- I'm honored to have made this video that helped Guitare Village sell this unique guitar to Slash (Guns n' Roses).
On a casual and normal day, two guys enter the Guitare Village shop in Domont next to Paris, and put an original early 1960 Gibson Les Paul burst on the counter, that hasn't been out of its case for the past 54 years, and perfectly conserved in the Paris area. Hence its nickname: La Parisienne!
I then made this video for Guitare Village, the best music store in France. And thanks to my bro Niko, Slash himself was able to see the axe in action.
A few weeks later, the vintage 1960 burst was then sold to Slash himself, who renamed it Bridgett ;-)

I’ve heard they’ve made about 2000 burst between 58’-60’ but only 5000 of them still exist today 😂
Ha! That's Gibson for ya!
Yes I've that too
Gotta be the cleanest burst in existence? Incredible.
Yes it was completely mint, just the tuning pegs were all cracked from aging.
Yeah she's in great shape well taken of I've seen a few of them played one not nearly in that shape alot of rare and tear. Beautiful axe
Fantastic guitar...great find...congrats !
This guitar and the entire story of it is the stuff of vintage guitar nerd dreams. I once played a '60 Burst that a friend of mine had at his shop, it was amazing. I knew what I was holding, it wasn't lost on me as to the value of the guitar and it was something that will not be forgotten. Sweet guitar there, yes indeed.
I’ve played several bursts (59s and 60s) and I have to say it’s not just a legend, they really DO sound and play special. Just way too f’n expensive 😅 Just get a 59 reissue with good pups and you’ll get close enough for a fraction of the price 🎸🫶🏼
@@matninat Tim Pierce, the great session musician and youtube personality, said when playing copies of PAF pickups and 'burst copies - they sound JUST LIKE the originals. He should know better than most - no?
Une guitare... légendaire !
It looks and sounds The Business, like a Burst should.
Man, ANOTHER guy, with the CC Deville vibrato. 😮
"As you can see they're totally mint, not even cracked or anything"
Except the one with the crack.
My '91 Gibson Les Paul classic is the exact copy of the one played in this video, color, hardware (except pickups of course). Still got it best Les Paul I've ever played
Nice 🤘🏼
It might sound better than the originals, don't let the hype fool ya!
Man that is a great story. What a hidden gem! Beautiful guitar and very cool that slash purchased it. That was a nice dirty tone, what amp were you playing through?
Cheers from US
Thanks 🙏🏼 Glad you like the video! The amp I used was a 1978 Marshall JMP with a Solo Dallas boost 🤘🏼😉
@@matninat cool, sounded great. 🎸
40 % amplificator 30% guitar player 20 % guitar
I’ll take the 30% as a compliment. Thanks 😅🙏🏼
100% bulshit!
@@jcsk8 no this is like that
The guitar and amp do nothing without the player, and a good player can make any guitar/amp sound good.
@@ReValveiT_01 No, any player can touch your heart regardless of the amplifier or guitar but not sound good.
The 60 bursts didn’t fade much. They started using a UV stable stain in 1960.
When do we get to hear Slash play it?
oh yeah... that's the stuff... 🎵r0ck0n 🎵
I’m surprised Joe Bonamassa hasn’t dropped in yet to say hello …..
😅👍🏼
Sounds like Joe fell asleep, Slash beat him to it.
1960s Bursts used Different finishes THAT DONT FADE 😮
The very early 60's are the same exact guitar as a 59. This can easily be confirmed.
@@These_go_to_eleven_1959 Exactly this. Davis Deen needs to educate himself.
It was an early version before the dye change, but supposedly kept in a closet - so why did it fade....?
It has the body contours of a Jacobacci made fugazi LP.
I'm familiar with a fan on stage. But one sitting down? 😂
i wonder how much slash paid..? ive seen some great lez players{randy rhoads} at some great gigs.. but soo loud no way could you appreciate the guitar quality... but must be nice to own
1960 needs reflector knobs!!!
How much?
it's not a flame top but it's pristine I'd guess at least 500k
I don’t know. Rock star kind of budget for sure 😅🤘🏼
@@skydogstudioThere is some flame on the upper half of the top. In 2023 Gibson USA might call it an AA flame 😂
@@skydogstudio Hardly. It's a Plain Jane, so it would be significantly less, despite being all original and in exceptionally fine condition.
@@Nordic_Sky But the best sounding ones are often plain stops - the slab cut effects vibrations.
Nice epiphone copy.
Heheheheheehhe
nice one bevis 🎵r0ck0n 🎵
Well, the frets were good until mister vibrato got ahold of it. Jesus, add some reverb or something .
All I hear is the amp and a billy goat vibrato.
Turn Down Treble on that Amp 😮
jeez...great guitar played with a lousy vibrato,
My Chibson looks, plays and sounds better than this guitar.
What amp is he playing through ??
I’m playing through a 1978 Marshall JMP 😉
@@matninat great playing and tone. I thought it was the Marshall behind you but just wanted to confirm. have a 79 JMP 2203 and it is a killer amp.
@@zachariahwade8482 thanks a lot 🙏🏼Yes JMPs are the pure ACDC type of axe, especially when plugged through a SoloDallas EX Tower 🎸🔥
@@zachariahwade8482 I couldn't stand it, but in fairness I hate that kind of playing - into clean tones and pretty music.
