Joe Cullen is a good DL coach good not great. He’s been a DC once in the NFL and was fired after one year. He was the DC with Urban Meyer at the Jacksonville Jaguars. Last time he was a DC in college was over 20 years ago at Indiana.. why out of everyone is he being considered? Go after the bengals DC who has ties with Chatman. He was the DC at Cincinnati for 5 years and was just fired because the last few years they refused to sign or keep all his top guys. Bateman would be alright to bring back. He’s a top recruiter.

Some rumors came out mid season that he’s said some awful/ racist things to the janitors in the facility. Had similar rumors at Auburn and why they let him leave

Guy has been a football coach for how many years and there’s rumors he racist? Doesn’t make since. He may be a hard ass but I highly doubt he’s racist. He’s spent the majority of his adult life teaching young black kids

So is it he just wants to do it part time and leave the stress behind is it money issue or something else. Because way I see it Florida wins due to fact the turn around he provided. I would reach out to Dave Aranda and offer him 2yr/5mi and the ability to bring whoever he wants for the ILB, OLB/Jack, and any Quality/Off-Field Staff or defensive staff positions that need to be filled.
Gators don't know what defense means in Gainesville and is why they have 3 national championships instead of 5 but was chested out of 1 against ole miss in a controversial call from the referees that dictated the out come in that game. WTF are we doing bro??? Defense was hella IMPROVED down the stretch. Should've kept Armstrong and I'm tired of Billy taking the defensive side of the ball for granted.
Absolutely agree that we improved in the 2nd half of the season against better comp too but imo it’s because of player personnel and not coaching. I really like Armstrong and would love to have kept him as a LB coach but he’s still several years away from being a top tier SEC DC. Ron Roberts has the best job in the country with babysitting Armstrong for a 7 digit salary. An estimated depth chart of our 1s & 2s on defense is good enough to win a national championship. This defense deserves a DC/playcaller at their level or above.
@cgforuf the scheme, the players, everything was the same besides a couple of minor tweaks. For the most part our safeties played all year, linebacker, DL, the same players rotated out all year besides a few secondary injuries towards the end. But when our defense sucked, it was almost the same personnel on the field all year. So what changed all of a sudden? Armstrong's ENERGY is different. The kids nowadays play better for younger spirited coaches who can RELATE. We had a similar uptick on the defensive side of the ball back in 2023, when Ron Roberts was never here. It was just Armstrongs defense. Our players LOVED that guy and I've spoken to a few of them personally. There's more to coaching than just calling plays,you have to bring a swagger that feeds Into your group. An ATTITUDE. The intangibles.thats ehat Armstrong embodied as our DC. We'll see a drop off on defense next year, mark my words.
@@jeremyjackson7550 both wrong. Correlation doesn't equal causation. It was neither Armstrong or Roberts. Look at who was playing the 2nd half of the season and what position the others were playing. Our young LB got way more PT and were playing faster. Players that played bad the first of the year either found the correct position, rotation, or no longer seen the field.
