I think it’s safe to say that you’re your own worst critic, because you absolutely could’ve put this out, as is, gotten your coin, and moved on. But your passion trumps that, and it’s kind of awesome to see. I thought the song was beautiful and vulnerable, and you can reuse anything from it if you’re inspired to do so.

Hello James. I rarely comment on your videos but this time i feel like i really want to. Just wanted to say, that even though I'm not the biggest fan of your music (i listened to your album for about a week, had a lot of fun(?) with it, but it didn't really stick with me for a multitude of reasons that I won't get into right now), but i still love the fact that you do music at all. You sound fantastic on record, and from what I've heard your live performances are very impressive as well. You have a lot of potential that I KNOW you'll realize because the passion that you have for your craft is second to none. And even though your debut LP didn't stick with me, i will be listening to everything you put out in the future, because I know that one day you will release something that my (extremely picky) brain will love to bits. I guess I'm writing all this more so for myself rather than for you, because there have been times where i felt legitimately guilty for not listening to your album, i.e. supporting you in something that means the world to you. But that's a me problem anyways. So yes, i hope that you know that even though your music might not be for everyone, the passion, the love, the care that you put into it doesn't go unnoticed. P.S. if you ever release something along the lines of "Please Stay", "Thumbs", "Christine" by Lucy Dacus, or "We're In Love" by boygenius, i will despise your very existence (endearingly) as i cry myself to sleep.
