I hate that there's so many planners and companies to choose from.Just when I think I know what I want for the next year I see videos like these that make me think????....I will have to look into Plum Paper bc these look like a planner I could see myself utilizing well!!!!
I understand! Just keep an ongoing list of ones to look at when you need to purchase again:) Plum Paper you can start in any month...I hope I remembered to mention that in this video.
First off I always love your reviews...your very thorough! As for the PP...I literally JUST got my very first one last week! I do love it, and the customization. I just did 6 months because I feel like every time planner launches come out I want to update. I now know some things I would probably change and or add. Not disappointed by any means...but seeing you physically flip through was so helpful! Honestly I was thrilled with all of the options, but at the same time overwhelmed....because there was SO much to look at! Good stuff!!
Hey Jennifer;) Those are very good points...so many layouts can be overwhelming too. I think the layout book helps with that. I hope you enjoy your Plum Paper in the coming months;) And the 6 month option is such a good one for those very reasons:)
I went to Go Wild in Anaheim in 2022 and our swag bags had the booklet with all the sample planner layouts. You're right it is a great idea/way to check out the many planner layout styles. A great product!
Oh, exciting! They just started that neutral tabs choice recently...it wasn't available when I got my order for this video:) Enjoy it! The setup in a new planner is always so fun:) Thanks for watching and sharing with me:)
I can't tell you how many times that happens to me when filming! It's like I am trying to focus so much on all I have to say that I look right over the obvious!
I really look forward to your weekly videos! Your reviews are so helpful! I’ve been bouncing around lots of your past videos lately as I’m reassessing my current planners and what I want/need moving forward. So many great options!
How does the plum paper “disc punched” planner line up with happy planner punched pages? If you held a HP punched page and PP punched page on top of each other, how do they line up? I’m debating on whether I should punch PP myself so that all my HP paper would line up nicely or is the PP disc punched pages pretty close to HP punched pages? Thank you!
I just checked and HP planner paper is just bigger than PP. HP is about .5cm taller on the top and bottom when punched. so 1 cm total in height. And PP is actually about .25 wider...so they don't line up well together at all- even if you punched your own.
I love the sample layout book. And the 7x9 quad (i.e. a 7x9 compact vertical, without a mini-calendar taking up the notes space . . .) That is calling to me for a daily list!
Love the sample layout book. Great idea! I couldn't find it right off on their website but I did find a link to it in their Q&A. So nice to be able to try out the paper and formats. I'm currently using a 5 x 7 (Classic) disc bound planner and I was please to know they offer this size and whole punch.
Oh, good I am glad you found it! I think they need to advertise it more and have the link on their home page;) Thanks for watching and chiming in on what you are using..and it is great that Plum Paper offers that same thing for you!
@@AmandasFavoritesI agrée about them advertising. If you hadn’t shown it in your video so many of us would not know it existed. Thanks for your great reviews.
Hi Amanda I wanted to clarify that I only have issue with the plastic cover, not pp trademark cover. I am grateful the regular cover is up to the task of being banged around in my bag.
Thank you so much for letting me know how they have helped you:) It can be come frustrating to search because the planner world is so BIG now- but try to just enjoy the search and know nothing will check off all your needs/wants in a planner- just pick the one that brings you joy and that will fit your life right now the best;)
Thanks for the review. I just ordered a Plum Paper horizontal for next year. There were so many planners that I wanted to wait for their release and review, but the selling point for me was the customization, particulary, being able to change the week to start on Sunday.
Hey Tanya:) Making that planner on discs you could have removed some of that chunk:) But I get it...and I just saw your post with the current planners you are using;)
I would email and ask Plum Paper or DM them on Instagram. I am not sure where to find it either. They have a lot on their site and things are easy to miss! I've had to ask them where to find stuff before too. I hope they have it for you!
If Plum Paper ever decides to offer a toothier paper option, Erin Condren would be put out of business!! I feel like Plum Paper is the only planner company that gets it right when it comes to truly customizing to everyone's individual planning style. The ONLY reason I keep going back to EC is the paper. My nervous system absolutely cannot handle the feel of writing on Plum's slick paper.
