I've now been a groomer for a year and I have never had to be this rough with the numerous cats, including many Persians, I've groomed. It's honestly not very hard to treat them kindly and still get done what you need too in a timely manner. Being in the mobile grooming service I am very very time restricted. Just putting my experience in there so people understand where I'm coming from. If you need to get a better angle while cutting, rotate your body or the entire cats body. Don't just grab it's scruff and angle it's head at 90° angle.

all professional cat groomer that show for show use a rounded tip to trim tip of ears - she should have scruffed the cat while doing its head, it releases a hormone that calms them .. holding by the neck just dries them crazy. Sculting the face with fingers to achieve persan roundness is who you learn to at the National Cat grooiming institute. About the sissors, they are thinning shears - I always oo this part with the tip of the scisoors pointing down for security reasons and preferable with round tip.
and yes, I do have experience in owning this breed and as well as caring for their daily needs. there is NEVER a need to snatch on their head, ears or fur. not even with the most difficult babies. not okay. and the way you clean his eyes... poor guy I sure hope he doesn't belong to you.

Try it on yourself you will see that it pulls some hair out and it hurts Thats why the cat is trying to get away... also you are not protecting the ears enough. If he happens to lift his ear your thinning shears will do allot of damage. Always keep a finger on the ear you are working around.
I am a cat show exhibitor/groomer and she is absolutely using the thinning shears correctly. Many types of high end thinning shears are meant to be pulled through the coat and not "scissored" like regular shears. Pet groomers usually have very limited knowledge on show grooming techniques....

I've owned and operated a very successful cat grooming business and we by policy do not sedate cats, it is actually illegal here but don't just take my word for it perhaps you can do some research next time you wish to make such sweeping generalisations. Oh and I used to groom show cats - Birmans so Ive seen from both sides. I am a certified master groomer dedicating over 15 years of my life to handling, caring, showing breeding etc etc You seem to have a warped sense of grooming - something you should know 100% in and out. Please give me some examples of this nonsense you speak of. Actually dont bother i DONT CARE.

Never use a brush on a Persian-only a metal comb and hold the skin between your fingers and comb so not to pull the sensitive skin. Most "professional" groomers treat cats the same as if they are grooming dogs- brushing strips the coat.

Whoops. iPad accident! The scissor comb attaches to the top blade of your scissor and allows you to comb and scissor without putting down and picking up.
