I wear a gold and diamonds tennis bracelet every day. Strangely my eldest grandson has shown most interest in it!
I wear a beautiful opal necklace every day too, but yesterday I wore my pearls with my little black dress for a funeral, very classic.
Love your picks. I would also add a pearl necklace as a classic piece. 😊
Hi Gigi. Yes, I agree with you and if you see the comment I made to Anne, above, you will see that a pearl necklace very nearly made the list! I do think, though, that a pearl necklace can be most successfully worn either by a young person or a much older person. I really think it needs to be in a modern setting for our age group to look modern in it. However, I do love pearls for the luminescence it gives to the skin, Thanks so much for your comment. XX
@@50FabulouswithMyFriendDeirdre Sometimes one of those delicate gold pendants layered with pearls updates it a bit. While they can indeed look mumsy, pearls can also do wonders for your teeth and whites of eyes, don't you think Darling?

Excellent list! I would add pearls even tho they are not too popular now. They are iconic and everyone needs a strand or earrings.

I would say earrings. I like gold as my skin reacts with other metals. I go to aerobics 4 times a week and then usually out for coffee or lunch with the girls, very glam in our activewear of course 😂

I love stacked dainty gold necklaces, but mine always seem to be the same, 16” length. It takes me forever to fit them all with different chains and/or extenders and arrange them so they look good. I usually can’t be bothered, so I just wear one.
Hi Kimberly. I couldn't agree with you more! I really love the glamorous but slightly bohemian look of stacked necklaces (and bracelets too). I often wear 2 but don't have the patience to wear 3 or more as, like you said, it can take a long time to get them sorted out! What I really love is a ready-made layered necklace where I can just attach one necklace and it's all done for me!! XX
great video , i too love tennis bracelets , i usually like to wear ones with either red or blue stones , i used to always wear red studs & dangly earrings as ive got my ears pierced 3 times lol , but lately ive taken to wearing pearl earrings , & i love them , with necklaces , i usually like to wear ones with long chains , my sister's just bought me a joan rivers faberge egg one , which is in like a gold lattice type of egg with a few stones , & it looks pretty , but when it comes to watches , i like wearing big ones , usually in blue .
Deirdre, I loved your video. I am a winter colour palette ( high contrast between skin and hair, eye colour same colouring as Corney Cox “ Monica” from the sitcom Friends ) so I suit better white good jewellery. Yes, I do agree with your list.

I'm liking the more delicate jewelry that is trending. My dear hubby has chosen most if not all the pieces that I have... 22ctw gold mid thick hoops, 3 22ctw chains in serpentine, herring bone and a reg chains all in different lengths, a small cross pendant with diamonds, heart pendant with diamonds, several others and 18ctw gold and white gold oval bangle. All were bought over 30years if our marriage but he stuck with classic styling. Being an Indigenous woman in Canada I also have much the same in Sterling silver as it looks great with my darker complexion. I'm very happy that my birthstone is pearls 😁. I admire your style and cachet Deidre! From a bit edgy to classic elegance you wear it all well 🤔 thank you for sharing your excellent sense of fashion! ❤❤❤

Hi Anne. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. To be honest, a Pearl necklace very nearly made it to the list. From a style perspective, it does meet the criteria of being chic and stylish. However, ladies of our age have to select pearls carefully so as not to create a more aging effect. Xx
I love jewelry that reminds me of special people...silver Irish love knot earrings I bought in an Irish shop with my cousin, a silver Western bangle my husband bought for me when we loved in Montana, a Canadian necklace my son got me on a mission trip, a tree of life charm on a ribbon that my Aunty gave me, pearl earrings made from a necklace my grandfather brought my grandmother from when he was in Korea in the military... so many loved ones and memories.

I love jewelry Don’t wear it all the time because I’m retired What is your opinion of a string of pearls My husband got them for me 25 years ago and they were $$ What can I wear them with today? They seem so formal The length is about the same as your necklace in the video
Oh my gosh! Pearls never really go out of style. I wear my late mother in laws 3 strand pearl necklace she purchased in Hawaii 40 50 years ago. I wear them with edgy with jeans, leather/suede jackets, boots to classic dress attire. Pearls are timeless look at Queen Elizabeth and Kate Middleton 😉😁

Pearls are for any occasion, I love wearing a long strand knotted a la Coco Chanel.
Hi Terri. I love a string of pearls. They can look glamorous and add light to the neck area. You could wear them with a sweater or a blouse but the whole outfit needs a modern element to make the pearl look seem young. I suggest you combine it with a leather jacket or a suede jacket which would make the outfit more youthful. What do you think? XX

FYI - monica vinader is 18k vermeil, the silver is sterling! must be careful mostly with her rings, the do turn silver in time from personal experience! the Swarovski is so pretty! xx
Hi there. Thanks for this. Yes, as you say, Monica VInader is vermeil which is a thicker layer of gold than you find on just gold plated. They also apply this onto sterling silver, whereas many brands which say "gold-plated" just use a base metal underneath with a thin coat of gold on the top.

Deidre I just ordered the Monica Vinader gold pendant you are wearing. MV did not have it on their site so I ordered it from Nordstrom's, without the chain. Looking for gold chain.

Hi Nancy. You’ll love the Monica Vinader pendant. They sell the chains separately actually, so you might consider that as it will be the same colour gold. You can find them through my link on the MV website. Also, they are adjustable which is ideal to wear with anything. Xx
Pearls are just timeless and suit every outfit, I have five different Pearl necklaces, long and short and double row.
The watch looks very masculine, I prefer something smaller. I disagree it would look good for evening wear, it’s just too chunky.
The average person cannot afford expensive jewellery, maybe for special occasions like significant birthdays and Christmas.
Hi Rosemary. Yes, I agree about pearls and they very nearly made my list! I love them too. I think watches are very personal in terms of taste, aren't they? I prefer a significant-looking one but, as you say, you may prefer a smaller one.
I also agree with your point about expensive jewellery. Some of the items I mention in this video are from Amazon and cost around £30 so I try to include more affordable pieces if I can.
