I've started limiting my internet usage. This includes TH-cam, games, and other things I find addicting. It's hard, but I'm prepping for possibly cancelling my internet service. I've been depressed and going through a rough time, and escapism just isn't helping. I'm easily addicted to many things, and that's a big problem. I could rant on and on (and am so tempted to) but to keep it short, I just need to remove myself from the internet (mostly). Now, I'm not going to be off completely, just not nearly as much as I usually am. It's like trying to quit overeating (another issue of mine) where it isn't practical to stop consuming completely. As I write this, I'm reminded of your video where you mentioned productive rest, and taking vacations. You cited a source which suggested not taking a month long vacation once a year, but more frequent breaks for about a week or something. What I'm saying is, I think I'll try the 7 day challenge. I'll limit my consumption in those days and see if it helps. Thank you Michelle, for getting me to think about this.
Jay Pilgrim I tried cancelling my internet. I was ready and willing to do it, but they offered me a good deal so I backed down. It would have been easier to go through with it, except my phone gets terrible service in my apartment, so I'd be without wifi or data. Also, I'm terrible at following through. That being said, I have made progress on reducing my internet usage. While it's still a struggle, I've started to lose my attachment to my phone. I still use it for some addictive behaviors, but I'm noticing why I engage in them. For example, I play a certain game I don't love because it gives me a sense of connection with my mom, who does enjoy it. But yeah, progress is slow and I keep falling off the wagon. Any tips?
Hi! Same here, I also struggle with excessive internet use (mostly youtube) and overeating. One tip that I would give you is to notice your triggers. Like, what triggers your internet/food binges? For example, when I'm really stressed and overworked at school, I'm more prone to going down a 2-3 hour spiral on youtube (even though I know I'm not enjoying watching videos anymore, I still can't stop). So when I feel/see the first signs of distress/overwhelm/or any negative emotion, I pause and take a step back. I take a break first so I won't end up drowning in regret after I binged on youtube or food. But ofc I know it's not that simple. I still fall back to my old habits. But less frequently now, so that's great. Another valuable thing to learn to do is forgiving yourself. You have to learn to forgive yourself when you inevitably slip and fall and make a mistake. And lastly, have you tried those apps that lock you out when you've reached a certain time limit in a particular app?
Video starts at 1:06 Clean your space (incl. car) --> break it down bc it can be overwhelming Clean out your wardrobe Organise the random things that you needed to sort out Create a new playlist / download new songs Declutter digitally --> go through your apps, pictures, notes etc. Also: unfollow people on social media Refresh your routines (eg morning/night/after work/weekend) Review your goals and systems Social media detox / cleanse
I was just thinking of how to reset my year after the lockdown, and your video just popped up so randomly and so in time!! Thank you. I've been thinking of resetting my social life, although I am an introvert and I enjoy spending the quarantine alone - I think I should be more polite and kind to at least my closest people. So my idea of a 7-day challenge or routine is something about social connections. I just started by establishing a regular Saturday call with Dad :)
Loved the tips, I totally agree about not starting too many new habits at a time because it really never works out! I like the new playlist idea, its crazy how much the small things can make SUCH a huge difference. Realllly inspiring video, I loved it ❤️🙌🏼
This is the sort of video I didn’t know I needed ... your channel is an absolute godsend and so are you! Thank you for the effort girl you are such an inspiration x
Love love love. I think most people don't realise how badly we need to declutter our digital life. Even photos on our phone... Deleting extra pictures, screen shots, blurring pictures.
This was so helpful. I already decluttered my life last year, and realised that I need to do it again this year. Decluttering is also a regular practice. And I might try the new playlist thing!
I just love you. 30 days to simplify literally changed my life. I looked forward to getting your emails daily and really stuck with it! And I've been minimizing ever since. Thinking of redoing it this summer. I'd love more challenges!!!!
this year is soo good :D the first time ever it's working! I set few but important goals and I'm positive to achieve some in the second half of the year. like I now exercise, meditate, have a morning routine. now I want to do an afternoon and evening routine and cook more and eat healthy :) and I continue minimizing and learning japanese (and I go to japan this year). thank you for your great content. I'll rewatch your videos on those topics.
