Thank you Edward for a different view on a Pattaya holiday. I appreciate the long walk. I know that was quite some distance that you have covered. Beautiful video. Cheers
Eddie, all you needed to - was jump onto one of the songthaew’s heading for jomtien beach and get off at the turning for cosy beach hotel, then just a short walk up the road for Big Buddah
So good to see you back on your travels Ed. Even though I have been living in Cambodia for the last 2 years I still enjoy watching your traveling around Asia especially Thailand. If you ever decide to visit Cambodia again see I'm reap where I am I will be happy to meet up with you for a cold one.
Went there last year beautiful place we got a air con taxi up the hill but walked back down after looking around the big Buddha and walked from there to beach road Jomtien. Good video Edward.🙏🙏🍺🍺🍺👍
Hey Ed. Love your channel. I watched every episode before I came to live in Pattaya 16 months ago. Glad to see you're back in Sin City. I'm having a great time. I hope you are too mate.
While you were there you should have gone to the Pratumnak Viewpoint (6:40 sign on the right of where you were standing)..You get to see the city from a height over the Pattaya sign...
Hi Eddie, great video and a healthy day out...just some info. 14:52 Awakened / Enlightened Buddha 15:11 Calming / Serenity Buddha 15:20 Teaching Buddha 17:30 Emaciated Buddha, starved himself in quest and search of Enlightenment / Nirvana.
Well done Eddie, it’s hard work being a roaming tourist seeing all the sights. When I was in Bali on a tour of the temples there, believe me you’ve got to be fit with all the hills and steps, my girlfriend couldn’t handle it after awhile and she’s 30 years younger than me.
You have done well there Ed going that far. People who have never been to hot and humid countries don't realise how much the heats saps energy. I once set out from siam@siam with the intention of going all the way to jomtiem beach. Got along beach road and over the hill but had to get a motorbike taxi I am am fitter than a butchers dog so well done.
I always love it when I go up there. Obviously a very spiritual place but such a calming atmosphere too. Eddie I should think after that trek you could do with a nice massage.
I did a similar walk possibly on the same day as you Ed. Wanted to walk to jontiem. Route was down walking street, round the pier area. Followed the sea till I hit a hill. Up that then got a bit lost. Walked past and through a few private resorts. And what I think was a private beach. Visited a yatch club and their private beach. Lots of back tracking up and down hills. Got there in the end. Very hot and sweaty. Took me 3 sodding hours in the mid day heat. Still got a bit of the sunburn lol. Mad dogs and English men.
Thanks for showing this Eddie, I've yet to head there. Maybe next time. I really appreciate your channel as someone who has only recently started making trips to Thailand over the past year. You acknowledge certain pleasurable activities without making your entire channel about that. I've learned a lot from you, including other places in SEA I want to visit.
Visited the big Bhudda many times.A nice walk up, though I usually walk along the sea to near the lighthouse and up the steep staircase through the winding path in the trees to the main road, comes out at that pretty park you like through a underpass. Normally I buy some birds in a cage from the old ladies at the bottom of the dragon steps and go up the staircase and make a prayer to my family and world peace and release them. Funny to watch all the cats licking there lips to eat the little birds, though I was assured by the little old ladies, the birds were trained and flew back for the next punters. Enjoying your videos, I'm not sure if you have done the fast ferry to Hau Hin and go and visited the teak temple being built over there.worth a visit.cheers.
2 months- you're very lucky my friend, you haven't won the lottery by any chance have you! I would need a fortune in spending money if I went for that long - I'm back for my 30th trip at the end of January for 12 nts- enjoy your trip
That was a great little adventure and using the "shanks pony" is the way to go; giving you plenty of time to take in the many sights and scents, and of course, the increased chance to interact with people along the way.
Hey Eddy, glad you haven't totally got eaten up by Pattaya... What a great vlog, you must have lost 2 or 3 kilos on that trek... It's amazing how pristine the Thais keep their sacred grounds. Beautiful. Thanks again and CHEERS.
Nice video as always Ed, I am back in the US, sorry we didn't hook up for a drink. I love Pattaya haha, going back I hope next November. Take care my good friend!!! Cheers like you say!! haha
I Did the Same walk a couple of years ago from Soi Diana.... Except i wore Flip Flops ...Massive Blisters on the soles of my feet . wore socks for the rest of my Holidays . Walking round the Parks always nice , Got a lovely Pond .
Hi Ed That unfinished high rise at Bali High pier was built 6 floors too high without planning permission. They were told to reduce it . So that’s why it’s been unfinished for years
Terrific walk from Buakhao to the Big Buddha , huge especially in that relentless heat and humidity and the final stage is up hill . Have done it myself on different trips , what in Buddha's name possess us to do it ? ,still, great exercise and I think we want to prove to ourselves we still have it after a decade lol .

The sanctuary of truth in nakiua is worth a visit!
It is, but very over priced. Note that you won't see many Thais there.

Definitely head to Sanctuary of Truth if you enjoy visiting these places.
Sanctuary of Truth is one of the most beautiful temples I saw in Thailand.
Well done for walking it all the way in the end. Hot and tiring but SO much more rewarding than to get places by vehicle, don't you agree? ;-]
Hi, Ian. Yes, I really enjoyed that walk. You never know, there could be a follow up video to this one. Much more to see around that area.
