I watched old 'Spitting Image' episodes of the 1980s and found that if I mimicked the actor voicing Thatcher in 'Spitting Image,' I ended up sounding just like her too! Her new voice was rather masculine, which she obviously needed in a world dominated by men.

Visiting from Canada I was across the street from #10 when this meeting took place. Watching this clip decades later, which is about Meryl Streep's acting ability, I got caught up in this two and a half minute performance and only realized I was not seeing Margaret Thatcher when it ended!

Not really. The point she was making was that if Argentina were to attack Hawaii instead of the Falklands, the American government would blow them all to kingdom come. Pearl Harbour was a real life example of that. Yes, the Americans did try to negotiate with Japan, but it was already clear that war was inevitable. You just don't invade other territories and expect to come out clean.

@@lalagonegaga I've just watched an interview with her Biographer Charles Moore and he said that when the possibility of the Euro was first raised she wanted a referendum on the subject. It was this that was the tipping point for the Quislings Howe and Heseltine and is what ultimately led to her downfall.
