I just started riding last year. I had supermini at first, then a 125, and then the 250f. I can honestly say a 250 is my favorite but it’s way too fast for a starter bike. The 125 sucks but it really helped me because its so slow that I gained some confidence really quickly.
i once bought a 125 just to help me learn whips because they're light... but had so much fun racing it that i never got around to making a step-up jump to learn to whip on. always ran 250 2-strokes in the day. but started out on 125's. now use 250 2-strokes and 250F's. 450's scare me.
I agree with your comments. I personally think the 125 is the most important bike for every rider to learn to ride. It will prevent you from doing things you’re not ready for! I see many people jumping things on 4 Pukes they’d never be able to do on a 125! Why is that so important in my mind, safety! People jump things now with a 10% skill level that half the pros wouldn’t jump in the 80’s! The difference is the pros have the ability to correct mistakes and/or deal with mistakes whereas an 10% skill new rider doesn’t!
100% agree. I ride a two-stroke, and I see dudes with terrible technique jumping all kinds of stuff at the track that I don’t do, just because they are on 450’s. It’s crazy

They are the greatest moto implement to learn roll speed and carrying momentum through the track

The 125 is an essential tool.
Have you done a walkthrough of you van setup? Please do if not!
lol. The last time I signed up for three classes they were 250, Open, and Vet. It was 97 degrees that day so I left after the fifth moto.
U stayed with us that weekend at Winchester for that one race u raced that 125 lol I remember that weekend
wonder if that guy writes with a sharpie on a big piece of carboard, with the camera in the center of it.
sure sounds like he's reading.
Love the setup!!!

I went from a cr80r to a Yz450F, and I’m 110 pounds, I feel it’s slowish I don’t understand why people say 250s are so power and scary
I went from a TTR 50 to a TTR 230 to a YZ450F light work 😂
