Great vlog.. yes the wind can play havoc found that out when on the river Calder, wind was really causing the boat too travel at a funny angle which I believe in boaters term is named 'crabbing' ... have fun and keep safe...😊

We love Stoke Bruerne .Prior to covid they held an annual war weekend where everyone dresses up in 1940’s style.The Spice of Bruerne Indian restaurant is well recommended.Perhaps you gave it a go but didn’t want to make us jealous!!!!!
You need to keep enough wey on so wind does not blow you about. One question, seing you water do you have a water purification plant, so you get decent water. Good videos as always
Hi Yes we did exactly that as we needed exactly all our power to remain in control. We do not have a water plant on board. There are many water points along the canals and rivers 👍❤️
Hi both you mentioned beans on toast with a hint of heat, for me the only way is grated cheese on top Worcestershire sauce & melt under the grill, but which ever way lovely 👍👍.

fair enough there is a great app weather&radar we use when cruising which is pretty accurate to help planning. Very mindful of wind as got hit by 8 tonne tree on old boat during a storm.

I am so enjoying these Vlogs on the Grand Union Canal as it brings me back to my UK home base. My favorite Pub , The Boat Inn and always loved visiting the Canal Museum. Your walk on the Towpath traced my steps of so many walks. Thanks for the journey ❤

Hello I sent you a couple of coffees after that rather stressful day in heavy winds. Have had similar days in the same location, so know exactly what you were dealing with.. I read in one of your comments that Michael served in the RN. We have something in common as well as I did 36 years in the Canadin Navy, 4 of them in the UK where we first started canal boating...and it went on for 17 years. A great time!!

Was actually on loan to the USN Military Sealift Command while stationed in Britain working out of a HQ in Eastcote west London .Would love to be back there on the cut now.!

Well we started off in Holland and travelled Europe for a while on our Dutch Steel Cruiser then had a motorhome then two narrowboats in the UK.... who knows what is around the corner. Have you ever been caught out like that? Stay warm kind regards .Honey
@honeymgswtrancehealer7936 hi Honey great question. If it’s bad weather sometimes we have no choice but to move unless the skipper deems it’s not safe then we’re ok to stay. Some locations you can stay up to 2 weeks others might be 48hrs. Lymm for example was 48hrs in the centre of the village but the outskirts 2 weeks. Hope that helps xx

Yes sometimes it is, we did consider it but often you have to move on due to lack of water or needing us visit the sanitary station. We have something in common as well as I did 36 years in the Canadin Navy, 4 of them in the UK where we first started canal boating...and it went on for 17 years. A great time!!

@@cruisingontheborder I started out as a bridge watch keeper then moved into the sea logistics world. Last ship was a fleet tanker as the supply officer. Was actually on loan to the USN Military Sealift Command while stationed in Britain working out of a HQ in Eastcote west London .Would love to be back there on the cut now.!

When you've been everywhere in your boat, what will you do then? Will you continue to travel around regardless, or will you sell up & buy a house?
Well we started off in Holland and travelled Europe for a while on our Dutch Steel Cruiser then had a motorhome then two narrowboats in the UK.... who knows what is around the corner. @@cruisingontheborder I love watching your vids, I spent yesterday watching them lol, I'm hooked, it's funny, there's lots of boating videos out there but your channel is the best, please hurry with more vids lol the rate I'm watching I will run out of them giggle giggle, there is one question that keeps popping up if the weather turns bad ( bad for travel, now the cold weather is creeping in) & you're moored up in a place where you can not stay too long, what would you do/can you do in that situation? Have you ever been caught out like that?

@honeymgswtrancehealer7936 hi Honey great question. If it’s bad weather sometimes we have no choice but to move unless the skipper deems it’s not safe then we’re ok to stay. Some locations you can stay up to 2 weeks others might be 48hrs. Lymm for example was 48hrs in the centre of the village but the outskirts 2 weeks. Hope that helps xx
It doesn't look so easy to navigate such a long boat in these small waterways. How does one learn that without to many accidents

Yes sometimes it is, we did consider it but often you have to move on due to lack of water or needing us visit the sanitary station. We always review the weather at the start of every day and make an informed decision. Keep watching, lots more fun to come.

Yes the truster really comes in handy occasionally although we try not to use it much as it’s a big drain on its battery. 👍❤️
While docked, have you thought about an electric windmill power generator? I have seen that on narrow boats and sail boats. Love your vids! Dave from Oregon.

We have seen some wind gens on narrowboats but mixture seem to let solar take up the job but I guess in winter the wind should be used also. We will take a look into it thanks 👍❤️
