He has a really thick accent its like he tries to speak italian before french you can tell its a second language, but he speaks well. Continuer a vous faire!
Wu Wei Yes, he has an accent too, and he doesn't pronounce everything fully, and has an awkward way of speaking but he is fully understandable, its just that touch off that lets you know it was a learned second language.
Does he really? Every English speaker knows how French or Italian accents sound in English, but to my ear, he sounded like his French was accent-less. I can obviously differentiate between Parisian French and Quebecois French (being Canadian and all), but what differences did you notice? [Disclaimer: I'm attempting to learn French now]
Well for the Italian man, it is easier to tell, because He over pronounces things which is need in Italian, since Italian sounds ike tame spanish, he says things like "una" for "a" instead of "une" and he also, uses the Italian name for some vegetables which sound similar to the French words, but are slightly different. But because romance languages are similar its no big deal. The Japanese guy just has an awkward very direct pronunciation, and the Greek guy a little as well. But I am learning Italian, among other languages so I spotted it very quickly.
I'm Québecois and he got a thick Italian accent combined with a french accent. That's because you learn to speak the way you hear it: the Italians in Montreal have their own Italian accent combined with the Québecois accent. As I'm trying to learn Italian, I can say it's difficult because of the similarity of the language, it's full of similar words so you often tend to think them in your own language.
Paris is a beautiful and complicated city. I was actually pretty disappointed by the food, but I realized later, it's because you have to know where to look. You'd think you'd be able to pop into anywhere and find great stuff, but (in my opinion), it's not the case.
***** No, not really. I've been to cities where anywhere you turn you find great places. Paris was a little difference. You kind of ignored where I praised it too.
I agree... the point of this series is to see where the real foodies (chefs and their friends) eat. I was a bit let down that they ate such common faire
ignoretheobvious1 Just to clarify this isn't a version of Cake's song. Cake's song is a version of the original which is Quizas, Quizas, Quizas. It's a very old song
The Kraken wow thats weird, last week i went to a record store and my sister picked up like an old mexican band and they play this song but this song was not on the cd. Los Panchos on youtube check it.
That's the thinking of a middle class person. I'm by no means wealthy, but I've rolled with people who are, and trust me, when you have $$ to blow, you don't give a fuck. You'd rather have something small and delicious than something large and filling.
Those small portions really bother me. I know its meant to emphasise the taste/presentation rather than 'fill you up' but in the end food is food. I think it's borderline pretentious tbh.
i failed in life, im 23, know too much made my life hell, suffering from deppression and anxuiety, used to take paxel and citalopram so yeah im perfect for vice, but fuk life, fuk my life
Paxel...fuuuuuckkkkkk....listen, anyone who survives Paxel is a fucking soldier, not a failure. 23 is so very, very, very young, so take your time to get back on your feet; rushing out of that feeling of needing to catch up to your peers is what will fuck you up. Im no doctor or anything, just someone on the the decade flip-side of exactly where you are now. I dunno how to make it not sound corny as shit, but...trust...you're gonna be good.
take it day by day buddy! i got off paxil too - it was the hardest thing I ever did. you should be proud. also 23 is practically still in diapers - tons of time to figure it out. chin up! ;)
The french chefs always have the best nights out in this series.
One of the best Chef's Night Out ever.

Now THIS is a proper Chefs Night Out!
omg when The Greek pulled that truffle out i died laughing, looked like he was doing a drug deal i love it!!!
This episode reminded me why I fell in live with the show - these people know how to have fun properly!
Simone Tondo of Paris Eatery Le Roseval takes us out in the beautiful City of Lights for roast Lamb, linguine, and _lots_ of wine.
Y'all should make an episode of Chef's Night Out on Gavin Kaysen and his new restaurant in Minneapolis, Spoon and Stable!
❤ this was such a great episode
Watching this makes me so happy! A great group of people eating delicious food while experiencing what I could only dream of. Yum!!
The Asian chef was drinking a 'Duff' beer from The Simpsons lol. 12:07

When the episode first started I was like, "Dang, another one of a person from France". But after watching it, I actually enjoyed it. #mulligan

One of my favorite episodes!
That made up for that dry ass napa valley episode.
Ha. Two very different episodes. I did enjoy the Napa episode, it was more tame. A change of pace, if you will.
What napa valley epsiode, you mean the Santa Barbara one? Don't comapre a wine-centric scene with a bustlying city.
Best series on TH-cam
Episodes in france are the best

Fun episode.
What's the song coming from the mini speaker they stick to the window?
I fucking love Paris.
What is the song in the beginning and when the guy plays the guitar....anyone anyone?
I think the song he's playing in the kitchen is a spanish version of Perhaps by Cake.
ignoretheobvious1 Just to clarify this isn't a version of Cake's song. Cake's song is a version of the original which is Quizas, Quizas, Quizas. It's a very old song
The Kraken wow thats weird, last week i went to a record store and my sister picked up like an old mexican band and they play this song but this song was not on the cd. Los Panchos on youtube check it.
It is a Cuban song, "Quizas" www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/andreabocelli/quizsquizsquizs.html
ignoretheobvious1 the other way around. The Cake version is an English version of a song in Spanish.
5:47 - 6:00 Χαίρομαι που υπάρχει προτίμηση στα καλά Ελληνικά προιόντα ...

I agree, its all fancy and shit but fuck, give me a full plate if im paying that much
They give you many courses to make up for the small amount
Jean Croton Ya but its 9 plates not 1 and in reference to tapas it's completely different
The point isn't to stuff yourself. Too much and you lose quality.
Fuck that, I can stuff my self as much as I want, and the quality of the dish will remain the same.
Does anyone know the song they are singing in the beginning in the taxi? With that stupid thing on his head ;)
I want to know what he smoked in the van

Borat got Bukkake'd
A quand un chef belge ? 👌✌️😊
portions are so tiny! I really can't understand the logic. You'd imagine that for that much money, you should at least be satiated after...
its probably a tasting menu with 12 courses or something so you get full
Well it is france...
That's the thinking of a middle class person. I'm by no means wealthy, but I've rolled with people who are, and trust me, when you have $$ to blow, you don't give a fuck.
You'd rather have something small and delicious than something large and filling.
+Daeron15 Hey, living in France here, and you don't seem to know what you're talking about... This is just posh restaurants.
BEST
1 scallop with a bit of sauce and some berries on it is a starter? I bet it costed like 5-10 dollars too. Trying to starve people out there.
