I play qanun for about 10 years now but everything i gained was from self learning.. About a year ago i participated in a competition in Damascus for qanunests and we played this piece in the qualifiers.. and i won the 5th place on Syria.. However this music reminds me of those days.. thank you for bringing the happiness into my heart in this tough time ❤️❤️

Wonderful interpretation Maya! Perfect balance with the oud player. You play with your heart without the distractions of excessive embellishments. What is the name of the oud player? She is so precise and talented. I wonder if she has played her own oud solos. Love your music.
I heard your interview on Radio 4 this evening and came to look for you on TH-cam afterwards! I have never really found such an interest in this style of music before or the Kanun, but you really bring it to life!
