    Bought the triumph sport 660 less than a year ago . Had the Suzuki on loan while mine was in for a service, I just fell in love with this bike and immediately regretted buying my triumph . I so wish I had the money now to buy one !

    I have one and I made a decision after owning a MT09SP 2021 and riding the Kawasaki SX1000 2022 for a few hours - I've ridden many bikes over the years including BMW XR1000 S1000R K1300R R1200R and the Suzuki is the best all round bike by far - in fact I only own 1 bike now the Suzuki

      Hi, Iam considering MT09 or GSX-S 1000GT or non GT as my next upgrade, I currently own a CB650F and cant decide :D My main question is, is it sporty enough compared to mt-09? thanks for answer

    • @noninag2296
      @noninag2296 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ghartos2160 Definitely the Suzuki is about .5 second faster on the Qtr Mile and about the same 0-100kph - also I find the suspension is alot more comfortable whilst the handling is still excellent

    • @ghartos2160
      @ghartos2160 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@noninag2296 that sounds really good, if its as good as mt-09 in corners, but miles better for touring, then its no brainer. Only thing is slightly higher price. But I cant see myself doing 2000km+ trip on the mt-09. I also like riding in the spring and autumm, sometimes even in winter on better days, so the wind protection would come handy I think.

      I am undecided between Suzuki GSX 1000 GT vs BMW 1000XR and Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. Have you ridden the alternatives recently?

    • @noninag2296
      @noninag2296 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I rode both - the XR I rode twice for about 2 hours at a time - I found it to be uncomfortable for me - it also rattled and was nowhere near as smooth as the Suzuki.
      The Ninja 1000SX - I rode it 3 times - the last time was a 3 hour ride through the twisties - then across long flat sweepers and then up the freeway. The main differences are - even with bar risers its more forward than the Suzuki, its suspension is softer (The front forks are fully adjustable and set up well) - a definite wallow from the rear shock mid corner. The Suzuki is quicker more sporty and slightly more buzzy than the Kawasaki and for me @ 5 feet 8" more comfortable

    I really wanted the Suzuki GSXS1000GT, for all the same reasons listed in the video, plus, Suzuki’s huge reliability advantage. But when I went to the dealer to buy one, I learned it was just too compact for my 6’5” frame. Sitting on it, felt more like a 600 than a litre bike. I ended up with a V-Strom 1050. No, it doesn’t have near the power of the GSXS, but it fits me, and I can ride it comfortably all day. I have put over 12,000 miles on it in the first 4 months owning it. But dang, I wish I had fit on the GSXS!

    I used to ride a Katana way back in the days. Over two decades later I consider myself a novice once more. Wanting to be sensible I considered Suzuki's naked bikes. The GSX-S600 was considered for about 1.3 seconds. Then, the 750 quickly lost to the 1000. Logically, my 17 year old brain resurfaced and took us to the GSX-R750! Minutes later, just at the time I was about to click on the 'Busa, my adult brain regained control and recommended that we compromise. As "we" browsed the many bike categories we spotted the one. A beautiful and symphonic blend of Sport and Tourer. It's the Crossover of bikes. It's not a car but it's not a van either. It's almost an SUV but it's fast. Anyways, I've ordered one sight unseen. I hope I pass the Motorcycle Safety Course!

    I bought this bike thinking at 57 years old it was time to chill. I sold my Tuono V4 and bought a Tuono 660 with the idea that would do the trick. Nope I ride that thing as hard as it will go. It is an absolutely awesome bike! The light weight, steller breaks and the most commutable seat I have ever ridden. Now about the GSXS1000GT+ (man I think it needs a longer name). This may have a GT in the name but that is a lie for the insurance company. The bike is so fast, and handles so well, it is just a sport bike in sheep's clothing. OMG I wanted to slow down and ride a sensible bike. This thing is not that. Pluses, power, handling, smooth, plush and since I have only ridden naked bikes nice wind protection (compared to no wind protection so my opinion doesn't matter).At first I hated the mirror location , but then realized they are perfect. The quick shifter is awesome better than any Aprilia I have ever owned. Negatives, the seat is not as good as I hoped. At 140 miles my old ass starts to hurt. It needs a better seat if you want to ride it for the reason I bought it. The breaks are ok but I am adjusting ( once again I am coming from a 405 lbs bike with awesome breaks), I think if I put a better seat, steel break lines, and some better fluid this can be an awesome all-around bike! Forgive me I keep telling myself that a different bike will slow me down but I am realizing it is not the bike. But after 37 years of street riding I have no self control (is there a stupid rider anonymous I can join? my name is mike and I am a speed junky please help me.)! Ride safe and remember there is no trophy at the end of the day. The goal is to make it home!!!!!!

    Atleast for an year, I was found a research between Suzuki gt and Kawasaki 1000sx. But I believe, ninja is a winner here as a sports cruiser. But aesthetics I prefer Suzuki than Kawasaki. And I am owning a ninja 1000sx for last 5 months, happy so far.

