Haven’t watched this yet but knowing the mechanics of these two villains I feel like they are a perfect matchup. They both have longer objectives so you each get a fighting chance.
Mother Gothel and Scar are 2 of my favorite villains from all the expansions! Both of them are very think-y and require planning a few turns ahead. It's so satisfying to set up combos with I Love You Most with Gothel and gathering 3+ trust in a single turn. Scar gets a bad rep because he can be Hakuna Matata'ed over and over, but if you plan right you can potentially overstock your succession pile so that even if a hero is removed, you'll still get the win in. Love these videos, keep them coming!
You forgot to remove 1 trust when Rapunzel was at Corona at the beginning of the turn. Anyway, great video! Finally someone who wins with Mother Gothel
You all have the best Disney Villainous play-throughs! I love the editing and that you have the close-up of every card played so it’s easier to follow along and pick up strategies for each character, plus you all are just fun to watch. I hope to see more videos of playing Villainous, especially now that the Bigger and Badder expansion is out.
On scars turn 6, you shuffled your fate pile when technically you didn't have too. In the rules it states that you only reshuffle when you need too, example here is you depleted the fate pile by revealing the top four cards which happen to be the last 4. If only had three cards in your fate deck when you played long live the king then you would shuffle the discard in order to complete the cards effect. You don't reshuffle until you need to draw a fate card again or to complete the effect of a card. This works for the villain deck as well. I might be wrong on this but I'm sure that it states this in the base game's rules. I guess since the Mother Gothel player fated you on their turn it wouldn't have made a difference but something to keep in mind.
I have a question about Mother Gothel. She has a fate card called Aging this card can take an Ally or an Item of 2 cost or less from her realm. If she has the Royal Guard or Royal Rider in her kingdom and the Knife card is in one of them, the enemy villain who used fate and took the Aging card can take away the ally and the item that is equipped on it or just the item or just the ally ? Can you tell ?
According to "Aging," the opponent gets to choose an Ally or Item with cost 2 or less. In your case, if you have either "Royal Guard" or "Royal Rider" (both costing either 1 or 2) and either equipped with the "Knife" (1 cost). Now your opponent could choose either the "Knife" or either ally to discard, but if they choose to discard the ally who has the knife equipped, both that ally and the knife would be discarded. However, they could choose to discard just the knife if they wanted, for whatever reason.
Did we miss that interaction when played? It is totally possible that Dan missed that 😂🤣 Dr. Facilier and Ratigan are both really fun and fantastic villains to play! We will most definitely be highlighting them soon!

Rapunzel triggers at the end of each of Mother Gothel's turns. So yes, if you were to move her back to her tower, she still would move closer towards Corona at the end of that turn.
When you use the condition "Injustice" and the player does these actions the fate action is over, so draw other fate cards isn't necessary. That's why that card is made for: "it blocks a fate action"
I'm not sure I follow with what you're suggesting. Injustice can only be played once you're targeted by another players fate action. Can you elaborate?
@@hobbiesnhappiness He's trying to state that injustice prevents the effect of fating- e.g. I fate Scar, Scar plays injustice, does injustice effect of discard/return, and then fate ends without playing a fate card. However I believe you guys were right, the text clearly states 'before they reveal cards', which implies they do still reveal and fate afterwards, as well as there being no mention of 'instead of' fating.
I'm hoping someone out there knows the answer to this. I was watching another match (not with these guys) and someone was playing Scar and when they played Stampede, they moved a hero to an adjacent space and then moved the Stampede in the same adjacent space after to vanquish the hero. Legal move? Btw, love your videos Dan and Jim!
Appreciate that! To answer the question if that was a legal move or not, It's not legal if they said they did all of that due the effect of Stampede. That sequence is technically possible, only if the Scar player is at the location "The Gorge." Since that location has the actions of move, play a card, vanquish and fate, the Scar player could theoretically play the card Stampede to a location, then use the card effect to move a Hero from the location Stampede was played to, and move the Hero to an adjacent location. For this example, let's say the Scar player chose not to vanquish due the Stampede effect. Once that Stampede effects resolve (in this case moving a Hero to an adjacent location), the Scar player could then take the move an ally or item action from "The Gorge," to move Stampede to the same space they moved the Hero to (since the space is adjacent as per the text on Stampede). Then they may use the Vanquish action from "The Gorge" as well. So yes, technically it could be possible, but not just from the card effect of Stampede.
Scar player severely misplayed on turn 6. Optimally he had his board set up to vanquish mufasa as soon as he was played. He should have cycled through for whisper to play mufasa

Not sure where you see that? The "Crown" card states: "When a HERO is defeated at this location, either gain 2 Power or discard Crown to gain 1 Trust." So the card doesn't have anything to do with the location of Rapunzel. The card only triggers if there is a hero that is defeated at that location. Now, it would trigger if Rapunzel was vanquished at the same location as the crown.
Why do you say lose trust for vanquishing Rapunzel? You're not supposed to lose trust for vanquishing Rapunzel in those situations, at least I don't believe so. Where are you seeing we're supposed to lose trust?

There is a 2nd ability for Hakuna Matata that allows you to move heroes in the realm.

I have a question about Mother Gothel.

If you move Rapunzel back to her tower do you have to move her at the end of the turn towards Corona? Or do you have to let her at Rapunzels tower?

This person means “Corona”. Rapunzel’s card says lose a trust when moved to Corona.
