From the info you've provided, I would suggest sticking with a size 48. One option that might work well for you is to look at a suit that has a double zipper in front, such as the Dainese Aero Evo suit. They work great for guys with bigger shoulders and can be easier to get in and out of. You can also give our Gear Geeks a call who can help you nail down sizing and make additional suggestions. ~Ali
It's not a "one and done" system. The gas-charged cylinders that deploy the air bag can be replaced. We do not have pricing from Alpinestars for replacing the spent cylinders, but we know it's designed for multiple crashes. ~Ali
52 sounds like the right size, but I'd be curious to see if you could squeeze into a size 50. Race suits break in quite a good bit with use, so it is best to purchase the smallest size you can get zipped up. Expect it to be super tight and not to be able to stand up all the way. -CK
I'm 5.8 feet and 137 pounds with skinny waist/upper legs buth wide shoulders I already own a alpinestars suit in size 48 (rc1) it fits ok but my shoulders start to hurt if I wear it for longer than one-2 hours. (to tight). I tried this race replica suit in size 50 and it's very comfy for me but seems to big in my stomach/upper leg area... Would this suit be better in size 48 because it has bigger stretch panels than my rc1? Do'nt want to buy a suit that will be a PITA to wear all day again.
thx for the reply good info on the double zipper suits never thought about that. I will go and try some dainese suits altough I'm more alpinestars minded I realy like my astars suits except for being to tight on my shoulders (had 1 dainese suit and was not that happy about it but that was more than 5 years ago..) Grtz
Im going to purchase this suit but im 6ft,40 inch chest and ruffly same type as andrew but i got a sx1 suit in 52 size, but find it too tight on chest but the knee armour is sorta loose fitting,,,what size suit would you recommend,,i was gunna go for 52 again. plus im in the uk so i can only get this suit from usa or germany so dont want the agro of sending it back if it dont fit
Hey guys. Any input about what happened to the Alpinestars Race Replica? It just disappeared from the Alpinestars catalog! Well it ever see day light again? This means no more Air-bag system from Alpinestars?
+Eduardo de Vasconcelos We're not entirely sure. To be clear though, the Tech-Air airbag has never been available through regular distribution in the US anyway. I'm sure if you have the money, you may be able to go to Alpinestars directly for a custom suit and airbag. -DrewZilla
The Race Replica is no longer available from us, but when it was available, it was a step up from the GP Tech ($2,900 vs. $2,200). At this point though, the GP Tech is the race-level suit from Alpinestars. -DrewZilla
Wow! So you wana tell me someone can crash on the bike with this suit and walk away?? would be impressive... i would totally get a bike in that case! its just that the suit is so expensive...

Poor Andrew, at 4:36 onwards he's trying so hard not to smile/laugh after Anthony says how uncomfortable he must be.
This suit is crazy nice!
As of right now, Alpinestars is only offering a Black / White, White / Red, Black / Yellow / White. ~Ali
this suit is so sick

@CleverEditing wearing a helmet for 15 minutes might be uncomfortable with no airflow...but I agree.

the price isn't justified for the air bag system. it gives nearly the exact same protection just in a different way
Hopefully. Being a $4,000-$7,000 add-on to the suit would suck to pay for it & only have it useful once.
Is this suit alot better then the Atem? :)
that guy in the suit is handsome. and im a straight guy. damn.

Is this comparable to the Dainese team suit protection and comfort wise?
Yes, they're very similar in protection and comfort. -Hi-Viz Brian
