  • I don't claim that everything is correct, but sadly there is no tutorial in english so i made one, because a lot of people outside Russia are interested in that technic.

    There’s many people who do knife throwing videos on TH-cam, but none compare to Samoth! I’ve been watching and learning for years but just now learned a major breakthrough lesson! I’ve always done really well with No Spin technique but always struggling with the further distance throws. I never heard before that I should switch to the half spin technique after 10 feet away! I can’t wait to implement this and practice some more!

    Hello again Tom Tom I commented on your tutorials in the past and I ask you a bunch of ? And you ask to send you a video. I don't have Facebook due to where I work, but I did figure out how to put on this platform.

    Tom Tom, at 4:17 when you say "chwoo", are you talking about your finger doing something like a reverse flick of the finger? Kind of like snapping the fingers but without using the thumb?
    Also what did you wrap your handles with?

    • @samothchipmah2407
      @samothchipmah2407  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can accelerate the knife with the help of the index a lot. And it helps to give backspin that the knife does not over rotate in no spin. But the whole wave motion produces a lot speed. Your body becomes a whip. I can do that now, years later, much better. The thumb has just a side stabilization function but does nothing more.

      @@samothchipmah2407 You also mentioned good knives to use are about 25cm. What about weight/balance point?
      From your experience, is it best to have the balance point at the center of the knife, closer to the blade, or closer to the handle/bottom? Or will it not matter?

    • @samothchipmah2407
      @samothchipmah2407  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SilenMonser That depends on how you throw. Most people can throw no spin very good with my arrow, which is extreme handle heavy. My technic changed so much that i now use only slightly handle heavy, balanced or even blade heavy. You use what works best for the way you throw.

    • @SilenMonser
      @SilenMonser 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@samothchipmah2407 I imagine your way of throwing is a combination of Fedin style and no-spin style that has been modified to fit your preferred way of moving with the blade. Does the index finger placement matter for your style of throwing? If so, how do you determine where to place it?
      Does it matter for the Fedin style?

    • @samothchipmah2407
      @samothchipmah2407  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SilenMonser not really. I had it back then near the end of the knife, now much further in front. Above the balance point. Just how it feels good.

    Always enjoy your videos . Have you seen a major leage side arm pitcher ive hade success with a slightly modified version . Of course im throwing spikes not a baseball.

    • @samothchipmah2407
      @samothchipmah2407  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Robert. I just watched side arm pitcher. You mean baseball? Your throws are different I think. You throw with a very short and fast push action. Which creates good throws like you show in your videos. This is shuriken style like have often seen at Japanese throwers.

    Hoping to reach out and possibly hope that you might be able to send me a couple of your arrows. I honestly can’t afford $70 for one. It would make my year if you were able to. I would just be so happy. Having to use cheap knives because of budget. I can make a review and thank you video if possible. I really want to master the no spin. I am intermediate thrower and right now also trying to make me some arrows with very basic tool. I could also send you a thank you gift that is pretty unquie and think you would like🙏

      where you live?
      I have only self made arrows out of cheap stainless steel. I can send you a pic with all the scales then you can make your own one. It's not important that the shape is perfect. Make it handle heavy, 6mm thick and about 25 cm long.
