According to Matthew 10:19; prayer as a whole is something you have no control over because it is done by the Holy Spirit. There's a difference between praying and saying words.
Thank you for teaching me. I frequently praying in tongues every time I pray and I'm still immature in this experience but I don't understand the language I am speaking. Please Lord help me.
Paul said," When i pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.."( 1Cor.14:14) In other words Paul is saying that when he prayed in tongues he didn't understand what he was saying either.

There are only three events in scripture that tell us of believers recieving the Holy Spirit and what happened the moment that they recieved ,Acts ch 2,10,and ch.19. In each instance the first thing that happened when they recieved the Holy Spirit is that they spoke in tongues
Speaking in tongues is powerful.the way you speak in your language to communicate in the physical realm is also the way you communicate in the spirit There are different types of tongues ,there is the tongues of angels,there is the tongues where when you speak the universe heres you and responds,theres a tongue that would switch your frequency from the natural to the supernatural,theres a tongue that brings healing ,wisdom and understanding...you might not necessaryily understand what your speaking simply because your still growing in the spirit ,so keep feeding on the word of God until you come to full statue where you can discern,hear,see and understand as you speak.. I did too! Woke up and suddenly felt an intense urge to speak in tongues. I didn’t control a single thing that was said and questioned what I was saying. I only controlled when I started and ended. This happened to me 3 days ago. Online, I see people claim they can do it whenever they want and makes me confused. Are you able to do it on your own timing? I want to do it again but I’m unsure how those are doing it “when they want”.

But what if there is no one to understand or interpret your tongue (language)? Than it's a private prayer/message between you and God! Simple yes? But however you want to understand it there and some things said about the gift of tongues that are just not right or biblical. 1. "The gift of tongues is the real proof of you having the holy spirit and every truly saved person can do it." - This is wrong, in Acts 12 Paul goes to say that "There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them." And continues to describe these gifts than saying "All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines." Literally the whole chapter speaks of the diversity of gifts and believers and that we will all be given differently. 2. Agreed you might not be the truth but you've helped me a lot in removing the guilt of not speaking in tongues and fully understanding what it is before anything, I am a new believer and baptised, idiligently seek God I believe everything written in the bible as God's word and never want to do anything out of pretence and wanting to fit in. I asked about it in church during a Q and A session and I felt the sense of shame as if its a question 8 shouldn't be asking although deep down I knew I was asking for most ppl.

For me these days it just come automatically even wen i don't want to pray in tongues I just find my self praying in tongues but sometimes it become so powerful even i rub my hands and feel fire burning me. At first i was confused but now iam used of it.

For me these days it just come automatically even wen i don't want to pray in tongues I just find my self praying in tongues but sometimes it become so powerful even i rub my hands and feel fire burning me. At first i was confused but now iam used of it.

I started praying in tongues and I feel heat around my body and vibrates and at times my forehead is heavy
I thot I was alone now I know I am not . I can just say Father I come to you and the rest is just tongues I get interrupted in-between a prayer just tongues all over

If someone forbids tongues step away from them. They may lack faith n be spiritually infants . Maybe they listened to false teachers deceived by enemy it is passed away. Or may even be satanists servs

There are times I speak in tongues but I get scared if I'm speaking the right thing.