Nice video. It’s really important to understand yourself and what will work best for you. With so much trouble happening right now, it’s great to see more TH-camrs offering tips to help people’s mindset.
I am in the middle of a 'reset' and am going to use your tips from this video - thank you! Two steps I am going to add: finances review (what is my net worth? how am I tracking? can I increase my income?) and career review (how am I tracking to my professional goals? is my resume updated? any self improvement I could be doing?).
Your videos have been helping me a lot. I was already feeling this way but didn’t exactly know how to go about it. Your channel is inspiring and motivating, thank you!
Big dreams take time! The fact that you're here means you're doing everything to reach those goals. Trust yourself, and trust that it will come to you in the right time. You are safe, you are sacred, and you are loved!! ✨
Great tips, I really need to start setting up more routines, especially an evening and weekly routine. I waste so much time in the evenings procrastinating because I don't know what to do! xx
By far my favourite TH-cam channel! I feel like some similar videos leave me feeling super down and overwhelmed but your videos are ALWAYS so insanely helpful and motivating! Thank you for constantly inspiring me Michelle!
Just in time!!! I graduated last week, now my life feels empty, I still have a lot to do concerning my studies, but I needed this to reset and take a short break to prepare myself for the next step in my academic life
Thank you so much for this video ! I just woke up, feeling grumpy and I don't even know why... maybe because I ditched my morning routine and the overwhelm is real... It's sunday, time to press the reset button 💪
Thank you for sharing this 😍. 💛 I am going to do the seven day challenge with declutter uour space, where im going to set time limit on declutting and try to make 1-2 hour a day to declutter, because i suck at this and has been procrasting it since forever 😂. First I will start with breaking down into small step (declutter), maybe make a list that i can cross of when im finish. 💛 Im going to refresh my morning rutine😊, and my nat rutine. It sounds like a lot, but they affect each other, if i want to wake up early, then i need to have good nat routine, i look forward to this part, because i like my routine, but lately a lot things hasnt been working, so i need to refresh them, or ad something that does work. 💛The last one im going to look at, is my goal and system. I want to do as you suggest, draw a "map" of the rest of the year, and get a review of what my goals look like for the rest of the year. Maybe set som deadlines, or changes some
I can totally relate to this! ❤️ I just quit my job to take the summer off to work on my TH-cam channel, so this video about a fresh start is perfect for me right now!
This is perfect for me, I've just moved back home from second year at Uni and in September I'm going on my year abroad. Time to get things in order to make that transition as smooth as possible.
I'm feeling so overwhelmed right now because we are halfway through the year and I have been consumed by my job and monotonous routine. I need to start making some changes and this video couldn't come at a better time. Thank you.
Totally needed this video. I discovered your channel and got a ton of value from it in January, but along the year my schoolwork really broke a lot of the routines that I had created. Time to regroup! Thank you for the tips. :)
You're making it so much easier to declutter life! (Not that I find the process easy, but it is definitely going somewhere! I have seriously gone through my closet over a span of three days, and the sad thing is that I have three more houses where I have clothes and stuff laying around).
I rarely comment on youtube videos , but this video actually made me get my lazy ass to do something. I’m so glad I found your channel, please continue making videos like these! May your day be great and full of sunshine 🌞
I put do not disturb on for 6 PM - 9 AM to help me stop using my phone at night. It was a great break. I think it would also be great to break from social for 7 days.
Just finished my leaving cert and i have had a a terrible life my whole life with bullies (12 years bullied )but now im finished school and i can now mentally get on a clean slate So back to zero with so much potential 😎
The idea with making a new music list I think could also be applied to other media. I tend to slip into a routine where i just work, eat and sleep, so for me it would be nice to look into not only new music, but maybe also into new movies, games, books, clothes (including shoes), makeup and hair styles, cooking recipes.