Hey Jenny;) I had a good laugh at your comment;) But I hear ya! I do have to say that I need a few more changes from Plum like monthly colors that flow with the season. But I do think many would love it if they changed their paper to have more tooth!
Thanks for another great review, Amanda! I took advantage of their recent sale and purchased a 6 month planner to try it out in the vertical priorities layout & disc punched. I should get it this Friday! :) However, I forgot to order the layout booklet! Oh well, the perfect excuse to place another order. LOL XX
Which EC Folio? the new one that is zip around and harder/more structured? That one barely fits the EC...and no pens fit in it. I only have the A5 of that one. But it would fit a Plum Paper A5 and the 7x9 would fit the plum 7x9 bc they are the same size. I don't have the 7x9 to test though. Personally I have shared I don't love the EC new folio. I don't think it was designed well since you can't even put pens in it. But I do love the old zip around EC folios and I think they still have those;) I hope that helps.
Can you get just the monthly calendars in one section then the weeklies in a separate section then notes or dot grid instead of having each month attached to the weeklies
I know you can buy a monthly only planner from them- that would make the months separate. But You can't buy a weekly only. the months always come with the weekly layouts. I hope that helps:)
they have 3 different color schemes if that's what you mean...colorful is what Amanda has here, they also have modern and neutral. The neutral is actually more a shade of purplish-blue though...not really neutral in my mind. Hope that helps.
I have gone with Plum Paper in the past but only in the regular daily. They do have far more options than I realized but they're typically my back-up choice as I still prefer EC's paper over Plum Paper.
If EC would get it together and start customizing planners (even just simply things, Monday or Sunday start) have the small calendar on every single page in the DD or not, weekly or not, etc...) They would literally be unstoppable. I went from HP to EC and haven't looked back... I just absolutely love everything about their products... I love HP but honestly I needed my planner to be both functional and pretty and with EC stickers it's not so overwhelming.. I'll use HP for journaling or faith or creativity but I couldn't make it work productively.... Sorry, damn ADHD makes me go off on a tangent. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk 😂
Another great video. Which planner / company would you recommend . I am looking for mid size mainly monthly planner and few blank pages in between months. No daily, no weekly. I tried so many layouts and decided I need simple one with monthly pages in few blank pages one.
Do you want it coiled or bound notebook format? Coiled Monthly Planners from EC are exactly what you are asking for and come out soon (not sure on the date) but the new ones haven't launched yet. She Plans has a good notebook planner like that in 7x9. I love my Ashley Shelly Notebook Planner but there is only 2 lined pages between months and they don't launch till September. Erin Condren also has a Petite notebook monthly planner in A5 size. I shared that in my EC launch video. And Planner Perfect makes a 12 month notebook planner also:) I hope that helps some;)

Ms Amanda. Do you know of a 7x9 planner that instead of a quad page, has half days horizontal. So Monday/Tuesday on one page. Wednesday/Thursday on a page etc. The daily are too much space and quad are not enough. Rachelle in Seattle

Hey Amanda, just wanted to let you and your viewers know that the optional PLASTIC cover for the PP planners is not durable. We are in April and the plastic broke off. It’s like it is too brittle. I have had little pieces chip off of corners and now the spiral holes are just gone. I do carry my planner in a bag with me when I go to work 4 days a week. I bought the plastic cover because I thought it would be extra protection. I would not choose the optional PLASTIC cover again. The regular trademark cover that was under the plastic is holding up great.
Thank you for sharing that. I used Plum paper for years before I even started my channel...and I never had an issue- but I wasn't taking it out of the house. Good information.
I love my EC planner but it is used mainly for work. Ive been trying different companies for my at home planner. Currently using a skinny classic HP and its working for now, but im still utilizing soany planners still. The test layout book looks amazing!
Unfortunately, I’m disappointed with my planner. Here are the issues I have with it: - The ink bleeds on both the regular paper as well as the tabs - I prefer ball point pens but I’ve tried gel as well and it does the same - highlighter marks show through the back of the page - often the ink doesn’t come out properly on the paper and I have to go over it again to have it show up DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY! You shouldn’t be having these issues with a planner that costs this much.
