A BRAZILIAN family have taken the trend for exotic pets to new extremes. Not content with the standard pooch or moggy, the Borges brood have been sharing their home with a pack of SEVEN tigers. Aryas Borges, began his love affair with tigers when he found two of the big cats living in a bad state at a circus -- and decided to bring them home. His daughters Nayara, 20, Uyara, 23, and Deusanira, 24, grew up sharing their meals, beds and playtime with the fully-grown predators and walking them on a leash. And Nayara, a real-life female Tarzan, regularly hops into the family swimming pool to take a dip with her furry friends. After his success with the rescue tigers, Ary started breeding them, and the tigers still have the run of the house at the Borges family home in Maringa. The family have forged an incredible bond with the tigers after living under the same roof for so long.

I hope someone reads this. Update to the story: These tigers have had a very sad end. Ary, who owned and cared for these tigers along with his family, had all the documentation and authorizations from IBAMA (the governmental institution that handles wild life here in Brazil). One day, this same institution told Ary that he had to hand these tigers over to local zoos. Now all these tigers are dead (all 7). You can blame IBAMA for that. Ary and his family moved to Colombia, where he works as a trainer and consultant for wild life.
I blame the family for thinking they have a right to domesticate 7 tigers. Bloody irresponsible and the blood is on their hands alone.

People underestimate how powerful wild animals are. A Siberian tiger can jump up to 16 feet in the air and runs up to 40 mph. One strike of its claw can take a head off. Even if the tiger wants to kiss you on the face his tongue is so sharp like sandpaper. When he licks you it will leave a red mark on your skin.
If even my domesticated pet cat can sometimes grab my hand and bite me then imagine what a tiger can do in a split of a second. He is not domesticated and will always be wild.
That family is risking their lives everyday.

After watching all these pet tiger/lion/grizzly bear/alligator videos, it seams clear that the animal either trusts you 110% and accept you as a family member or they don't. There doesn't seem to be an in between.
If raised from the young properly, they'll behave like regular pets. That's what I've read, heard people say and seen in such videos

I've recently been reading articles and watching vids about people owning unusual pets that ultimately caused their demise. Bears, apes, various reptiles, etc.. In almost all these stories the humans believe they developed a special bond that would never be overcome by animal instinct... An animal's behavior can change in an instant, unpredictably, and when it does we are reminded that nature can never be truly tamed. Yesterday's source of scratches can quickly become today's sustenance. I love animals and nature as much as the next person, but I have a fearful respect for their power and survival instinct. No pet tigers for me!

I believe they do have good intentions, judging by how hard they try to care for them. However, these animals are simply not meant to be pets. They are too unpredictable. Big cats should only be kept in captivity in sanctuaries for the preservation of their species. They belong in huge enclosures which are similar to their habitats in the wild, not in houses and in concrete cages. They are stunning, but deserve better than to be a pet.

Tigers are meant to be in the wild, not in a house being treated as a stuffed animal by this family. Their intentions are good, don't get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that they recognized the poor conditions the tigers were living in in the circus, but that does not mean they can handled like a dog just because they feed them regularly. They should be in a preserve or a zoo, wear they have the room and the capability to have the tigers live in conditions closest to their natural habitat.

That is not to say that they do not support conservation efforts, but their goal is to give animals that cannot be released into the wild a place where they can live happy and healthy lives not to grow their numbers. Many of these sanctuaries will actually fix their rescues to prevent breeding in captivity. I recommend taking a look at the Big Cat Rescue TH-cam channel for reference. They do great work. I wish that these tigers could go to a similar place rather than continue to pose a threat to the public as they do now.

First thing, they found them in the circus, living in bad condition, without their mom. Baby tigers need their mom to teach them how to hunt and live, so without mom around, theyre just dead fish.
Second thing, by adopting an animal, u ard take risk of getting injure by accident. They all knows and they ard accept it, cause they ( tigers ) are their family.
Third thing, are they ( tigers ) happy with this family or not? Remember that tiger is a part of cat species, and cats will only show their belly to who they trust.
