I have to laugh everytime I see you in the dumpster throwing food out, but don't the cookies and chips get all broken up? You got me started about 2 years ago. I also donate to an emergency childrens shelter, homeless shelter, a memory care facility and many other places. Thank you, I am retired with no worries and this is mine and my hubby's way of paying it back. He drives and I dive.

We need to pass laws requiring businesses to donate food and anything else that's usable for people. It should not be thrown out. My local farmer's market donates food that doesn't sell to the local food bank. The local grocer donates to several soup kitchens. It should not be in the trash.

There are waivers she can get ... the stores can sign to donate. I worked at a hotel.. so much food tossed after buffets. There was a group that had parties, they had waiver to donate to shelter. They'd come at end with containers and I would fill.💞🙏
Fantastic finds today Shannon. Why stores can't donate to churches ⛪, or other service agencies, due to liability insurance laws. They are worried that people may get sick,and then sue the store. Whereas here in Canada the stores all donate. Have a great day my friend ❤️🙂⚘️.

Hey Shannon...great dive! Probably about 15-20 years ago I asked an assistant manager i knew at our local Walmart why they dont donate the stuff they no longer want or need instead of throwing it away. He said they donated to a few charities at one time. Then once people started finding that out it seemed like everyone wanted to be given free stuff. He said it got so bad with people coming in the store and asking for free stuff that it became an annoyance and so they just stopped it all. So that was his explanation of why they no longer donated. I just thought id let you know that although i think it's very sad it had to be that way because so many people are in such great need. I think you're awesome Shannon for helping people the way you do. You're such a beautiful and giving person with such a kind heart. Thank you and God Bless! ❤

If they donate it they r only getting back 20% of that items cost back (when tax season comes)… so I get it as a business perspective but not in a caring human way… u know 🤷🏻♀️

I would please ask all of your subscribers to be in prayer for all the people in our mountains here in NC. Ashville, NC and all around have been totally flooded and many have lost everything they own. Hundreds are stranded without electricity and any kind of communication. My heart breaks for them and their families that do not know if they are OK. Prayers needed please!

Hey Shannon, if you don't have a candle holder to fit those 3 wicks, people often donate the empty ones to Goodwill. I know you chunk them up, but whole candles might be nice for a change. Also that brown paper makes awesome wrapping paper to craft on. Stickers, stamps with ink, cookie cutters with paint. I was thinking you had a group of people that crafted. .... God looks out for you hanging over the edge of those dumpsters! ❤🎉
Clear Resin for the table? Wow! What an awesome haul! You help so many people, so inspiring! I "rescued" a week's worth of groceries this morning, there was so much perfectly good food that could have been donated. I take what I can use, donate what places will accept.

Oh my goodness !!! What a fantastic dive !!! The Dollar Generals around my area don't put the dumpsters behind the fence. They leave them out in the open so they can keep their eyes on it
You can put your perfume in the glass decor piece you got, that is what I did and it looks so pretty! I absolutely cried my eyes out when you told the story about nobody willing to help that poor church lady that's trying to help so many people. These businesses make me sick!!! Please give her a hug from me when you see her again.

I work at a grocery store, we donated to a local food bank and to many other charities.
I found out that in Ca they can no longer throw out food they have to give to shelters At least this is what someone said. I didnt fact check it yet

When I buy new bottles of soap, I pour half into another and add water to each. Saves money!

Buy yourself a bunch of large trash bags and carry them in your car under the seat or in the trunk.