    IMO it's a close race between the Tracer 9gt & GSXS1009GT, with the edge going to the Suzuki because of the technology. The Tracer does have heated grips & luggage as standard, the Suzuki doesn't. The same goes for the semi active suspension, Tracer has less power but does weigh slightly less. My Tracer 9gt returns 52mpg US on mixed riding, most of which is fuel ecconony unfriendly commuting. A friend has a GSXS100GT+ & he only gets 44mpg US & that's with a lot of longer rides.
    The new Tracer 9gt+ will narrow the technology gap, but the power difference will remain & the price will increase.
    I tested the NT1100 & BMW F900XR, both seemed great compared to my old bike (GS500F) but they were simply bland & very expensive compared to the Suzuki & Yamaha.
    What sealed the deal for me is that I'm tall & the Suzuki just felt like my legs were bent too much. On the Tracer I get a lot more legroom....but then you find how bad the seat is! Yamaha, what were you thinking?
    Certainly Suzuki will be giving Yamaha some stiff competition. It's a great bike at a great price & my advice is to test drive the heck out of one first.....but if you test a Tracer for more than an hour make sure you have padded motorcycle shorts on.

    and what about the passenger ?
    an actuall test drive would have the info about that.
    Is the rear seat good for long distance travel ?
    Or does the suspension cope with the extra mass ?
    Or does the airflow suck when you carry a second person ?
    welll.... all that are missing

    I totally agree with your opinions, I was ready to buy a new one, when a used Ninja (2020) 1000sx found me. It cost $4K less than a new Suzuki and only had 9K miles on it and in showroom condition. In reviews of the 2 bikes head to head the Kawasaki often comes out on top, but truly ,IMO, if you are going to buy new, the Suzuki edges out the Kawasaki.

      Everything the Suzuki does, the kawasaki can do the same or do it better.
      the torque is also in favor of the kawasaki...

    The close ratio gear box is more suited to the higher reving GSXR and race track usage and less for street, especially touring. This is where Kawasaki's SX outshines the Suzi. Just depends on what you consider is your priority.

    • @MalShakur
      @MalShakur ปีที่แล้ว

      I own the GT and recently test rode the SX. The Kawi is nice but felt noticeably underpowered compared to the GT. The GSXR DNA is definitely there but it's a huge plus for many of us that actually came from GSXRs. It's definitely more sport than tourer and won't be for everyone.

      Looked at both GT1000 & 1000SX for some time, but power steadiness as a tourer and the smoothness of the 1000SX won me over. Not sure I’d claim any of these bikes as ‘head and shoulders’ better than the others… they are all solid bikes from strong brands.

  • @carlosalonso9866
    @carlosalonso9866 ปีที่แล้ว

    Outclassed is a steep assertion. I don’t quite see the point of compairing bikes from their spec sheets or price lists. As you said, people who choose the KTM or the BMW will do that before they hit the showrooms before they want the LC8 or the engine from the 1000RR foremost. As for the Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki, they are very close and I guess the price will be a very clear factor explaining the Suzuki’s success.

    The suzuki beating the Kawasaki 1000SX !? 😯 I don't think so ! Not in a million years !
    On top of that the Kawasaki is not 139HP but 142HP and I dare anyone to see a real life changing difference between 150hp and 142hp ! 😅
    Kawasaki makes some of the best bikes on the planet and their engines are known for being particularly lively !
    Kawasaki beats also the suzuki when it comes to torque : 106nm @9250rpm for the suzuki and 111nm @8000rpm for the kawasaki (which is better and at en even lower rpm's).
    The kawasaki is a little bit cheaper too.
    Moreover the kawasaki is available in the "performance edition" with akrapovic exhaust also.

    I bought a 2023 GSX-S1000 GT Plus in january.. AWESOME bike, does have some flaws but still a great bike. side bags are about $1500.00 total. the plus comes with them but it is EXTRA. the MySpin App is useless. it works sometimes and other times it will NOT connect at all. the bluetooth does connect to the phone but WHY.. I just bluetooth my phone to my helmet. no need to go thru the bike's system. the APP, when it works, puts your phone in 'driving' mode,, it won't do shit. the quick shifter on the bike isn't the best. very JERKY and clunky. the cruise control isn't very handy on curvy roads but it works great on the straight a ways. the side bags are nice and large but recommends a max speed of 81MPH. 81MPH? why 81? I get about 40mpg average. it does have a nice confortable ride,,, not GoldWing but smooth enough, yet still has the sport bike stiffness.

    • @redhytech

      @fourteeneightyeight it's NOT always clunky but a lot of the times it is... it may be me... 30 plus years of using a clutch and not having an issue changing gears,, then onto nowdays where pussies need a automatic motorcycle to ride. what are you gonna do? lol

      A+ report, Red! I WAS wondering about that quick-shifter; my old GSF1200S shifts like butter, I can't see why clutch-less shifting is so preferential. PS- my vintage 1216cc Bandit makes 120 BHP, 84 lbs of torque, and weighs 30 pounds less than the GT. And it's paid for. Ok Ok... no TFT. So what.

    SO... just how much did Suzuki UK ..uhm... PROVIDE to you, for this glowing assessment? I mean, the bike ain't PERFECT, mate; every bike has it's deficiencies, eh? For example- that HORRID pointy nose. Cheezis. And NO ONE will ever see that single, tiny LED light coming at them, especially the DEER, of which the US Northeast is chock-a-block with.

      To say no bike is perfect and then point out something that’s not aesthetically pleasing to YOU says very little. Looks of something are subjective and to little concern to go and say the bike isn’t perfect. The single lit headlight is a problem though.
