    Had a high stress day. So wathing you mow your lawn is perfect way to take my mind off things. Thanks :)

    That looks like so much fun. Never had more than a walk-behind myself.

    Hardly any grass there to mow! You should mow lawns in NZ, grows like wildfire here. I have a Tecumseh 3.5hp 2 stroke Masport mower I need to repair at some point. We've had it for nearly 20 years and its still fairly mechanically sound. Just a shame you can't get parts for them anymore

    I love how you take the time to reply to almost every comment on each of your videos.

    Question, do mower blades have to have that turned up edge on them?

    • @Muffin_Masher
      @Muffin_Masher 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Machine Man No, the lift on the blade is for "throwing" the grass either into the catcher or in this case out the side................... High lift blades work much better to fill a catcher, but also wear out faster............ so long as there is still metal there it will cut grass though, and plenty of mower blades are basically flat. All depends if you want to collect the clippings or not

      @MrMacman98 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** I see. I was wondering wether it would be cheaper to use angle iron to make new tips for my old mans mower. Since that has the right angle edge on it

    So after 3 years do you still like this mower? I’ve seen a few on the used market.

    • @Aussie50
      @Aussie50  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a fantastic machine, just replacing belts and deck universal joint, a bit expensive and hard to find, but for what its worth, its still a beast of a mower!. the hydrostat transmission is still fine, no leaks, engine is running perfectly. it does 2 acres now that I gave it to my mother, it replaces a gas powered one half its size and she loves it, jobs done in less than half the time her old gas one would do it LOL

    • @jackfrost1031

      Aussie50 thanks for the reply. I love seeing old machines kept up. I see you're an extrusion guy too. That's my day job!

    You're not doing any mowing, you're just playing, and I don't blame you one bit for it, cos it looks fun... :D
    It's be nice when I can get my mowers out when the weather improves, love the sound of small engines running... :D

    • @Aussie50
      @Aussie50  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hehe yeh, its fun to do the lawns when you have a machine like that :D, pushing a mower around my yard is an hour long job, and not fun :(. hence the ride-on :D

    • @twocvbloke
      @twocvbloke 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aussie50
      My green mower (some Lidl-brand thing with a B&S 575EX OHV engine) is fun to use as it's a bit fast with it's self-propelling transmission, so it pretty much drags me along for the ride... :P
      Going to strap a camera onto it when the weather improves just for boredom's sake, just cos I can... :D

      @twocvbloke 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      smallenginedude71
      hehe, that could be dun, but our grass patch is so uneven that something like that would get stuck, but it's not unheard of, old Atco mowers used to have a trailer seat attachment that did just that, got towed along by the self-prop drivetrain so the rider just had to turn the handle to steer... :D

    ***** Gees its got a little bit of a tick in the motor, is that because its old, or its being a typical diesel?

    • @aussie5022
      @aussie5022 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's normal for one of these, even when new they had that level of clatter.

    • @Aussie50

      yeh, they all run SAE30 engine oil!, I talked to my local mower expert and he told me most, if not all makers use SAE30 (briggs engine oil)

    You should keep an eye out for a zero-turning radius mower. You think that mid-deck was fun, just wait til you hop on a ZTR and take it for a spin!

  • @TheSpazModic
    @TheSpazModic 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Idles quite low for a small-displacement engine.

    • @Aussie50
      @Aussie50  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TheSpazModic I imagine it would not be very happy if it weren't for the mass of the flywheel and drive shaft.

    • @TheSpazModic
      @TheSpazModic 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aussie50 I'm sure.
      I may have the opportunity to buy an identical one in a few days. Doesn't run, and no history is available. If it's cheap enough, I might take the gamble. Bragging rights, of course lol. It seems that there are just a handful of these in the US...

    • @treyhouse928

      diesels normally idle real low compared to a small gas mower

    I'm surprised no one is talking about the obvious rod knock in that motor.

    • @Aussie50
      @Aussie50  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a diesel, its called diesel knock and these tiny little ones do it from new.

    • @Banshee365
      @Banshee365 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know a lot about diesels. Most everything I own is diesel. I also just picked up one of these T1600's for a family member that needed a mower. It doesn't have a knock like that. Maybe the camera's mic is picking up the sound weird or something.

    Nice tractor mate but I could push mow that tiny bit of lawn in 15 minutes. It's a waste to purchase a nice machine like that to clip only a quarter of an acre. Send it to me. I have 5 acres and live on 200 acres. I'll put it to work

  • @matthewjones9259
