Exhibit A Oakland - Be My Safety M1

Exhibit A Oakland is an Exhibition of various data points that illustrate Anti-Black outcomes in the city of Oakland. The idea behind the visualizations is modeled after the work of WEB Dubois and his Data Visualizations at the Paris Exhibit of 1900. Dubois introduced the America Negro to the world, by telling the story of freedom from slavery, and progress to citizenship by in a first of its kind exhibition of data visualizations.
Exhibit A’s music project was produced and performed by Candice Antique in collaboration with many performing artists in Oakland. The idea behind the music is to humanize the data creating empathic entry points for people to see beyond the numbers.
