[BTS] BTS, The Best album - Weverse Type A set - Korgou experience

I used Korgou for the BTS The Best album as Weverse Shop wasn't shipping them outside Korea.
This album arrived at my Korean address with Korgou on June 18th. Then my sister and I ordered a couple more small items (Chimmy and RJ) to potentially save on shipping as they barely weigh anything. These two arrived a week later on June 25th.
I applied for the package forward in less than 24 hours after Chimmy and RJ arrived. Korgou forwarded the package to Fedex on July 6th. I received the package on July 12th.
I received a quote for a whopping 98,500 won or $125 CAD! I attempted to get a detailed info on the shipping fee and all I get was my package has a volume weight of 8kg. The actual weight was really just 1.3kg when I weighed it myself (but they indicated it was 2.2kg) however shipping companies go by the volume weight if it's more than the actual weight (but still it shouldn't cost that much based on my experience with other sellers, which I'll mention later). Also when I measured the box myself, the volume weight should be just 7.2kg, not 8. They're not very transparent nor accurate with their measurements.
They say on their website that they offer free consolidation. I thought they would actually consolidate my package so I can save on shipping. What they do is they will literally put all of the boxes they received in a big box, so no wonder the volume weight was a whole lot more than the actual weight.
They didn't even offer to combine the package so I can save on shipping. If you read reviews online about this company, you can read a lot of horror stories about being charged a fortune for shipping for something that didn't even cost a lot. It appears that this company doesn't care about you at all, they will just do whatever and charge you whatever, leaving you with only two options: just pay the fees or discard your merch.
Their customer service is also terrible. Not sure if it's because of the language barrier, but I thought they could try harder since their customers are mostly international.
Because of this experience, I wouldn't recommend this company. I got bigger boxes than this one from Weverse Shop, ktown4u and Gmarket and their shipping fees barely go over $50. It's clear that this company does not offer the most efficient shipping solutions for international customers. This would be the first and last time that I will be using their service.
Anyways - I am still thankful that I got my packages safe and sound and free from damage. Weverse Shop did great with the packaging (Korgou didn't do anything else other than combining the two packages into one).

Sorry you had to pay that much :( I usually opt for the 'original box removal' option as the boxes can add to the weight. I also think DHL also costs less than FedEx (but I get that this option entirely depends on which shipping company is available to you). Happy that you got your items safely!
