Thanks, glad the timing worked like that!. If you try them, let me know how they worked. I recently used them at an Animals as Leaders concert in Chicago. It was nice being able to "switch" between Engage and Experience pre and during show. - Steve
I've been reading reviews, and some people feel like there's barely any difference between the three modes, or that there's no difference between quiet and experience mode (something like that). Has that been your experience?
No, I find the difference noticeable. Hearing is funny though and very subjective. Have you listened to the sound samples in the video? They’ll show you how similar/different they are and are similar to my real world experiences using Switch 2 at concerts. - Steve
@@hearadvisor Yeah, hearing is subjective, and I did listen to the samples. I'm just being extra cautious. I'm in South America, and if I do import these earplugs, I'll pay about 60% in taxes over cost + shipping. Also, if I regret buying them, returning them will be super hard.
this is a great review, short, straight to the points and with samples, nice audio and video quality. Have you use the separate versions? im debating on getting switch 2 or 2 separate pairs (engage and experience)
Thank you! Yes, I have used the separate version. Switch 2 has its benefits being all in one, and the multi-layer ear tips are really nice. If I had to pick one though I’d go with Experience Plus, it offers the best sound quality and includes the Mute, which you can use for extra protection in louder environments. But it depends, what are you mainly using earplugs for? - Steve
@hearadvisor cinema, concerts, clubs but i also sometimes need to reduce background noise in situations i still want to hear people talking so that's why im considering the switch or both
So I already have the experience 2, I'm considering this one so I don't have to carry the mute rings around which could easily get lost. Is there a big difference in sound quality for concerts?
Thanks for watching. I really like Earpeace for their comfort and fit. Some of their filters also offer a lot of sound reduction which is great if you have louder exposures. I think Experience 2 will offer flatter sound reduction though. So it depends on your taste, what you are looking to use them for? - Steve
@@hearadvisorThank you for the reply :) I tried both, and it feels that Earpeace Music Pro’s high frequency is much more clear. But I prefer the design and comfort of Experience 2. What do you think?
Hey man great review. Just wanted to ask based on your experience how well they locked in your ears and would you be worried about them falling out in a concert mosh pit?
Thanks @byronyau. I find them to have decent retention as the “loop” portion helps lock them in place (almost like a canal lock). It’s one of the reasons I’ll use them over other concert earplugs that offer flatter sound reduction. It’ll really depend on the pit though and how well they fit in your ears. Custom deep fitting musician’s earplugs will be your best bet, have you considered them? - Steve
@@hearadvisorHi Steve thanks for the reply. I've considered custom earplugs but love the idea of the switch when I go to other events with more talking. How easy is it to talk and have a conversation in engage mode?
Hi, thank you for the review. I’m considering buying the switch 2 because of the 3-in-1. It’s for concerts, background noise cancelling and also reduce the sound of the wind when on my bike. Do you think the Switch 2 will be the perfect one for me? Thanks for your reaction👍
Hi, thanks for your comment. If you are looking for a single earplug that'll cover the range from concerts to maximum noise reduction Switch 2 is a great option. There are other earplugs like Sennheiser SoundProtex Plus that come with various filters offering different amounts of sound reduction. However, Switch 2 will be more convenient and require less fussing with swapping filters. - Steve
Thanks for the great video! Wanted to seek your opinion do you recommend Experience 2 or Experience 2 plus over Switch 2? I am thinking of using it when heading to malls or even travels where it can get noisy if crowded but also am concern if i cant hear my partner words when travelling.
Thank you! I like have the Mute, which comes with Experience 2 Plus, in case things are extra loud. So you’ll still get multiple filter options for a lower cost than Switch 2. I have Experience 2 Plus connected to my car keys for what it’s worth. - Steve
Nice, I’d love to know your thoughts after you’ve tried them. Another benefit of buying Engage, Experience, or quiet is they come with more ear tips options. Switch 2 only comes with 1 style ear tips in multiple sizes.
I have really bad congestion and nasal issues. Honestly, Its horrible. I can't stand earplugs because it makes everything radiate in my ear. I looked as these for months, waited, went back, didn't buy, then finally bought, I bought green at first because of a sale but now I'm getting silver, I hope it comes soon, since I just bought it for a job interview. I've never slept better or walked calmer down the street, I don't get the "phlegm feedback" or "Mouther Breather" sound you get with Noise cancelling earbuds,, if you know you know. I love them, when my brain remembers to use them.
I have noise phobia (from ptsd) and I'm in therapy. I need earplugs that will allow me to be more and more exposed to noise as I recover. Do you think the Switch are a good match? Or would you recommend another one?
Hello. Sorry for having a ptsd. I have Loop Switch 2 and I can say - it doesn't work. I can still hear my fridge, my neighbors, their chairs scraping, their voices almost exactly as I can hear them without anything in my ears. I honestly think you won't be satisfied with this expensive product. Update - technically there is a slight noise reduction but the amount is insignificant. Properly sealed cheap foam e.p. produce the same result. Not trying to persuade you, just telling you my experience.
Hi, if you are experiencing limited sound reduction you either (1) do not have a good seal or (2) the units are defective. Our testing is objective, meaning not based on my subjective use of them (although that plays a roll in “gut checking”), and we see the modes offering different amount of sound reduction. I’d contact Loop for an exchange. I have no bias towards loop other than personal experience and advocating for hearing conservation, they are among the quality concert earplugs available (e.g., ER20xs, Westone TRU Music, Eargasm HiFi, ACS Pacato, to name a few). - Steve
Hi @elenac7933, thanks for sharing and I’m sorry to hear about your ptsd. Loop Switch 2 would be nice as they allow you to change the amount of sound reduction without carrying multiple filters or removing the earplugs from your ears. The modes do offer increasing amounts of sound reduction as shown in the graphs and audible in the sound samples. Other earplugs like Sennheiser SoundProtexPlus are similar but require more manual changing of the filters. So I would think them to work. Although, other plugs may offer more flat sound reduction at a lower price point. Another thought is using Apple AirPods Pro G2. This would similarly allow you to reduce the world volume to taste with transparency mode, block as much sound as possible with active noise cancellation, or use them as passive earplugs (“Off mode”). - Steve
Thank you for you "honest" review. Too bad I have the exact same model in my ears and I can comfortably say that this product is garbage. Literal garbage. 50 Euros wasted but that is only my fault.
Thanks for your comment. The review is honest and predominantly objective. With that said, everyone’s ears, hearing perception, and use cases will vary. Can you explain more (comfort, sound quality, etc)? Maybe there’s something we can all glean from your experiences and also help find a better earplug for you. - Steve
