Being a guardian of the planet is so important and yes, plants respond to loving words. Last year, we planted our tomatoes and a freak frost rolled in that evening and nipped all of the tomato plants. The next morning, they were blackened. Everyone told me they were dead and I should pull them; all 75 plants. I said, "NO. I'm going to go outside and tell them how much I love them and how sorry I am that they were damaged. I let them sit there for a couple days, then trimmed them back. I noticed they started getting some new leaves popping out where the stems once were located. Every time that I walked down the long row of tomatoes, I would touch them and tell them that I loved them; all of them. That year we had a bumper crop of beautiful tomatoes. Unconditional love goes a LONG way.

I do talk to my plants, asked them why they are sad, ask them not to leave me, etc. I live in South Florida. I am not allowed to have pets but nature follows me. I have been visited by racoons, cats, foxes, opossum, ravens, many birds including the cardinal, and lately butterflies are using my plant Rue to leave their eggs. Soon I will watch them become butterflies. I would live happy in an environment like yours. You are so blessed.

Many cities have community gardens, that you can volunteer to work in. Sometimes an older person who can't garden well, will allow a young able bodied person to garden their land, for some of the produce. Things can be done. I lived in an apartment in college thirty years ago, so asked the owner if I could put in a garden. He said yes, and a retired minister brought men fresh from prison to turn the grass for me. I finally have my own garden now. But always grew something some way. I love your passion and love that you spread it. Thank you.

God expects us to be good stewards of this earth. Not just the dirt, flora and fauna... But of the enrichment of each other and outselves. This happens when we take responsibility and love and care for something other than ourselves. Taking care of the land, nurturing goodness, and kindness , and beauty in everything we can. Thank you for such an insightful message. God Bless.

I had a medicinal plant that I grew inside. Every night as I turned of the light I would say goodnight to the plant and tell her to sleep well. Every morning I would turn on the light, water my plant, and tell her to enjoy her water have a happy plant day and grow well.
After a few months my friend looked at my plant. He had grown these kinds of plants for years and taught me how. He couldn't believe how big and beautiful my plant had become. He started new plants at the same time that I did and his had all died. But he didn't talk to his plants or give them any love. And I did. So mine thrived. 💖🌱💖

I love your videos and it’s so wonderful to meet a kindred spirit. When young we didn’t have a garden but I loved going foraging with my grandmother, tending her roses and watching her make preserves, tinctures and herbal teas. She was a hedgerow person and I could spend hours making a tiny fairy 🧚‍♀️ house with a cotton reel table and cork chairs, pipe cleaner fairies with little leafy skirts….such a wonderful innocent time where pleasure came from nature and not technology…..

The idea of being a guardian and the little vignette about the little patch of land in LA makes me think about the Buddhist temple I attend. when it moved to the place it is located it wasn't exactly a safe area. people would get robbed in the parking lot, but, as time progressed their presence there caused the area around it to change, now that area is a much safer and more peaceful place. 😊🙏💛🌿

I have been frequenting a relatively secluded spot on the far end of a beautiful bay over the last two weeks, just meditating in the sun, drinking some green tea and observing the geese enjoying the river. Just the other day I started observing this season's debut dandelions and I was so happy to return home with a considerable salad. Just one day later they were very abundant and I could sense this principle of attention and reciprosity at work.

What a tantalizing view of the interior of your wonderful little house - really looking forward to a house tour (I am manifesting a house tour)!! Great truth in what you have to say in this video - my grandmother used to talk to her flowers and plants, but she went all out and sang to her fruit and veg in her little orchard ( she placed a higher value on the edibles!). I'm doing my bit on a balcony full of pots - I sewed up garden fleece covers for them all and as its still a bit chilly for them I have to tuck them in every night.

I'm so glad I found this channel, it's beautiful what you are doing. The Guardian concept reminds me of what Alison McDowell is doing in her Dandelion Manifesto in the city, laying down dandelions with intention in front of company offices building our tech new world order.

I think it is all part of the people's new world. We have been reminded of our connection to Nature and to our Planet so hopefully the technocrat plans will come to nothing. I just heard about Alison's manifesto and i think it is brilliant. Dandelion are working hard to help bring our consciousness back to the important things.

Thank you! I happened on another video of yours (lemon balm) and enjoy your videos and the way you live (very similar to ours) and your loving pets who follow you everywhere. I resonate with everything you say and I have sadness in my heart as everytime I go out (we live in the countryside/mountains) I find trash everywhere. My way of being a guardian to the earth is picking up the trash I find whenever possible but I find myself getting angrier and angrier as I cannot understand why there is so much thoughlessness in people. Again, thank you for your lovely videos.

I also would like to add, that I grow a vegetable garden, & spend my time there sorting things out in my mind with my LORD, talking aloud while examining the different plants, and their well being. So, I'm thinking that talking to the LORD during my time out there, helps the plants and their growth and productivity, perhaps because I'm not all about me in this life but I'm praying about other people and their needs too. The wisdom that you hold reminds me of my motherland (Russia) where I was born, and raised. Back then people didn’t want to see a doctor every time they had a cold or some other minor issue. People knew about natural remedies, knowledge that was passed down to them from the ancestors. I was just a child then, but I remember a few of the natural remedies that everybody seem to just know about. For example one particular wild plant was used as a medicinal plant for different purposes was ‘Coltsfoot’. In Russian the name of this plant is Мать и мачеха (mother and stepmother.) This plant grows near bodies of water. Every Russian knows about raspberry hot tea with honey for a cold, cough or sore throat. My parents would boil a pot of potatoes and then let me breathe in the steam and put a towel over my head for the times when I had chest congestion. I remember something to do with mustard on the chest also for chest congestion. My parents did cupping therapy on me when I was a little kid. These are just a few natural remedies I can remember, but there are countless natural remedies that are still used today. This is the precious ancestral knowledge that is unfortunately disappearing.

One of the herbs in my garden - a "weed" - is Rosebay Willow Herb. She is a beautiful tall and graceful plant with a pink/purple flower and is known as Russia as a restorative herb for the whole body, hence the nickname Russian Tea. You are so right when you say there was a time not long ago when people looked after their own minor ailments and injuries with natural remedies. My childhood was like yours, home remedies that had been passed down. I feel very sorry for people who have lost that ancestral knowledge but it is still there, in genetic memory if people want to start looking. Hopefully, people will remember soon.

For the past 2 summers, I have let my backyard go to seed. It is very interesting to see what has grown up so lovely without the disturbance of modern appliances ruining what is a magical space within the noisy city in my own living space. I love it, the young saplings of trees are now over 10ft tall, there's miners lettuce, a natural painkiller when produced, with creeping vines growing up their length, new and beautiful types of bushes, shrubs and lilac shoots blossoming in the spring and flourishing throughout the summer. Now the garden is quiet, the birds still hang around but on the neighbors' trees since mine were cut down last year, and that made the crows VERY ANGRY! It was incredible to see how angry they were when they came to sit in my rotted old poplar tree one day only to find it completely gone the next. That's why I decided to let my backyard flourish, not only to grow the trees back but to see just how much better my backyard can grow if I just let it show me what it's potential could be uninterrupted.
Edit: Next spring I will reseed the soil patches with the fine grass seeds I have collected over the past two summers. Good luck to all to have decided to let Mother Nature be natural and free within their own tiny piece of paradise wherever they live, especially in the cramped noisy cities.
