many genres and it's really complex!! please^^
i have read in akmu's youtube channel that this song is about their parents debt....
classical musicians please react to exo kokobop
hope u can show classical musicians their live performance too! suhyun was singing the chorus live and it wasnt autotuned:)
Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only who felt like crying at 4:30. It was such a strange feeling, honestly
Suhyun voice just bless my hears every time 🔥 She doesn't use auto-tune and she don't needed 👍
You should check out the lyric translations. It has a deeper meaning in it :)
I felt like crying in the end too and i had no idea why
i read somewhere that the dinosaurs are the objects of nightmares that chanhyuk had as a child, which were manifestations of the debt collectors who often came by their home and scared them.
The chorus was sung and wasn't edm instrumental! I felt so amazed!
Can't wait for reaction Gwen & Hugo 😀😀
How can you be so fast in making this video? omg
i would love to see other reactors reacting to it! XD
