The trick that I am doing is Autel Maxicom Mk808bt at 150 a year subscription. I am looking at J2534 for dealer diagnostic if i need to go farther. I have 42 resets and bidirectional controls, so that gets the diagnostic started. You can always buy the scope. The software is the same as 906.

I have a Snap On Zeus been trading up since the brick, updates cover everything, actually cheaper now then lesser comparable scan tools. Also got a maxisys elite 3yrs ago top of the line no longer supported 1st and last autel for me.
I really want to get a demo Zeus and try it out! It’s a lot of money tho, I don’t really have 10G to throw at a scan tool rn and the big downfall is I need something that will do heavy duty transport trucks and my rep says Zeus is light car and truck only
I have an autel elite that i purchased in 2019. It came with 2 years of free updates and ive paid the 1200ish to update it last year and this year. My autel elite has made me so much money and has been able to do everythi g with the exception of some slight coding issues on some mercedes. battery is starting to die but other than that i am super happy woth Autel.
That’s awesome! I’ve recently learned that autel is a branch of launch. My shop recently purchased the tool and now that I have access to it I’ll be doing further in depth videos. Glad to hear the autel is working good 👍
im mainly looking at other brands of scan tools to add on. I am getting more and more into coding and advanced programming and diagnostics. I onow one wont do it all and i am looking at maybe a launch or a snapon zeus+.
You're better off with the Launch and the Phoenix Max than with the Snap On Zeus. I've had top of the line Snap On Scanners for the last 13 years except for the Zeus Plus (which I demo'd for 2 weeks. I currently have the Verus Edge and the Zeus is a lot faster but the Zeus still pales in comparison to the Autel). The Autel is an overall better scan tool as it is strong in Domestic, Foreign and European vehicles. Snap On's licensing prevents them from having the capabilities that Autel, Launch, Autologic, TopDon and other manufacturers have. Snap on is slipping and they need to step it up big time. I almost never pull out my snap on when I have a german car enter my shop. I have an old Launch Scan tool that I use but for some reason I can't update it. @@luisPerez-wy9cx
Our sub for the throttle 3 was $850CDN for the year all function if i recall
And when purchased we got 2 years N/C subscription also came with a XPROG3 key
/IMMO programmer.
Also its alot cheaper for the X-431 FIX i think it was $1200 for the year maybe less.

Good review! I've had problems with some of my Autel equipment, so not a fan. Was looking at the Launch, but most reviews seem to skip over the subscription issues. My Snap-On Modis Ultra is way behind on updates and the rep is pushing the Zeus+ hard and heavy. With trade in, $10K is still a bit much for me😕

You’ll enjoy it, takes a while of playing around to get used to it but it does have a pile of functions
Have you played with the launch off of Amazon was looking at those just started my mobile diesel business and was looking for a scan tool

On Code Assist.... did you tap on the line where it showed the code, it sometimes will open another window for that problem and repair.

I only had the unit as a demo for a couple weeks and had to return it however I’ll be receiving my own in a couple weeks here so I’ll check it out and see what kind of answers I can give you. Thanks for commenting :)
@@Tech-28 i received a x431 pad VII and it was very impressive but it was not fully functional. There was a strange question that appeared if I was going to use the scan for business or personal home use. I pushed on home and I think it deactivated many features. I learned a lot. It's very expensive with the app purchases. I could not get it to read tire pressures but it did read the tire pressure sensor id's. Key learning is important also which didn't work. The BST360 is great/fantastic and works on cell phone app. and does a print out on tests.
It is a Chinese product and there is a little bit of a translation problem which is to be expected, as with any language. I think it is set up as a pay per use, as needed. which is what car manufactures are going to be doing.
PID data is very useful
Why not go with the autel cv or the prolink edge snapon prolink edge you can get mack cummins ect I believe once u buy you are good

I got scammed with autel i was looking for a truck diagnostic tool that has wiering diagrams so on the advertisement was saying that it comes. Big BS it has nothing like that. Autel 909cv nothing better than any other Chinese tool.
And nothing better than the ancel6 that i got it $650.

It was a loan program where I was aloud to borrow it for 2 weeks to try it out. I was able to borrow it from a parts store in my area that sells them. The scan tool comes with all of the light car and truck + motorcycle software and all of the light car and truck OBD connectors, the heavy equipment/truck software and hardware is offered as an additional add on package. The scanner with light car and truck is about 7,000 cad. Depending where you get it from and the truck software and hardware it an additional 3500$
CAD so multiply those prices by about 0.73 to get the USD price.
Great review and awesome info. I’m sure not one single mechanic that’s using this review to save money and time and making an informed purchase gives a rats fuzzy ass bout grammatical errors 🙄
Subscriptions suck, really suck because as a tech it's hard to make $$ per hour per $400 day minimum
If you have to pay for each and every little thing then it shouldn’t cost $5000 + subscriptions
