Thanks for this types of video full of information....... I am now a undergrad biochemistry student want to do research on biochemistry...and this helps me a lottt
I request you to share this video to our Research Methodology group in FB...This may be a great inspiration for other post doctoral students in various subjects to share their experiences
Hi there, thanks for watching the video! Love your channel! Lab techs are hard to come by, so most of the work's done by myself or the PhD students that work on project. It just means that there's less time to sit and read papers and come up with ideas, but that's the way it is unfortunately.
Thanks for sharing your day life at Cambridge as a postdoc. Can you tell us more about how to apply for a postdoc at Cambridge and are you enjoying being a postdoc when compared to doing a PhD? I am currently on my final year PhD and thinking of pursuing a postdoc.
Thanks for watching the video :) I’m actually doing my postdoc in the US right now. I did my PhD at Cambridge. If you’re interested in doing a postdoc at Cambridge, or anywhere else for that matter, I would suggest getting in touch with the labs you’re interested in and then going from there. I’m really enjoying my postdoc. It's tough at times, but I have a few interesting projects going at the moment, so it’s been good. Good luck with your postdoc applications.
This is Stanford. So I request all the viewers to please don't take this as a model for how post doc generally is. Most of the time it's just frustrating.....
The Repeatability crisis in Biomedical Research might be solved if only all Projects were documented this well. =) According to a resent study only 50% of Biomedical research studies could be repeated.. What a waste of tax payers money and researchers time. What good is research if no one can repeat it....
What a boring day. No wonder most post docs get paid so little. A few people understand what they do. If this was an armature music video with ladies in skimpy clothes, you would probably have had 350,000 views and made thousands of dollars. Good luck with your research!
Well, I had a fun, productive day - sorry you found it boring! And just FYI - no one goes into academia for the money, it's more about contributing to the advancement of human knowledge! :)
This was so informative. Please make more videos like these where you explain the procedures in detail, would really appreciate it! thanks a lot
Thank you for leaving such an encouraging comment! :D
Planning to major in Biochemistry, can't wait to learn more about this type of stuff, it seems so exciting!! I hope your future research goes well!
Hope you make more videos like this! I'm thinking of doing a postdoc and it's super cool to see what other postdocs are up to!
You here :D

Hi! Cool video, weird I didn't find it sooner. How much of your work can you delegate to lab techs, I wonder? :) Cheers, from Belgium!