I really resonated with this. I have begun today by taking a mental health day off from work. I am also starting on working on the root of my anxiety.
Love love love. I think most people don't realise how badly we need to declutter our digital life. Even photos on our phone... Deleting extra pictures, screen shots, blurring pictures.

Midyear frump running my long loved business and I so needed this! Thank you!
Your videos have been helping me a lot.
I was already feeling this way but didn’t exactly know how to go about it.
Your channel is inspiring and motivating, thank you!
its half way through the year and i've only got one thing off my dream-board done. At least it was the most important thing.
The Aime Diaries That's nice :)

Love it! I just wanted to say I've been watching your videos for a while.
Thank you, as always, for the encouragement, and for the direct and doable productivity advice! My life is better for "knowing" you!
Totally needed this video. I discovered your channel and got a ton of value from it in January, but along the year my schoolwork really broke a lot of the routines that I had created. Time to regroup! Thank you for the tips. :)
Your videos always pop up at the right time in my life and you always save me from slipping into a swamp of unorganisation and clutter 😁💚
I’m so glad I found your channel a couple of months ago. You inspire me so much 💘 love from Argentina
You're making it so much easier to declutter life! (Not that I find the process easy, but it is definitely going somewhere! I have seriously gone through my closet over a span of three days, and the sad thing is that I have three more houses where I have clothes and stuff laying around).
You make me so happy!!!! All of your videos are so amazing and inspiring
could do you do a video of different types of seven day challenges?
Great video Michelle! I have been working on too many things lately, I need to organise my space and my thoughts. Thank you for the inspiration! xoxo
Hey Michelle, chat a bit about your wind down routine once you figure something out... struggling with this myself... 😁

you are my first inspiration when I'm feel so bad or exhausted. Thanks a lot.
I put do not disturb on for 6 PM - 9 AM to help me stop using my phone at night. It was a great break. I think it would also be great to break from social for 7 days.
I really need to reset my life, and these tips are so useful, thank you ☺️💕
Congrats on 200K!! ☀️☀️🌹🌹

Thanks for the tips!
Ugh why are you so amazing!
You always pop up at the right time. Cheers x
I was just thinking about this. It's as if you read my mind. Thanks.
The idea with making a new music list I think could also be applied to other media. I tend to slip into a routine where i just work, eat and sleep, so for me it would be nice to look into not only new music, but maybe also into new movies, games, books, clothes (including shoes), makeup and hair styles, cooking recipes.
This is exactly what I needed. Thank you s2
Dang girl your videos are really changing my life
Hi, just wondering where did you get that cord box? Thanks 😊
Your videos save my life😭💞
Can you please make a video on some 7 day channel ideas? That’d be super helpful!
Great video to come back to in the summer! ... Thanks! :D
I've been binge watching all your videos :)
Thank you for this video. I wrote everything down and now to take some action! :)
"Draw out a map of the rest of your year": excellent tip! Will plan it on my wall :)
I loved this video! I really needed a video like this :) xx
Congratulations on 200k 🎉 🎊
LOVE that you like J Cole and 6lack! 😍 great tips!
I'm always so inspired by your videos. Love you chanel ❤️❤️
Thank you for this video. A few days ago my best friend and love of my life chose to leave me rather than get therapy for his issues... We had been together for four years and I'm absolutely broken and I want to end my life. This video is giving me hope that things will change if I look after myself
Lizziy Parker I am so sorry to hear that someone you love left your life. Please do not contemplate ending your life. There are so many people in the world who care and will care about you. Sending love your way!
Thank you for your kind words, I need all the love I can get right now, friends, family and the sweetness of strangers is how I plan to come out the other side. Thank you xxx

This video is so perfect for right now!!
I really need to start decluttering NOW!
«mid year», as someone living in France we're now at the end of the year in summer and September will be the stressing beginning of the year hahaha
Thats so interesting! Our system is so different in aus - sending good vibes to you to get through 💖💖
muchelleb you're so sweet
muchelleb Actually in a lot of countries september is the "start" of the year, but I would define it just as the second one after january 😊
I think in Australia is different due to the weather!
Sara P. Japan also starts school etc in January though
M 560 yes, I mean that in every country (in this case Australia was mentioned) the situation changes due to weather, I think 😂
Wow! This video came at just the right moment!
my life reset definatly include to start wake up early, organising my task management system and doing a research on how to do whatever i am interested in that time in the most effecient way
I really need to binge watch your videos. (New sub) ❤️
