Mika Ella is a gorgeous bubbly bundle of joy. The more I see of her the more I want to see. She is already learning reading skills. Write a few words she signs easily. Use something that looks like a deck of cards so you can shuffle them. Then one of you signs and the other finds the word or the letter and switch. If you can find words from her favourite story book all the better. The children I taught used to love having words they knew put on cards which were then hole punched and put on shower curtain clips. they can be easily shuffled and reviewed. If she has the concentration, you can play a game of concentration with upper and lower case letters. She doesn't need her voice to learn to read.
One thing I love about Mika Ella is that look she sometimes gets, when she looks at your cheek and realizes she prolly hasn't kissed it for at least five minutes and therefore has to lean in to plant a fresh one...🥰🥰🥰 She takes such good care of you.
You are amazing. I watch you everytime you post, and I marvel at the two of you and your whole family. I watched the Qand A when you were getting blasted about now enrolling these kids in school. I have been a teacher for over 30 years, and I can tell you that what you are doing, is far more than what she would get in regular orr even special need school. One on one is so important. She would be in with many other needy children and her time would not be as well spent as it is with you. You are doing the best things for her and Izzy. You are both the most unselfish people in the world. My husband was a police officer for 43 years, and I know what a hard job that is and especially now. Thanks again for sharing your life with all of us. You are one in a million.
Mika!!! You are so smart!!! She has such a sweetness about her. Her hugs, touches, etc. show how much she loves everyone in the family. She is growing up so fast and she is very smart! Great job, Mom!
Mika Ella's is a very lucky girl. I shudder to think of where she would be if yall hadn't answered God's call to look for that precious girl. She adores you. She is copying every pose you do. She may not realize how lucky she is but I can tell she knows she is loved. I pray for your family that God's love surrounds you all. Thank you for sharing your family.
I home schooled my kids for seven years, though it was a long time ago! I admire you for doing this for your family. Mika Ella is precious and obviously very bright. Isabelle is precious too and all the kids. God bless your lovely family!
She is learning so much! Such a sweetheart. She will continue learning with your help. She wouldn't learn nearly as much in a traditional school. Way to go Mika!
Amazing little lady and so cute i adopted 2 children 4 and 7 with special needs now 21 and 29 still hard work but so worth it u are such great people and isabella is also beautiful xx
Mika Ella’s therapy and your family are really doing a lot to help with communication. What skills does her speech therapist currently address for oral communication? I am amazed at this precious girl!! And the whole family!
Theywork with her on actual speech and producing sounds. She also is learning sign language. She communicates very well regardless though. She also is on the listto receive a very high tech communication device to help expand her communication level.
@@TheFeltsFamily the multi/faceted approach is encouraging. Can you tell I taught special needs children and parent education to parents of infants and toddlers? I’m not just being nosy-it’s fascinating how far education has progressed.
That is one sweet little girl! The way she looked at you and gave you a smooch on the cheek! Gosh! I’m so glad God placed her in your home. She sure is a blessing to us all!♥️♥️♥️✨
We are currently homeschooling 3 ASD kids with one being barely verbal. Our SLT recommended ‘match, select, name’ and it is absolutely the right thing for us. Mica Ella might enjoy it too when you guys are done with the alphabet or even before. We started off with a different system for our eldest who hast severe SLI (specific language impairment) which is introducing the letters s, a, t, p, n first because you can already form a good amount of words with those. Keep up the great work, Mica Ella seems to be flying through everything!
@@TheFeltsFamily Happy to pass on recommendations that worked for us. If you want to have a quick look into how ‘match, select, name’ is used in practice have a look at this quick video from the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress th-cam.com/video/BAjbWc9AxcU/w-d-xo.html It is just missing the first step which is basically ‘memory’ with the written word and picture and you have to match the word. Hope it gives you inspiration!
I loved homeschooling my last 2 sons now 36 and 33. They did very well. My sons are visual and tactical. They are very musical and graduated 2 years above grade level. Go, Mika Ella GO..
I've watched u guys for a while now, but never commented on anything......I absolutely love your family and admire u guys for everything y'all do and everything y'all stand for! Anytime u add a new video, I click right away!!!!!! 🦋
Ohh Mika Ella, your writing is fabulous!! Felts family, you're doing such a good job. Please don't be offended by this in anyway, its a positive... I have no additional needs at all, but I couldnt physically write my name until I was 9 - Mika Ella learning at a 4-5yr old stage AND writing like that is just amazing. Im so very proud of you all. Lots of love from the UK ♥️♥️♥️
yes….mom! Very nice work. She really likes movement and definitely a kinesthetic learner. Im sure you probably have thought about this….but have you considered dance class? She moves so well and takes direction willingly. I would give anything to have her in my creative movement class. If you could find the right studio I think she would love it. She wants to communicate and dancers express idea thought and feelings in creative dance. I am aware of her inward pronation issue. Maybe dance would help that? Dancers walk turned out and actually must start young to reform the leg structure. Please don’t take this like I’m telling you what to do. This child is so very expressive and I was just brainstorming another outlet for that self expression. You are doing a great job with her academics. She understands one to one correspondence…HUGE. Her writing is just super. Love the sign language. I like her talking , too. I’m a big fan!
No offense taken! That is a great idea, but her bilateral club feet situation is pretty significant and sadly, "training" her feet isn't do-able on any level. However, I am sure she would love being in a dance class. Ha! She is sassy and expressive.
I started in the nemechek protocol video and got here 🤣 I am homeschooling as well and this was helpful knowing she is 8 and my boys are 8 I struggled with trying to get them “caught up” but this was so helpful to see I don’t have to I can go at their pace. Amazing family and we happen to have the same last name 😂💜
Another wonderful and beautiful video. Maybe if I had so much purpose and joy in my life I wouldn't be going to jail for the next year because of 2nd DUI. May the Lord bless you all. You have a purpose and are fulfilling it well. I think you are all wonderful.
I used Signing Time With Alex and Leah DVDs. They were great. My son has special needs and was adopted also. He can speak now but uses sign to help us understand what he is saying sometimes. The DVD might fit into homeschooling nicely. Thanks for all you do to promote adoption!!! God bless
