I can’t wait to see the land around Loudoun Gateway in 10 years right now it’s just a parking lot like and nothing around it within a nice walking distance
There wasn’t really any traffic in this video. Cars can go much faster, yes, and rapid transit usually does not go faster than vehicular traffic, but taking the Metro is exponentially safer and cheaper (assuming it replaces your need for ownership of a personal vehicle). Really, the time difference between those cars and the train is negligible, considering parking. A few minutes here or there isn’t the main obstacle to people taking the metro.
It's nuts how Dulles Airport didn't have its own rail connection for so many years, have to say these new stations look great!
Incredible, after all of these years it is finally here. Now we just need a green line extention to BWI and all three of DC's airports are connected!
Nice. If only that was real-time! LOL.
Cringe.
I want to see POV in real time also.
@@timothystark4475 There are at least 5 of them out there.
They just did a few hours ago
Finally I was waiting for POV. Thanks!!!

It's not allowed to be zoned for anything useful because of airplane noise
I'd like to see you do ride alongs of the other Metro lines...
Chicago desperately needs sound barriers on their highway median stations. Great work DC!!!
Just covered this! Finally, before I had to take a bus 🚌 to Dulles lol glad i don’t have to do that anymore
Cant get over the Dulles views!
Right?! 😍 We can't stop sharing these views! -CC
Looks beautiful! But I don’t understand how the extension was so expensive when most of it is just laying tracks down in a highway median.
Highways are built in cheap areas to save money so they can just slap it against the highway and save money
Nice
I hope that one day they can make the trains go faster. Sad how cars can still overtake the train line even with traffic.

what's the third track between reston and herdon used for?
Storage track and hi rail access
its called a pocket track. They can store extra / broken down trains there without affecting the main two tracks
Hi Sam,
Thanks for your question. That's a "maintenance of way storage track".
We hope this helps!
