I love Michael but a lot of what he says is simply not true. When I bought the Love Drive cassette back in the 80s it was known that Michael did most the guitar and he was in the credits. Matthias did very little if any of love drive. It is known that Mattias's first real album was Animal Magnetism. I dont know if scorpions management changed it now a days to look like Mattias did it or like Michael says no one gets credit for his parts. This is very odd that this is all comming out now after 35 years. Love drive was released in 1979. Michael didbnt seem to have an issue until a few years ago. It makes him look bad bashing his brother Rudolph like he does. He must be hurt over something we dont know about. I hope they can work whatever it is out.

Fuck Rudolf for basically trying to erase Michael from history and not giving him Michael his credit where it was due. Michael played all the way thru on the Lovedrive album and not to mention wrote the songs that still til this day they play in concert. I think Rudolf got greedy and decided not to give his brother any credit and hey, more royalties for Rudolf.... another thing that pisses me off is Rudolf going around making up these stories about how HE wrote the songs the same songs that Michael himself wrote. It's just wrong totally wrong. I like both Rudolf of and Michael but have way more respect for Michael.
The old version which I believe to be true is that he didn't want to play Uli Roth's bits from the 4of 5 original Scorpions albums. And he was doing his own thing and he did the 1st MSG album w/Gary Barden shortly after. He is talking about this now I have no idea. UFO were never as big in the US as the Scorpions became . If he had wanted to be in the Scorps he could have . As a guitarist I think him insulting Jabs is in very poor taste ! The problem now is, that he still hasn't received his writing credits on the 2015 re-issue even though contractual problems no longer exist. The same situation applied to Paul Raymond when joined UFO and wrote songs for the "Lights Out" and "Obsession" albums, yet Paul has received full writing credits on the 2008 reissues of both albums.
Funny how between the two brothers, Rudolf got the most fame and fortune, because he doesn't have a fraction of the talent that Michael does. When Rudolf can do more than bash out the same old tired power chords over and over again, have him get back to me! Michael absolutely smokes him on lead guitar!

The real reason the Scorpions took off after the Love Drive album is Mattias Jabs, especially on the Blackout album, that was their true breakout in North America. I remember when that came out. No One Like You was on the radio as much as anything by Van Halen, or Ozzy/Randy Rhoads at the time. Mattias has never been given his due, he's the one who came up with all the great riffs that brought the Scorps into mainstream success, he's on par with the Van Halens and the like in the 80's
Mathias is great but never came out any riffs for the Scorpions in Blackout and Love At first Sting it was all Ruddy's to say he wrote riffs for the Scorpions especially in Blackout and Love at first sting is so wrong . Having said that Mathias is a great guitarist and very melodic and a nice guy !
Michael Schenker has done A LOT of albums with different line-ups that has gotten very little attention. Now he bascially have to have a arguement with his brother over some nonsence to get publicity. Nothing against the guys here at "The Metal Voice" but I think it's a shame that artists can't get publicity based on their music (which often is quite good)!
