- Hello everyone, it's been a while since I last posted anything. So this time, when I had some free time to draw a new picture for Mineko, I couldn't wait to share it.

how interesting that your base colors are in shadow, and then you add light. i've always assumed you're supposed to start the opposite--find the "true" color of something and then add shadow.

I've always been amazed at Dao's process working this way too, but what amazes me even more is how he just seems to instinctively know what the "true" colour in shadow should look like right off the bat! It's not like he puts down normal local colour and then changes it to look in shadow, he just straight up paints the shadow colour somehow. Incredible colour theory and light knowledge.
@@NairaWolfGaming exactly!! I watched Dao’s real-time video drawing Mineko, and watching the way he starts with the shadow and then finds the filter that shows the lighting he wants was inspired. I’ve tried to imitate it with…underwhelming results 😅

I find it incredibly stunning and mesmerising how you use light and shadow to make your objects and characters take or appear 3d - more precisely i mean they appear visually tangible. wonderful work. ❤❤🔥🔥👍🏾👍🏾
