About the dead husband thing, this is for a lot of companies. When my dad passed away, my poor mom had to call the insurance companies several times to get them to remove my dad's name from the bills. Calling, faxing the certificates, etc. It is not easy especially when you're just trying to figure out how to live and process your grief.
Friend of mine from high school had their water in his grandfathers name for this reason. Also the city would not just move it to a living family member. They wanted to treat like a new service. With an activation fee. To my knowledge it is still in his grandfathers name.

I work in the I.T. sector and yes all of this is true, look up "dark fiber" or "black fiber" which are stands of fiber buried near or by the streets, and there are complete trunks of cables that are dead, ISP have ZERO incentive to bring internet to rural areas or remote areas because there more users they have, they need higher bandwidth and their equipment dates back to lake 2000's they have ZERO incentive to update or upgrade the nodes at the CO's or to connect extra fibers from the dark trunks, plus building this infrastructure will skyrocket the cost of each household that has internet.
Pretty much correct. They do not want to expend the extra effort to put service in the middle of nowhere. The service will never pay for itself with so few customers, the ISP will need to have a tech within reasonable distance in order to work on the device(es), there would have to be a whole mess of extra transport equipment to get the connection to extend out that far...all for a handful of customers. They’re not gonna do it. Essentially, the ISP would lose money on the venture, so without strong government incentive, they won’t do it.
You know Hasan knows what's up because he worked as an IT technician at one point before doing stand up. Thanks for covering this issue dude. :D Us in the internet industry are frustrated about this issue because it creates a lot of issues for us.

Why don't they just add the question,"Do you have internet at your home?" Into the US census, so that we can get a more accurate number of people without internet.
A question like that should include the quality of that internet and differentiate between WiFi (at home) and mobile data (cell towers). I work in the I.T. sector and yes all of this is true, look up "dark fiber" or "black fiber" which are stands of fiber buried near or by the streets, and there are complete trunks of cables that are dead,
ISP have ZERO incentive to bring internet to rural areas or remote areas because there more users they have, they need higher bandwidth and their equipment dates back to lake 2000's they have ZERO incentive to update or upgrade the nodes at the CO's or to connect extra fibers from the dark trunks, plus building this infrastructure will skyrocket the cost of each household that has internet.
My boi Hasan going full John Oliver at the end there and I'm here for it.

It is the same with a certain ISP in the UK what you said at 5:18

Fortunately she was speaking to me and I resolved all of her issues with her other home utilities providers. That's my good deed of 2015.
How is it weird for an ISP to ask for a certificate of death? I worked for a phone carrier, we did the same thing. People will try anything to get out of a contract, companies have to treat you based on how the shittiest people treat the company or they will get scammed all the time. We all have to take our shoes off at the airport because 1 fucknut tried to smuggle a butter knife onto a plane, thanks fucknut.

Why don't they just add the question,"Do you have internet at your home?" Into the US census, so that we can get a more accurate number of people without internet.
A question like that should include the quality of that internet and differentiate between WiFi (at home) and mobile data (cell towers). For example I wouldn't be 'rural' by Ohio or Wisconsin standards but mobile data coverage in my area is laughable since my home is more than 15 minutes away from the "city". My household relies entirely on WiFi.
-Granted, I'd much rather have bad mobile data than land taken up by cell tower development.-

Brad DeFruiter did they build another covered gas pump thingy over the shell gas station next to buffalo wild wings? Last time i was home was about 3 years ago before that video was shot
I initially thought it was college and harmony too but there’s two reasons i doubt it:
1) if the gas station is on the northeast corner, then that building with the blue rooftops should be the McDonald’s behind a bunch of trees, which it isnt
2) if that’s college and harmony, the wide shot is looking Northwest so you should be able to see horsetooth mountain, but it isn’t there
Although the shot of the lady in the van is clearly on college at the drake intersection looking south, since you can see the vitamin shoppe and that fugly car dealership across the street from jiffy lube
